IF…WHEN Alberto Del Rio turns Face how will it go over???

So watching ADR and I really hate the guy but he seems like he grows on you like a virus and I think this is what’s happening to the WWE universe, people sorta hated him during his debut, but they are starting to like him. So my question is whenever he turns face do you think it will be a good thing and do you think he will be bigger that Rey Mysterio?

I think he'll be much bigger than Rey Mysterio simply because Rey has no mic skills. I can't stand to hear him talk. ADR has a huge ceiling, but that said, I wouldn't turn him face anytime soon. Let people get to really hate his heel character and build him up further that way...especially if/when he wins the belt at Mania.

I'd rather see Barrett go face before ADR.

I feel it all depends on Sin Cara. Since they are the Hispanic draw (WWE seems to feel that way) any way I hope he stays heel, But you already knew that.

Why would you turn this man face? Really he is a great slimeball heel, he oozed that kind of stuff that you just hate about a wrestler. Needless to say he's attacked many huge faces in the WWE, and to me that would just be a big waste of months of heel build up time. I don't see them turning him heel for quite some time due to Sin comming into the fold. WWE would be idoits to use him as a heel, but I've seen worse ideas spawn from them.

First of all, there's no guarantee that Del Rio is going to be turning face in the foreseeable future. A Mexican Royalty gimmick doesn't exactly scream face. If he doesn't turn face within the next year or so (and the smart money says he doesn't), there's really no way to predict how the face turn would go down.

That said, the IWC has a bad habit of building turns up to be big huge shockers. Sometimes you can see them coming, and often times they aren't all that complicated. I think if Del Rio turns face within the next year it will just be through him teaming up with other faces to fight The Corre or Nexus. I don't think it will be anything super special, it will just be a face turn.

It won't happen. He'll be a lifelong heel like in a JBL mold. His gimmick is a rich foreign person who is selfish. Unless he starts giving his money away to the crowd he will not be a face. He's a really good heel why turn him face?

If he ever does turn face which I don't think he will anytime soon he'll have to ditch the announcer, just like Dolph needed to drop Vickie for a face turn. But like a few other people said, a foreign snob isn't really a good draw on the face side.

He's too good as the suave arrogant but brutal mexican crime lord character. Keep him heel. But if he became a face, I can see him becoming a character similar to the Rock.

I don't see ADR "purposely" going face. I can see people cheering him without a character change at all. Fans will start cheering him because they like his work. It is possible that he may go after a heel champ one day, but again, no character change.

Side note.... I think his catch phrase (but, you already knew that) will get over and at somepoint, expect the fans to start finishing the promo for him.

I really couldn't see Del Rio going face without a major (and we're talking major) personality change. His entire persona revolves around being rich, arrogant, and overprivileged and that just doesn't translate well into a face persona. He'd have to have a change of gimmick, mostlike, in order to be a face.

It's possible that, through a series of bad moves, he loses his financial situation completely. If that were to happen, and if he were to become totally dependent on the WWE for his living, then perhaps a face turn is possible, but it's unlikely. Del Rio is doing fine as he is, for now. I don't see him ever going face.

can we say TRIPLE H... remember trip when he came into the WWE, he was a snob and wealthy like Hunter Hearst Hemsley...

but im not saying ADR is going to be a FACE anytime soon, when I thought of this post I didnt think in the next six months to a year or so...I was thinking LONG term (even 3 to 5 years from noew) and also I was thinking that his face turn would prolly be becuz he either ONE goes after a BIGGER heel champ (ie KANE, Swagger??, sumone like that) or TWO becuz of him getting so much pop it almost FORCES him to be a face w/o a character change...

I see what people are saying about getting pops without the character change but I would like to see him stay heel for a long time to come yet. He's still a very new, fresh character and so far I've enjoyed his work both in the ring and on the mic. He has actually made the Armbar (which at first I thought was a weak finisher) look like a deadly move in recent months, too.

I'm not entirely sure if he warrants such a super push so early into his career, but hey, he is entertaining and I could imagine him as Champion to be quite enjoyable to watch. Especially if he continues to be booked as strongly as he is right now.

It can be done.. I always thought to myself .. how in the hell could WWE ever make Stephanie McMahon a face.. she was hated, between the face Jericho promos, the Rock and Austin segments, and then she turned on Triple H... I just couldn't picture it... but they managed to do it. Eddie was a great example of this as he was this beloved lie/cheat/steal character and then in the blink of an eye he turned heel, betrayed Mysterio and then turned vicious ripping at his mask and almost beating him to death...

I'm not saying Del Rio is as talented as Eddie but the bookers will find a way to use his high flying style and make him a cool tweener and then a face...

As Alberto Del Rio he will never be a face, as Dos Caras he will be a great face. I think eventually wwe will go with a split personality with him, Dos Caras means two face in Spanish but as Dos Caras Alberto never been heel, so the Alberto Del Rio character may be around for awhile. I would love for WWE to make him into a DR. Jekyll & MR. Hyde character. This guy has the talent to do some great promos as a split personality character.
