I think he did about all he could do, to be honest. At least from the angle the GIF shows, there's not much else he can do to take the brunt of the impact. I mean, let's be honest here — this is a 49-year old non-wrestler taking the first bump of her life. Had she even practiced how to fall more than a handful of times? It's not as though she has any experience here, so as much as she's being protected, and as much as she may have been coached, ultimately her nerves are probably taking over regardless, which probably lead to her leaning too far back like that.

I'm not sure Bully could have done any more to save her the pain or injury without risking it himself.

Bully's aim and timing were way off and he launched himself like he had Jeff Hardy in his arms.

He could have done a far better job of timing the contact with the table and the whiplash of the powerbomb itself, taking as much of the impact himself as possible.

Instead, his going through the table did very little to slow their momentum, essentially powerbombing her from the second rope into the middle of the ring.

Small wonder she got hurt.

Damn. Every time I see it, it just becomes clearer that Ray fucked up big time. She hit the ring at a bent angle while Ray's entire fat ass covers the table. Dixie bounced off nothing but canvas and Ray's crotch. No wonder she's hurt so bad.
