Getting Noticed By Management
Alright, I recently saw somewhere posted in the news post about people not knowing if HHH gets to the point of being a face or a heel. People were confused as he is a heel against Daniel Bryan and the whole WWE Championship/Face of the Company storyline, but seems to be a face during the Punk/Heyman segments, since he favors Punk in his decisions.
Could we be talking about a first ever hybrid character, as in being heel and face in the same time? Is this what WWE creative is trying to do? It might have come to them by surprise, but they might as well have thought of this scenario.
It comes differently that the typical "tweener" character, as a tweener seems to be a face using more heelish tactics, being more aggressive, Punk being a classic example currently. If this is indeed a matter of a hybrid character, then how does this affect the legitimacy of HHH being "the bad boss that everyone hates"? What if WWE tries to have us not cheer or boo a certain guy, but rather watch what he does and either applaud or boo his particular action?
What are your thoughts? Is this WWE's creative way to write HHH? Could it work not having a typical reaction my the fans, but rather love or hate HHH by his decisions made on the spot? It seems refreshing to me.
P.S.: I always thought of a scenario where a guy shows up as a heel at Raw and as a face on Smackdown (or vice versa). Getting 100% boo'ed for heelish actions and 100% cheered for face actions.
