I've literally never understood this, what do you hope to acheive by announcing your departure. One of two things:

1) Get everyone to say "no, please don't go" and suck your balls, which, unless you're in the upper echelons, nobody is going to care.

2)Get people to follow you out, in which case, you are trying to shepherd people away, you know, like sheep.

So you either have ideasabout yourselves way above your stations, in which case good riddance. Or you're huge hypocrites, in which case good riddance.
