Is Aligning Ryder With Cena Dangerous For His Popularity?

I don't know how aligning Zack Ryder, someone who's been irrelevant for the better part of his WWE career, with the biggest face in not only WWE but in all of pro-wrestling today is going to hurt him in any way, shape, or form. Just teaming up with Cena gives Ryder a HUGE rub. Hurt Ryder? If anything, this will only help him move up the card.

Hold on, hold on, HOLD ON! Like rumored??? A rumor isn't something that the IWC wants to happen. I want it to happen just as much as you but don't say it is "rumored" because it is not. The IWC just want it to happen and always talk about it.

As for the topic of the thread, who do you think is most likely to get into this whole "Broski" thing and buy his merch? KIDS. Just like Cena, WWE obviously see that is Zack's target market so they are going to go for it by putting him with John. I give the IWC another month or two before they have all turned on Ryder.

OK.. so the IWC wants him to turn heel (I thought I heard from other sources but can't confirm). Fact is though WM28 is being held in The Rock's back yard and he'll get booed out of the building. I personally think him turning heel would be the best thing for his career and making the WM28 main event one of the best ever (especially since it feels like it lost a ton of steam). John Cena's target market is getting older, maybe reaching their teens and just like a lot of the people that have watched for decades, the kids will be looking for someone else. I can point to the merch sales where Cena is no longer the top dog and his 'hustle, loyalty, respect' being taken over by 'rise above hate'. The seeds to me seem to be planted.

As for Zack, he is still young and has a lot more room for his character to grow. The internet champion era of his career seems to be coming to an end and he's turning into a legitimate mid card and Cena's only furthering his push.

I've heard no such rumor other than the usual message board speculation. If anything the Rock is already acting like a heel.

As for Ryder I'd like to add that the segment on RAW was a play on how split the fans are on Rock vs Cena. It's like team Jacob vs team Edward is for 13 year old girls. You either like one or the other and that's the fun in this rivalry. They picked two comedic wrestlers to argue about who they liked better. So what if a loud mouth boston crowd booed him. I'm from Boston and even I think Boston wrestling crowds are obnoxious.

As for the fun in this rivalry, what if you never really cared much for either of them? As much as I hate to say it I really hope Cena defeats The Rock at WM28 (or better yet, the Rock has a movie offer he can't refuse and they call that match off). I don't see the Rock as a heel though, he's just being the Rock just like Stone Cold was just being Stone Cold.
