How would you book it: Sting vs. undertaker

With the news that Sting's neck is not as bad as first thought and his statement that he still wants a crack at the Undertaker, how would you book a match between the two?

Ive got a totally over the top never going to happen in a million years idea.

I would start the storyline at Wrestlemania ending at Survivor Series. I would drop Sting out of the ceiling at Wrestlemania costing him his match against Shane(won't happen for quite a few different reasons varying from how do you hide the fact he's up there if the roof is retracted to respect for the Hart family to would Sting even be willing to do it)

Since neither man wrestles a full time schedule you could let it lie dormant for a few months, gives both guys plenty of time to work together outside of the WWE(Mark has a wrestling ring at his home gym and they both live relatively near one another) all the while playing up on TV how will Undertaker get his revenge.

After Summerslam I'd start the build up, have the Undertaker start interfering in random matches, placing a Sting mask on each guy before tombstoning them. Taunting Sting until he finally returns and challenges Undertaker to a 3 vs 3 match at Survivor Series. In a cage, War Games style.

You finally get Sting and The Undertaker in the same ring at the same time, not to mention 4 other guys to help cover up the fact neither Sting or Undertaker can move the way the used to.

Never will happen but I'd pay to see it.

Now that I think about it, say Shane wins at Mania. On Raw, Shane could bring Sting out and say how he's such a legend, but his wwe career been lackluster. He could say how Triple H took advantage of his power and booked himself against Sting at Mania. He proposes that he makes the dream match that should have happened then, being the final match..Sting vs Undertaker at WM 33. How could he do it? Because he can.
Maybe a stipulation could be that the winner takes Shane's place as the GM.

Why would Sting need to drop from ceiling? When he did this in the past it was for a grand ring entrance. With the match taking place inside Hell in a Cell in would place him on top of the cage. I guess it would be some what exciting and something new to see, some just showing up on top, but I'm not sure how necessary or effective it would be.

Yes, sadly, I don't think at this point we're ever going to see --- although, I would still love to lol. I think my idea is a bit more basic. Undertaker still loses to Brock, and at Mania 31, he also loses to Bray. Going 21-2.

Sting BEATS Triple H, which is what should've happened anyway, but that's another story.

The next on Raw, Taker comes out and says every man must fall, I am just a man, I don't have it anymore, and it's time for Undertaker to go.

Out comes Sting, who says "Not so fast, Deadman. I want you for one more, Wrestlemania 32 in Dallas." They could play into the fact that Sting has said NUMEROUS times in interviews and media outlets that he badly wants to face Undertaker and will do what he has to do to get the match. Undertaker says no, walks off, and Raw goes off the air. That's the official tease.

2015 roles on, you can still do the match with Seth Rollins with Sting losing. Maybe throw in the idea of Sting saying "I'm going to beat Seth for the title and challenge Undertaker to a title match". Sting can still lose and disappear again. Sting eventually returns in February 2016, calling out Taker, eventually Undertaker returns and accepts.

Simple, basic build and I don't think you need to have both guys on TV cutting promos every week either. Less is more with characters like these. In honestly, even in 2016, I still think the match could be decent.

Of course, Taker wins, and both men retire.

I would bet my house on the fact we will never see a match between the two, I just thought it'd be cool to see how people would book it. I went with the War Games style match at Survivor Series because it would allow WWE to be able to mask what both men have lost as far as speed and agility go by making it a team matchup instead of 1 on 1, plus it's a match that Sting has been linked to during his WCW career, being excluded from only 3 PPV versions of it(GAB 1987, Fall Brawl '94 & '97) and was involved in multiple 'Lethal Lockdown" matches which was TNA's version. Undertaker is no stranger to battling inside a cage, combine that with the fact both men debuted at Survivor Series and you've got a battleground.

Like I said all in good fun

Hopefully we never see these 2 geezers in the same ring together. Both are a shell of their former selves and would only remind us of that.

Well we won't now as Sting officially retired at the HOF... and he's not the kind of guy to go back on that.

Genuinely I wouldn't book this now... it'd be an abomination unworthy of what they were. Now had Sting come over in 94... then it's worth thinking about...

Royal Rumble 1994 - Taker is facing Yoko in the casket match, when the heels come down to try and help... Suddenly Sting explodes from the casket and starts cleaning house... This is pre-Darkness sting and he is being positioned as All-American face, stars and stripes paint etc... After Mania 10 - Where he faces Shawn Michaels for the IC title and beats him, we come to Survivor Series, where he is on Taker's team against Ted DiBiase's fake Taker and a now heel Lex Luger.

There is a miscommunication between he and Taker which sees Taker eliminated... Sting however manages to be Sole Survivor, last beating Luger.

As we go into The Rumble, the miscommunications continue, with Taker (who is not in the Rumble) inadvertantly causing Sting's elimination in trying to get rid of "Fake Taker" and costing Sting his chance to go to Wrestlemania against Diesel. The stage is set for a great "Face vs Face" match between Taker and Sting at Mania, after Taker puts Sting in a bodybad (the first time he's used one in years) and his "druids" take him away... Sting doesn't apeear on camera except via cryptic vignettes about death and rebirth and at Mania he debuts the "Crow" persona and defeats The Undertaker...

Yes folks, the "streak" never gets past 4 and ends at Mania 11... and Undertaker begins his transition from attraction to legit main eventer... he continues his path facing off against guys like Bret, Shawn and Sting many times over the coming years. Sting's "patriotic" fan favourite has been replaced by this darker character, the "cost" of his brush with "death" and defeating The Undertaker.

What I would do is he undertaker in the ring, talking about how wrestlemania is his yard. Lights out. When they come back on, a trenchcoat and a bat are in the ring....and a spotlight shines on the wrestlemania sign. A crow would be perched on the sign as the lights go back out.

Of course we all want to see that but Vince is against the idea of having Steve Borden vs Mark Calloway period! Could have worked in WCW days where Eric listened to the wrestling fans and gave us what we wanted and asked for! Mc Moron doesn t care he has noone tro compete against and he is too busy being immature brat who likes to squash his competitors like TNA so he lets these ex TNA stars lose to wwe stars look at AJ Styles now ? Laughable! Zack Ryder took him 20 years if not more to get the IC title a major jobber. It may happen when STING comes from under the ring in the hell in the cell match but I don t see it happening so its wishful thinking
I was the first one who said Shane may use STING as his opponent against Underflaker but he should retire or he ll end up wheelchair bound
