Is Big E a future WWE Champion in the making?

Don't blame the boss dude!!! There hasn't been one deserving brother!! Preach love. HH

According to Wikipedia there's been a few black Champions actually.

Including Ron "Damn!" Simmons, the first black WCW Champion, there's also been Mark Henry, Booker T, The Rock (who's half black on his Dad's side) and wasn't Rocky Johnson, The Rock's Dad a former Champ?

There have been black WCW and World Champions. There has never been a black WWE Champion. Rock doesn't count. I think "black' in this sense means skin color, not ethnicity. In other words, Rock doesn't look black like Booker T looks black.

All I'm saying is, there has never been an African American WWF/WWE Heavyweight Champion. When I say African American I mean someone whose parents (and themselves) were born in the United States.

No. Rock's dad was a former WWF Tag Team champion. He was never World or for that matter IC champion.

I love the New Day....as the New Day.

I think this is a case of the whole being greater than the sum of it's parts.

So maybe a midcard title(defended under freebird rule) but certainly not pushing one of them to the WWE title.

I find it encouraging that most people think it's the colour of his skin that will hold him back rather than any perceived lack of skill.

Big E's a top tier talent - I've no problem with him being a world champion. In fact, I look forward to it.

Mark Henry, Booker T.

Not sure how much more American they can get.

What people will say about Mark Henry and Booker T, perhaps fairly, is that they were second-tier world champions in an era of two title belts. Being an out and out world champion when there's only one belt is another kettle of fish entirely.

Mark Henry and Booker T. were never WWF/WWE heavyweight champions. They were World Heavyweight Champions. WWE acquired the World Heavyweight Championship belt when they bought the rights to WCW (World Championship Wrestling). It was later used as a SECONDARY title to be defended on Smackdown.
