Impact Support Club House

It's mostly visa issues. Most of the people leaving have a hard time with visas and James Storm had too big a contract for Impact to keep, sadly.

The bigger question is why that new announcer guy is so allergic to saying "weighting at". He just says their billed town, "220lbs", their name. It's WEIRD.

There are some reports saying that Lashley and EC3 are both coming to the end of their contract and the company wants both to take a pay cut to stick around.

I wonder how much they are paying Jimmy Jacobs to pop up on screen for 45 seconds each night? I also wonder how much they paid Stephan Bonnar for his time.

Actually, I think Jacobs is on creative and probably why the shows are more fluid recently. As for Bonnar and ATT. I don't know hopefully they're just paying Lambert and the rest just hang around for catering.

Who am I kidding. They get more than what they should. Though the guy Storm keeps kicking is earning his pay.

Peculiar note. Austin Aries debuted for Defiant Wrestling and had his TNA theme with him. Might mean he's already back but no tapings yet? Or TNA is more liberal than I thought now.

Is that WCPW? That whole thing with the recent layoffs and firings and rebranding has confused me.

The report going around is that Anthem's recent decision to allow the talent to take their Impact created gimmicks with them is why Laurel Van Ness is ready to leave, so she can take that gimmick on the road and make more money with it since it has really taken off. They also don't like her and Zack Ryder hanging out at official tapings or her going to WWE branded events he is at.

It's just not interesting TV right now. The women's division is STILL the Gail Kim Tribute Show, the X-Division is basically nothing, Alberto vs. Impact is the real main event feud but they've already had their big match and the MMA guys won't go away.

What else is there on the show that people would want to watch?

McKenzie Mitchell.

Big, big news from the tapings.

Austin Aries is back and

He beat Eli for the World Title

Make sure to use the spoiler tags if you want to talk about this as that's kind of a big deal.

First night with the company after leaving WWE. Sounds about right.

It isn't just that, though hot shotting the belt to a WWE castoff (even if he built a name in TNA) will always be a running joke. They had managed to actually build a decent main event story with Eli, Johnny, and Alberto. The segments were solid and the matches that actually took place in an Impact ring were fine. Maybe this will turn out okay (I have no hope) but ruining the build of the last few months for a shock title change with no build has never worked for this company.

So Aries, advertised as the Impact Champ, is going to face Pete Dunne for the Destiny World Championship on January 21st. Is the episode Aries wins the title going to air before then? Probably not right?

Tonight's show is available online and there's quite the development (doesn't give away a winner or loser etc):

The round/judges system seems to have been dropped, making the Grand Title a standard midcard title
