Impact Rating Down Again

I don't think its anything that impacts doing thats effecting the ratings. I'm pretty sure that the drop in ratings for the past two weeks can be directly attributed to the chicago bulls playing the miami heat the past 2 thursdays. And with the NFL draft this thursday I wouldn't be suprised if its under 1 again.

Naw, see, this is the spam section. Only the intelligent folk post here.

Well, them, and Paper Ghost.

Vince is gnna buyz TNAz coz its shit n thn gnna create a seprate show for all the talent! WWE rulz.......z.

Now then while Harthan pulls his eyes out, haven't the last two shows ended with Hogan in the last segment? I hope there is no knee jerk reaction to this in TNA, because they have a very interesting concept in 'open fight night' that could work. They're good.

I don't dislike Roode. I think he done a good job. He can't hold the belt for ever.

He hasn't been holding the belt forever, his reign is the most credible going today; maybe asides Punk's as WWE Champion, but Roode is making the TNA World Heavyweight Championship mean something.

Changing one Champion won't help anyway, there are another 30 roster members and several other angles going on.

I find neither credible.
Roode has been winning by Cheating and Luck. TV is also under 1 and think it has to do with him. How ever it's not his fault he is doing a good job.

Punk is like at best 6th in the WWE totem pole. So him being champion is hardly credible IMO.

So neither one is credible and Punk is 6th on the WWE totem pole?

Jesus, thats dumb. And I just woke up and don't have the patience to make you realize how wrong you are. Someone else, step up...

Who has the Championship doesn't matter... Jeff Hardy isn't featured in the show as he should be, neither is AJ, Angle, and even Hogan.

Storm/Roode has been a great feud and worthy of being over the World Championship, but the other storylines on the show have been horrible, which unfortunately makes Roode/Storm look bad since the numbers are dropping with their feud as the most predominant part of the show. If Hardy, Hogan, AJ, Sting, Flair, etc. were all doing something interesting as well, then more people would tune in, who would then also be able to get to know Roode and Storm better and enjoy their feud a lot more. But people turn TNA on or read the results, see their favorite wrestlers aren't doing jackshit, and decide not to give a damn.

I think I am done with debating ratings. The various ways people watch shows seem to be too big a factor. Ideally people watch live but if they don't there are other things that need to be accounted for if we are going to make sweeping conclusions about the product.

TNA needs to thank all their fans by going to all of their homes and smashing their DVRs.

This. I fucking lol'd.

Put simply, Storm/Roode is the only good story in TNA, and they need more. Other fueds can produce nice matches, but there's nothing else hugely compelling at the moment. I think Roode is a great champ, but I have to start disagreeing with the IWC who seem to think he should keep the belt for-fucking-ever. If he holds it right through to BFG, getting the same old screwey wins, it's going to start getting fucking boring, fucking quickly. Please, have Roode drop the strap at Slammiversary, even if he wins it back later to drop to Storm at BFG.

Oh, and stop using the hottest young commodity in pro wrestling (A Double) as a mawkish babyface to get Baby Bischoff over. It's disgusting.

What's this rant got to do with rating? Nothing really. Apart from the fact they need some more good stories. That might help. Or it might not. Thing is, when the ratings have always been fairly modest anyway, these small drops seem far more significant than they actually are.

Well I disagree with Jmt here. As good as Storm/Roode been, I have enjoyed the little angle between Angle/Hardy. Pretty basic storyline. But Angle's dialogue delivery and weaving kayfabe all around good matches has been sweet.

I think there's been plenty of good on iMPACT the last few weeks. Storm/Roode obviously, but also the tag team titles are going well, Joe and Magnus and credible and MCMG are back, lifting everything in the process.

Putting the TV title on the line each week is going to make it infinitely more interesting. This open fight night is certainly intriguing, as is the new way of signing and introducing talent to the roster.

Aries is confusing. He seems to have slithered over to being face but there's little emphasis on the division itself recently and there's questions as to who can contend with him and when they might even face him.

Knockouts have gone to shit. I said quickly that Gail Kim was the wrong person to base the division off. Give the title back to Rayne, or Velvet Sky, just someone else, she isn't helping.

A new Styles and Daniels/Kazarian question has been raised and made things a bit interesting finally, which that feud had been drastically lacking.

I like the route they are taking Abyss, at least I think I do. I don't know where it's headed for definates and I consider that a plus, besides which it's interesting.

EY and ODB are plateau'd at awesomeness as usual.

Garrett Bischoff is.... no. Just no.

RVD is back! Cool. Anderson is also a potential suspect for a title opportunity. Hardy is way, way over but he doesn't seem like he;s going to be champ any time too soon.

Angle is a heel, he can do plenty of good work from that position.

Having Hogan in this GM position is being utilised well because they are actually implementing changes whilst he's in charge. If it had been business as usual, it'd have been a waste of time, but they managed not to fall into that pitfall.

Bully Ray = Great.

There is a lot of good overall. It's not great but there's enough to sink your teeth into and not be dissapointed when you actually take a bite.

I agree with your opinion on the Knockouts division. I'm one of few who could never stand Gail Kim, don't get why people even think she's that great of a women's wrestler. She does nothing but basic moves, maybe it's because she hits them with more precision that gets people moist? I don't know, but they need to get the belt off her, and quick.

And I disagree with the EY/ODB comment. It's cringeworthy television to me. Makes little sense, the fact they haven't had any authority figure comment on the fact a male is holding the Knockouts Tag Team Championships shows how little they actually care about the entire angle, plus the belts have been made a joke of. It's pretty much, "creative has nothing" for them, television.
