Internet Explorer 8 is garbage

Getting Noticed By Management
I don't know how many of you actually use IE anymore, (I don't, I have Firefox loaded to the teeth with add ons) but because I have to help customers who have it, I have learned the ins and outs of the program. After an hour of attempting to fix a download issue where the downloaded file would be corrupted and the digital signature couldn't be verified and it could never recognize a publisher of any executable files, I came to the conclusion that IE 8 was the culprit and we uninstalled it and went back to IE 7. Sure enough downloaded iTunes and installed like a champ.

Bottom line is, Microsoft rushed out a craptastic buggy to all hell browser update attempting to keep up with Mozilla, and failed miserable. They tried to add accelerators that do no help, where as compared to add ons for Mozilla where they actually work and do some good. My question is, why do so many people still use IE when Mozilla is clearly the superior browser?

I've never liked Internet Explorer.
It's like Microsoft put as little effort into it as they possibly could to still make it work. It's always slow, it always has add ons that fuck up and it's pop-up blocker is crap. And it's the same with every new installment.

But simply, IE is used by people who aren't really... familiar with the internet. They could use it all the time, sending e-mails, visiting a few of their favourite websites, whatever. There's just those people who think Internet Explorer is the only way to use the internet. The people who think it's a kind of universal programme which is the only browser that will work with any internet connection. And there's people who, when they're visiting websites or whatever, don't know how it's working and why when they type in letters in the bar at the top it goes to the website. Those people simply aren't aware that using other internet browsers could be faster and just better all round.

Internet Explorer was on my computer when I bought it, so I use that. It does everything I need it to. I dowloaded Firefox because Slyfox told me it was better. I like the password saved thing it has, but the add-ons confuse me. I'm not saying IE is the best thing in the world, but it does as I need, that is, visit a few sites and send a few e-mails.

There are two reasons people use Internet Explorer:

1) It comes pre-installed on Windows machines.

2) It says "Internet" in the title.

Makes sense. Shame more people don't understand though.

I must disagree that IE 8 is garbage. It may be buggy, but it's not garbage, there are a lot of good things in it as well.

The only add-on you ever need: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Install that to your Firefox browser. After you install the first time, it will ask you to "subscribe" to a list. Subscribe to a list from a location that is near you. After that, you shouldn't have to subscribe ever again.

Your web page will go from looking like this in Internet Explorer:

To this in Firefox:

So much nicer and cleaner and easier.

I've tried both IE 8 and Google Chrome and both are truly shit !! I actually had to restore my computer to an earlier save point after downloading IE 8 because it fucked it up so bad.

Google Chrome was just plain horrible from addition to deletion.

Firefox does work pretty well, but since all my work computers use IE, I tend to stick with IE on my laptop even though I have Firefox installed as well.

See, I like Google Chrome. I have very easy access to the sites I visit, it's faster than other browsers, and it's smart. I don't understand why people don't like it much. I've only had one thing that it isn't compatible with, but I don't try and run or download much.

Oh, and Internet Explorer is so slow in comparison to Chrome.

Mozilla Firefox ftw.
I've been using it for about 8 months now and I love it.
Opera isn't too bad either, same with Safari. I cannot stand IE.
It's amazing that just using a different browser can make sure you don't get as many pop ups. It's truly shocking.

I haven't tried Google Chrome yet. I've been meaning to download it to see if I like it, but I've heard alot of bad things about it.

I've been using Firefox since conception. I love it. easy to use, loads websites fast, loads images fast and you can use plug-ins to personalize it. combined with thunderbird its the best combination you can get!

I've had it with I.E its the worst browser in the world.
