I Thought Jericho was Going to Perform

Anyone may feel free to correct, but I thought that Chris Jericho was going to perform a song or two from Fozzy's latest CD.

Don't get me wrong, I liked his appearence last night as it was, but I could swear that he was supposed to perform God Pounds His Nails or something. If I misremembered the ads for his return, my apologies.

But if I remembered them correctly I wonder what happened to change the agenda.

Download Festival in the UK. At least I assume it was as that was the clip they showed last week haven't had a chance to watch Raw yet. I was there though and it was awesome.

I think the Fozzy clips were just intended to bring Jericho back in a good light and allow the fans to cheer him. As far as I'm aware there was no plans for him to actually perform at the show.

He didnt return as a full face. Id say it was more like 25% face, 75% heel. The only face moments were the clips of fozzy and jericho saying to cena to shut the hell up. Other than that everything else was heelish. He talked like a bitter 40 year old and later in the night he let big show kill cena.

So yeah, i think they were aiming for a slow transition....or jericho simply sucks at acting like his old face self. He'll get better eventually.

I disagree... something about his promo popped last night. 10+ year olds hate Cena. Jericho can turn the crowd in a second. When he came back a few months ago he had the whole arena chanting for him, but he was still heel. I think everyone would love another "face" Jericho run. Now is the time...

I believe since he hasn't had much of a push and no offense, his "comeback" to the WWE has been sort of a waste, WWE doesn't want to leave with a bad relationship with Jericho once this contract is up and he is gone after summerslam, so I think that it will not be Metallica performing at Summerslam, but instead Fozzy. I mean why not!? What better way to end your wrestling career, by kickstarting one of the biggest tours your rock band is about to hit the road on, and what better place to have your opening gig at then Summerslam.

The fact that the WWE showed clips from Fozzy's performance from the Download Fest has NOTHING to do with the band performing at raw, coming back as a face or even a heel. At the end of the day, the WWE did this for one simple reason. They not only want to do things that's going to MAKE Chris stay around for awhile, but it was their way of throwing him a bone for his suspension. The whole wrestling world knows his suspension was ridiculous but it HAD to be done.

............I could be wrong about both of my assumptions though, maybe they gave him free advertising in exachange for him being the ONLY person capable of performing at a HIGH level in the MITB match coming up

Obviously he didnt turn face since he mocked cena the whole time, not that i didnt like it that star wars promo was the worst ive seen in years holy crap it was awful.I almost tuned out until the lights flicked off and i immediately knew it was Jericho.Since ive been reading that Chris Jericho is/was turning face i thought he would hit the codebreaker on Show since he basically stopped his match, it wouldve been the best way to put him over as a face and end the show IMO.
