Impact Support Club House

Friday Night Impact is the way to go, but holy shit, what a massive undertaking it'd be again. That IMPACT WRESTLING logo is everywhere. Now what, you go back and re-brand TNA again, to leave the show called Friday Night Impact? What a mess.

The name Impact Wrestling? Nope. It's branded on everything. T-shirts, ring aprons, DVD merchandise, posters, etc. That stuff costs a fuck load to re-print and re-produce.

Decided to start watching Wrestlemania mid Sting/HHH, saw the shitty end with Sting losing, heard JBL say "...and the right side won again" and immediately turned it off.

If this doesn't effectively sum up why I despise this company, I don't know what does.

It's been the turd in the punch bowl. You totally missed Sting's "oh fuck, why did I agree to this" face during his entrance.

My relationship with WWE at this point is like a battered wife. I've left. I have no interest in coming back, because I know what's happening, and what will happen again and again. It's not a matter if if, but when. I could come back, he could appear changed, all could be well for months, even years, and then that moment will come again where he clenches his fist and it's back to square one.

I'm better off just staying away.

It is crazy as to why Sting waited so long to go to WWE to fuckin' lose. Great way to cement your legacy, Sting.

I mean, if that's what he wanted, good for him. He got to wrestle in front of a billion people again... and lose. I can't pretend to know a god damned thing about why, or what the stipulations were, or whatever, but to me it just had the stink of the same ol' WWE. You're a WCW/TNA guy, and you aren't one of us, so bow because we're better.

JBL may have been told to say what he said, but I wouldn't be shocked if he meant it genuinely, whether he was told to say it or not. There's something about this company that goes beyond pride and right into arrogance that was epitomized in his statement.

Ugh, where to start - the Japanese version of his new WWe(TM) theme, the former Governor of Sting's state endorsing his opponent, the match becoming no holds barred with no prelude, Sting's mortal enemies (and antiWCW) the nWo coming out to side with him (FFS Robocop would have made more sense... and would have got to the ring quicker too), Michael Cole jumping onto JBL's bandwagon during the match, HB "I'm done with in-ring performances" K getting ANOTHER sneak attack that can never be resolved, Sting taking out the dreaded sledgehammer with his bat only for it still to be behind him losing, the 'respect' handshake when the alleged purpose of Sting's being there was to stop Trips turning the WWe the same way as WCW only for Triple H to neither respect him nor resolve his ways later in the show with the Rock segment. You can also throw in that one Divas match later, we were shown highlights of the previous nights HoF and Nash, Hall, HBK, Waltman AND TRIPLE H all as best buddies! [NOTE: This paragraph is deliberately structured this way - a cluster of a match deserves a description to compliment it!]

Basically, to date, Sting's time in the WWe has been for sweet FA. He got the Authority fired... they returned. He out-thought the Cerebral Assassin in the whole build-up, overcame dX, got past Triple H & HBK's finishers & the initial introduction of the sledgehammer only to still lose the match and his whole stated purpose of being there wasn't even achieved. It appears all this build was just to set up a throwaway line to create a 'WrestleMania Moment' with the Rock and Ronda Rousey who did get their way over the Authority.

Everything that was ever stated about Sting's reluctance to enter WWF/e being down to how he might be treated was realized last night!

I mean, I can't pretend to even know what the build up to this was, but if it's even half as true as what you just posted Fit, yeah, that shoot promo he gave about why he never went to WWE is a joke now.

"I'll never forget Booker T making his first appearance on their show. He came into the ring and he's making this big huge fight and guys are flying all over the place, and then the Rock comes into the ring and the Rock is hitting guys and guys are flying all over the place and then they come back-to-back and they turn around and come face-to-face and the Rock says "who are you?" — that one little comment is all it took to bury someone like Booker T and let the world know you're a WCW guy and you're a peon here."

"I didn't trust how I was going to be used."

Turns out Sting was right. It was a cool moment. But it became very clear that the whole thing was just Granpa Vince stroking his ego again.

Just to make it worse, Sting went down for The Rock.

During today’s WWE conference call hosted by Vince McMahon, during the Q&A segment of the call, Vince said one of the reasons why they brought Sting into the company is due to the marketing power of WWE. He said they were able to take Sting “out of obscurity” and make him a major attraction.

Nothing says "Thanks, Sting" like "you should be thanking us for saving you from obscurity!"

Never ceases to amaze me the level of arrogance and pretentiousness that surround the decision-makers in that company.

If you ever wanted a lesson, first-hand, on why the relentless "brand" bullshit and rhetoric like "WWE rejects" exists and thrives to this day, quotes like this explain it perfectly.

Come home, Sting.

It's spiking the ball in a blowout game when you're up 42-6 after the half.

It's also what I've come to expect from the execs that run that company. They pat themselves on their own backs so hard they nearly break their own arms.

Let's not pretend there wasn't a high road alternative here, because there was. And it was low-hanging fruit, too. "...because he's one of the greatest in the history of the industry and we saw an opportunity to give him his Wrestlemania moment — something he deserved, something we owed him — as a thank you for all his years of service to our wonderful fans..."

Instead, we get this pot shot bullshit again.

Me and my boy have been talking about this for months. We knew Sting was gonna be jobbed in this match. They have their reasons, but c'mon. To say that you saved him from obscurity, Vince should've been bigger than that.

Man do I really love Bram.

England represent.

I mean heck he hasn't won a title at all yet and he's more interesting tha Wade Barrett has been in forever.

(FFS Robocop would have made more sense... and would have got to the ring quicker too)
After that Terminator........ entrance thing, and once the run-ins started, everyone I was watching with was vocally hoping for the Robocop run-in we knew wasn't happening.

Let's all pour out a drink for our dear, departed brother... Garett Bischoff.

I'm just kidding. You were the drizzling shits, bruh.
