I thought the Draft was supposed to destroy Smackdown...

DJ-LyRiX

Pre-Show Stalwart
As an avid SD watcher, reading on WZ in the last few weeks that we were bound to lose a load of talent, I approached this draft with caution. I thought we would lose out badly.

But we now have Jericho, Mysterio, CM Punk & Kane - all stars who need that one push to be fresh. Along with Edge, Taker, Jeff Hardy et. al, I think SD could be THE show to watch in the next twelve months.

Thoughts people!!

absolutely true.. raw this year is just gonna be the same feuds recreated between HHH HBK cena batista and orton.. but smackdown is gonna be awesum

wasnt a big fan of this years draft wasnt surprised at all until jericho was drafted but i always look forward to watching SD! and i have a few things in mind what could happen but im saving them for after this fridays show

If anything stacking Raw with the established names gives SD! the freedom to elevate guys, which is more exciting to watch than another HHH vs Orton match or Batista v HHH or whatever.

Raw's gone with all the guaranteed draws etc. which is fine. Raw has always been my favourite programme, and it'll probably continue to be so. However, I am excited about Smackdown now, most of all for Jericho. Hopefully he and Edge can get something going and if they do it'll be the show to watch.

I think your write but the problem is what is there to feud over on Smack Down???? They have no main titles. I actually think Punk is once again going to win a major title. And bring it to SD. Or Edge may actually come out on top at Backlash any way. As a WWE Fan I see SD getting many pushes here, new feuds. Also Kane + The Undertaker are now on the same show as the Unifided Tag Team Champions.... As for Rey Mysterio I heard some one early say Chris Jericho, and CM Punk would be the ones to feud with him. They should not have 3 new SD all from Raw feuding over the belt. They need to utilize with the Supplimentary draft. To creat new feuds

I felt the draft was very good, aside from some obvious choices, but I think that you have future stars and not Triple H on the brand, it means people will develop, especially with the Deadman having his brand back.

I think aside from the likes of Orton, Legacy, etc. Smackdown is the show to watch. I mean, what the hell are they going to do with Matt Hardy? He's stuck in the midcard now!

I think a Chris Jericho/Undertaker feud is likely and Edge will probably feud with CM Punk over the World Title...That is, assuming Edge doesn't turn face which I think COULD happen which maybe the reason for Jericho's draft to Smackdown.. Smackdown will be nowhere near Raw but with Edge, The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Jeff Hardy, etc. I think Smackdown will be decent enough to keep the ratings consistent.

Add Christian to Smackdown! and maybe Swagger and Morrison and it's probably the show I'd prfeer to watch tbh, I like Orton, Batista andCena, and HBK is obviouslyt decent and HHH is well...but yeah, I've seen what those ugys can do, all thsoe guys have had high profile matches against each other, Smackdown! will be more exciting I think.

WWE did have plans to destroy Smackdown in the draft, in terms of star power. I automatically thought that would mean no more Undertaker, no more Triple H, no more Jeff Hardy, no more Big Show, no more Edge. We did lose Triple H and Big Show in two very obvious moves, bit in change, we got Kane and Chris Jericho. Both of these men are main eventers who aren't given too much of a chance to shine. Jericho was given two World Championships in 2008, just to lose them quite quickly and even won ''Superstar of the Year'', but was he in the World Title scene or high-profile match at Wrestlemania? Kane, an 11+ year loyal WWE employeee who was given a 24-hour WWE Championship reign. Though he's won several mid card and tag team championships, he hasn't had that one dominant World Title reign. I heard that he doesn't care about that stuff, but I'm buying it.

WWE probably has plans to take away a lot more valuable Smackdown superstars in the Supplementary Draft. If this year is a bit different that others, we may see many main eventers leaving... this would really hurt SD! since Matt Hardy left and he played a huge part of Smackdown in the past 3 years, even on ECW.

Either Edge is gonna win at Backlash, which I really don't see happening, or CM is gonna steal the title that night or on a Raw or SD right after that. I'd actually like CM to use the MITB briefcase to take the title from either Trips or Orton, seeing as I view that fued as bigger than over just the title. They should make it a personal fued based on just pure hatred, not the title.

Also Kane + The Undertaker are now on the same show as the Unifided Tag Team Champions....

I really don't see this happening at this point in time. At least it shouldn't. The Undertaker and Kane can be allies and team up at some times, but to make them tag champs would just be a waste. They don't have enough time left in their careers to wither away in the tag team division.

But anyway, I am way bigger on Raw than SD, because of the days that they're on. SD is just hard for me to watch seeing as that it is on Friday nights. So I am kinda disappointed with the draft. I love MVP but everyone else that came over I really don't care about. I was hoping that the reports that Raw would be getting everyone would be true, but it obviously wasn't. I hope I don't have to start watching SD like I do Raw, cuz I really don't have the time, but i guess I might have to.

Taker-jericho at WM26? That would be a epic match

I think jericho could win, and I would love it.

But this was just another average draft.

give it 2-4 weeks before judging.

Damn, at this rate, Cena needs to get over there fast. Sure Smackdown has a great roster, but theres no title main event faces in sight. Dont even go there with me about CM Punk, Hardy can ME, but he cant do it at every PPV, Taker will only get the title near Wrestlemania, after that, who does that really leave. Rey is a long shot. With Raw, you have Batista (for now), Triple H, Cena, and Michaels (maybe). In a way, they basically killed tha ME picture, but they strengthen the Mid-Card. If Cena doesnt come, dont expect anything special from the ME's, and even if he does come, dont expect much because even I will get tired of Cena in tha Main Event match at every PPV.

maybe this is the time to turn punk heel?
have cena win. punk comes in and steals the title. brings it to smackdown.
he can say he is the new "ultimate opportunist" bam. feud with edge.

The Straight Edge Superstar. vs The Rated R Superstar

I think the good thing now is that SD also has Morrison, Knox, & Cryme Tyme, and maybe even Ziggler, there's plenty of people to push into the upper-mid card now. Plenty of charisma on SD too, so people can be pushed via personal feuds and not just the one or two matches SD seems to get on PPV.

I do also think that Edge will win at Backlash and bring the Title back to SD.

There's no World Title to fight for.
So what will they fight for?
IC title?
I doubt that there will make 5 or 6
superstars fight for the IC title.
Looks like We're depending on CM Punk for another
Move at Backlash.
Orton and Legacy win, Priceless is down,
Orton is dazed, and out comes CM Punk to bring a World Title to SD!
I don't think they wanna make Punk a heel though, so one of the bad guys
will obviously win. I want the WWE title on SD! though.
That's where I think it belongs.
But what if they leave SD! the way it is?
What if they make Punk LOSE his MITB?
Would Vince do such a thing to make RAW better?

If Edge doesn't win in backlash, I doubt CM Punk will use his MitB yet as Judgment Day is in Chicago, I feel that he'll use the MitB there..
