In the magical land of OVER

Pay Per Ghost

What they f*ck happened in the thread section here
Wrestlers who got over. Stayed there for a long time, fizzed after a little while; just make a list here.

No maybe's. Just guys who became THE top dogs for wrestling promotions and drew like gangbusters!

So we have :

Bruno Sammartino
Hulk Hogan
Ultimate Warrior
nWo
Goldberg
Sting
Stone Cold Steve Austin
The Rock
John Cena

Anybody else?

Are you saying that he was just a draw during the territorial days or that he only drew in one territory? Both are false, but I'm just trying to get a grasp on where you're coming from.

And yes to Harley.

Let me clarify things again, the list in the opening post is when WWF went national and was a plateau with the Rock N' Wrestling era.

Now lets talk before that era.

We had close to 6 major territories/promotions didn't we? Lets go through the slew of NWA champions and tell me who drew, in almost all of them? Each and every one of them?

You're losing me here, Ghost. In the OP, you said:

Flair more than meets that criteria. I'm just going to end it there. I'm sure most would agree. If you're going to move the target on me and say that this is only about the era after WWF went national, then it becomes a different discussion.

I'll just post my list and go about my business:

Ric Flair
Andre the Giant
Dusty Rhodes
Harley Race
The Von Erichs

Na see I posted about guys after WWF went national and more than expected guys to mentions names from the era before that AND from overseas like Shadow did.

Your latest list suffices.

With Harley...I'm not sure. He was King of Kansas, how was his drawing power elsewhere as Champion?

With the territorial guys lets just not talk about wrestlersz who were kings of ONE territory ala Lawler rather, ones who drew wherever they went OR in most promotions they went during that time period.

El Santo
Blue Demon
Konnan (even if I personally hate him, he drew in Mexico)
Mil Mascaras
Mistico

Wasn't The Shiek a huge draw at one point?

The Destroyer was a massive Draw as a heel in Japan. 6 years for one comapany.

Jumbo Tsuruta, first triple crown winner for AJPW. He got cheered by Americans and was the first Japanese Wrestler to be cheered by Americans. When people remembered WW2 more closely than they do today

Triple H drew less than nothing for WWE.

Verne Gagne
Buddy Rogers
The Road Warriors
Brock Lesnar (if we count UFC)
Dusty Rhodes
Eddie Graham
Bruiser Brody
Carlos Colon
Jerry Lawler
Jackie Fargo
Fritz Von Erich

They have to draw in atleast 4 territories. Lawler was a hit in Memphis, what happened when he went elsewhere?

Similarly, Fritz.

You could say that for any person that was on your initial list (outside of Hogan that is).

Although Texas was Fritz` home base he did have the ability to draw pretty much anywhere. Lawler is the same story, the AWA for example as Lawler wrestled there quite a bit and I`m not really talking about when he was the champ that place was pretty much dead at that point.

Plus, If he owns the territory you can`t expect the guy to draw for someone else.

Now I don't really know how well wrestlers drew in crowds in the 50's and 60's, but everytime I look up superstars from that time period I see the name The Crusher.

If I trust in Wikipedia, he is in 4 different wrestling Hall of Fames, including WCW's. He had a highly successful run as tag-team champion in 3 or 4 different territories, back when a Tag Team match had to have been something special. And went on to hold the AWA's World Heavyweight Championship 3 different times, his last run unifying his belt with the Omaha version.

Sounds like a guy people paid to see.

Dr. Wagner Jr.
Cibernetico
Ricky Banderas
Perro Aguayo Sr. & Jr.
Apollo
Shane The Glamour Boy
L.A. Park

Konnan.

That isn't facetious; he's probably a bigger draw in Mexico than Triple H was in America
