I Just Noticed...

... that Michelle McCool has terrible mic skills. That backstage promo on the most recent episode of Smackdown! was hard to watch, but only because of her. All the other Divas in this segment speak very well, including Eve, who is pretty new, but McCool sounds very bad. I'm not trying to bash her; she's one of the best Divas when it comes to in-ring ability, but I had never noticed her lack of mic skills before, and I don't ever recall someone bringing it up on these forums. I know, she's only a Diva, but she's the Women's Champion. Shouldn't she at least speak decently?

So...

Has anyone else noticed how bad she is? Is she better than I think? Is this a problem, or does the Divas' division not matter enough for it to be?

Most of the Divas are pretty terrible at mic skills. Candice is not the first Diva to be crap on the mic and she sure as Hell will not be the last. You are correct though, she is pretty terrible. I will ell you who is the best Diva on the mic, shall I? Jillian Hall. Honestly, I know she does that shitty singing thing but to be honest it works and she must be comfortable enough in her mic skills to go up and do that.

Michelle McCool has never been one for the stick. She has that annoying Missy Hiatt voice that nobody from the crowd likes to hear & makes her promos that much worse. Couple this with the fact that she has no charisma in any role she has played so far other than performing her in-ring abilities & you have yourself a winning combination of EPIC FAIL on the mic.

She should stay away from promo's & focus herself as an in-ring diva. She CAN wrestle & should stick with it. There have been many others in the business who can go in the ring 110% when injured yet cannot save themselves speaking properly & still have gone a long way in wrestling [like Chris Benoit].

I really noticed this too on the latest episode of Smackdown. I’m not someone that usually pays attention to the divas on Smackdown when they are doing backstage segments because they just don’t interest me that much, but the one time I do, I get annoyed because of Michelle. I don’t know why it is, but her voice just sounds annoying. Maybe it’s because it sounds like she has some southern accent or something…even though she is from Florida, where I’ve never heard someone from here sound like that. Maybe her parents have an accent and she inherited it? I don’t know, I just know I don’t like the way she sounds and I do agree with the OP that her mic skills are terrible. They should just keep her away from the mic and let her do what I like her for, wrestling.

I was really amazed, because I though she was better. She didn't come off as believable at all. Which is a shame. She's become good in the ring, but yet her mic skills are pretty bad. On top of that, I do find her voice to be annoying. I would have her just stick to working good matches in the ring, and not get on the mic that much. That's just me though

I've noticed this for awhile that McCool is pretty annoying and not so hot on the mic. I think she did commentary for a divas match and I had to fast forward through it b/c she was annoying me. She is great in the ring though and she is one of my favorite divas, but stay away from the mic Michelle.

She's always been awful on the mic, but she isn't the only diva who's terrible (though I would say she is the worst). The problem with McCool is that she doesn't have much charisma either, so it's really hard for her to get over as a heel who can get the crowd to reaction to what she does. I agree with whoever said she should just focus on in-ring skills. She could be that 'Actions speak louder than words' kind of person, and if she wants to say something, she can do it by beating the living hell out of somebody - she did that with Eve and Maria during her heel turn.

I totally forgot she is the womens champion still. Damn.

But her skills on the mic have always been completly horrible. Maybe she should get Taker to teach her some.

I don't care for her at all as a heel. She's just.. annoying as shit. I too forgot she was champion. I didn't really care for her that much to begin with, but even less as a heel. She is pretty bad on the mic, she tries too hard. Maybe she should just come out and kick someone in the face instead of talking. Pele just to piss Styles off and draw the ire of the IWC.

She's hot and a great wrestler but OMG her mic skills are awful. Everytime I hear her cut a "promo" it makes me want to hear Jillian Hall sing! She needs to work on it so much more. I too forgot she is the Women's Champion and she really needs to go back to a face because the heel gimmick just isn't working out for her one bit.
