How would you book an Edge vs. Christian feud?

Now, this is a topic that's been done several times before surely, but I think that since we may actually finally be getting a real EvC feud, the time has come to once again delve into the topic of how you would set one up.

Edge vs. Christian is absolutely a Wrestlemania main event, in my opinion. It should be given a slow build, extending all the way until the next Wrestlemania. Edge and Christian have so much history between them, are both great workers both in-ring and on-mic, and can play off each other perfectly. I wouldn't want to see them have an actual one-on-one match until Wrestlemania. For months we can have small interactions between the heel Edge and face Christian. Perhaps Christian can slip in some small shots at Edge in little video packages and vice bersa. They don't even have to meet face to face, just implant the thought into the crowd's heads as they go have separate feuds on their respective brands.

Come Wrestlemania time, they could easily make a story out of all the digs they've been taking at each other and their whole history. Even better, it could be a TLC match at Wrestlemania. I think that would be a perfect way to end a personal feud that we have been waiting to see for years.

i don't know how do it as they are on different shows. Maybe bragging rights they could have a match or at the royal rumble one of them could eliminate the other. It will just be on hold till then.

Id have them running in to each toher back stage at most ppv's at interviews and build it up 2 summerslam and have a match there , then same again at bragging rights and have each guy win one. Then elimination at the rumble by one on the other and build it up 2 WM27 and have Edge vs Christain TLC

I like the idea of Edge eliminating Christian after:

a) having a tag team run
b) have them "align" at royal rumble and have Edge turn on Christian and throw him out.

Then you have Christian receive a match with Edge at Wrestlemania. They both are very skilled performers and deserve a 20-30 minute match.

THE ONLY WAY to make this feud be a 100% success though is to have Christian defeat Edge BY PINFALL OR SUBMISSION. No screwjobs, no dq's, no countouts. This would elevate Christian to the next tier and have lots of fans happy.

I think a tag team reunion. I would like to see Edge and Christian go against the Hart Dynasty and number of times. Then Edge accidentally hit the spear on Christian. They go back to their brands, then boom, they see each other at the Rumble. Where Christian eliminates Edge to go to Wrestlemania. Edge shocked, spears him 3 times, and makes him the full heel in the feud. Then Edge sneaks the title at EC, and kill switch the next night on raw to set up for the main event at Wrestlemania. That main event would be a 60 minute iron man match. Why a 60 minute iron man match, because these two could easily pull that off.

I bet everyone after smackdown on friday was thinking 'this is the main event of wrestlemania 27' or something along the lines of that.

Since that it the case, here's what will happen, a predictible thing would be having christian winning the royal rumble by eliminated edge then having edge win the world title at elimination chamber then go from there. Not sure what kind of storyline it could turn out to be but if what i jsut said happens i would just be like... -__-

Christian would have to win this feud. Otherwise, he will be buried in mid-card hell for the rest of his career. Edge is already a main eventer and always will be, so...

Easy way - Have Christian traded back to RAW and have him annoy the hell out of Edge. Hilarity would ensue. Frustration would build in Edge until the point where he can't take it anymore and asks for a match versus Christian himself. I would love to see this happen actually.

Hard way - Build Christian up as a major face on Smackdown and win the Rumble. He challenges Edge at Wrestlemania. It takes longer, but the drama would be awesome.


That being said, I think they should wait on Edge vs Christian. I'm really looking forward to the Edge vs Orton feud they've started up.

Realisticly this feud will nvr happen unless Edge and Christian were on the same show, but a feud could ignite at Bragging Rights or The Royal Rumble but most likely at The Royal Rumble by having sum type of problem between the two during the match preferibly having Edge screw over Christian in sum mannor.

After that the two could square off a couple of times both on Raw and Smackdown leading to a match at the Elimination Chamber PPV and hav it continue all the way to Wrestlemania where we as fan will be blessed to see a TLC match between the two but no matter who wins the match it should be a clean victory like waylonmercy said. no matter who wins it should be a classic match and will elevate Christian to the next level tho a win for him would make him seem like World Heavyweight Championship material.

Like whats been said, the Predictable thing would be have Christian or Edge win the Royal Rumble and challenge the other to a Match at Wrestlemania 27 and boom there you go.

But I like to go into a bit better detail. So here's how I'd book it... Beware, its long.

Jack Swagger retains the World Heavyweight Championship until Money in the Bank, why, to build him up as a credible Champion, hes beaten Jericho, Edge, Orton, Big Show, and 3 other guys at Fatal Four Way ( Maybe Kane, Big Show, Christian ), and now is time for Christian to take it away from Swagger, Christian wins and becomes World Heavyweight Champ, the feud begins between Swagger and Christian, already done, yes, but now its for a real belt, and not the WWECW belt.

At the same time, the Edge begins his feud with Randy Orton and it goes until Money in the Bank, and guess who wins the match.. Edge. Edge is the new Money in the Bank winner, for a Third Time, and begins playing with mind games with whoever the current WWE Champion is ( John Cena, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton whoever ) but never uses it.

This is were it gets interesting, right around Night of Champions, Edge starts appearing on Smackdown! and starts running out after every Christian match, which eventually, makes Christian lose the World Heavyweight Championship, at either Night of Champions or Hell in a Cell to anyone on the Smackdown! roster, ( Kane, Swagger, 'Taker, Mysterio, CM Punk preferably ).

Now its Royal Rumble time. Edge, still Mister. Money in the Bank V 3.0, see's his opportunity to cash it in when the then World Heavyweight Champion ( Whoever ), and wins the World Title once again... Or not, Christian comes out just as Edge is about to win and hits the KillSwitch on Edge, the crowd is Roaring now, Edge loses becoming the first man ever to not win the Title after winning Money in the Bank. Edge is furious, clips of him backstage are shown with him destroying everything.

The Rumble begins, we get down to the last 5 men and 1 man still left, its Christian. Edge goes nuts, he wants him, hes wants to destroy Christian, but as hes waiting someone throws him over the Ropes, and Edge is gone, it gets down to men left, Christian and ( Insert Name Here ). Everyone thinks Christian is going to win, but, as hes about to, Edge comes and interferes, Christian loses.

No one knows what going to happen, both cut promos on Raw and Smackdown! with altercations with both, it is now Elimination Chamber ( Or whatever it'll be called ) and both Edge and Christian are in there respective brands Match. Before the Smackdown! match starts, Edge attacks Christian just like he did with Kofi Kingston 2 years ago, Edge wins the World Heavyweight Championship just like the last time.

He goes into the Raw Chamber and gets down to the Final Two, him and Cena or whoever, and everyones thinking Edge is gonna pull this off, become the new Undisputed WWE Champion, but, Christian comes and threw the Cage pulls Edges leg, he is distracted long enough for the other Wrestler to hit his finisher and win the match.

The next night on Raw Edge makes an announcement saying hes move to Smackdown!, just as he says that, Christian comes and attacks him.

The next night on Smackdown! it is announced that Christian will be facing Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 27!

The build up is amazing, some of the best Promo's in the PG Era, the match is better then great, the crow goes nuts as Christian goes over Edge, and becomes a Two Time World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania.

I get a possibility of seeing a Cash in at the MITB this July. Edge mite win the title at
F4W "possibly" or at MITB for the WHC, and Christian mite cash it in on MITB. Then we mite have a Summerslam match in a TLC probly or ladder match . But only problem is that there cant be 2 titles on smackdown at the same time if they want2 have Christian win?

The way I would like to see it happen is like Jordan-Dixon said, keep having them bump into each other every now and then, slowly build it up from now. Maybe come Survivor series (or whatever they end up calling it) Christian could get a title shot and Edge could watch and ultimately "Inadvertently" cost Christian the match. They could then play up Christian never winning and always just missing out.

Christian could then brush it off, Edge eventually winning the same title at TLC, defends it at RR and EC despite Christian trying to cost him as a "revenge", playing up the whole opportunist side of Edge. Eventually it leads to a title shot for Christian, Edge could try to stop him in numerous ways, stacking the odds against him. However Christian wins at WM giving us a Benoit-type moment!!

This is how I would book it...
Summerfest...I mean Summerslam, I would have Christian win the title over Swagger and Edge beat Cena for the title. Then over the next 2 months have them win, Edge by cheating, Christian by clean pins. Have them talk trash, Christian says he carried the E&C tag team, Edge saying how hes a better super star and he has proved it. Then come the Bragging Rights PPV hold a Title vs Title only for it to end in a DQ by the number 1 contenders from each show interject and destroy Edge and Christian. This causing E&C teaming up for a series of shows and a few PPVs, eventually winning the Tag Titles in December with Christian getting the wins. Now comes the build up for the Rumble, E&C talking about how they are the best, yadda yadda yadda. Rumble time, each has to defend their title plus the tag titles early in the show. E&C successfully defend the tag titles. Edge has his title match next, Christian helps him get a win. Next up Christians title match, it looks like he is going to pull it out only for Edge to finally show his jealousy and spear Christian behind the back of the ref. Christian loses his title. In the back Christian is fuming and looking for Edge, but is nowhere to be found. Finally Edge jumps Christian from behind backstage, beating him down. When asked why he did it, Edge says he was tired of Christian getting all the glory, that he is the TRUE man behind E&C. Edge leaves the arena. The Royal Rumble starts and goes on...and on...and on. The 30th man in is....CHRISTIAN!!! He wins the Rumble. The next night on Raw, he makes his decision, he is facing Edge at Wrestlemania. Here comes the build up...Edge cost them the titles on TV , be spearing Christian and walking away. At the Elimination Chamber PPV, Christian gets his rematch for his title, but Edge interferes and runs in the Chamber when its down the final 2, only to spear Christian and allows the Champ to retain...On to March. same build up, Wrestlemania time. After great mic work by both men, the match is here and its a 2 out of 3 falls count anywhere match. Edge gets the first fall about 10 mins in after hitting a spear out on the floor. After battling out on the floor and in the audience, Christian gets the second fall in the ring. Next fall wins, they fight through out the arena out one area and in through another. Edge sets Christian up for the Edge DDT on the announce table, only for it to be reversed in to the Killswitch. BAM! Through the table, Christian pins Edge and gets the 3rd fall for the TITLE!!!

Now...this is a long storyline and we know the WWE doesnt have the brains to pull this off. More than likely they will build up for 2 months max. Its a shame...think this would be more intriguing.

Yeah I think have both of them come to one brand, doesnt matter which one. From the ppv before Survior Series make both of them join together for a tag team hcampionship and make them win. At Survivor Series, Team E&C takes on whoever was the former tag team champs. At TLC Make E&C vs. Former tag team champs in a TLC match. E&C will retain. Throughout this whole time both are going to have tension saying that either one is the better, so they are not exactly like they were before. On RR last 3 men left Edge Christain and some 1 else, Edge spaers Christian out, but them he is eliminated by the winner. Both men are angry at each other and Edge is shown top be making a heel turn. In the following weeks they lose thier belts when Edge turn on Christian, making him the heel. Who is the better man in the tag team, we'll see at Wrestlemania. Christian wins then on ER, TLc match between E&C again for a number one contender match. Christain wins agin, becomes number 1 conteder, and Edge is injured for a while.

I expect there will be an Edge Vs Christian match at some point in the future, but i dont think it will be for some time yet. They are keeping these guys seperate and not forcing the match so as to build it well hopefully. I mean they will cross each other's paths for the next 18 months or so, honestly i see this being Wrestlemania 28 if all goes well, not 27. I see them crossing paths at PPV's and occasionally on their own brands but for the most part they will go there seperate ways, i see Christian as a champion on Smackdown sooner than not and Edge as a champion on Raw and hey, what better match to merge the titles with that Edge Vs Christian?

I just started watching WWE again so I may be wrong but before if you won the Royal Rumble you got a Title shot at WrestleMania. I don't know if that is still the case but I would love to see something where at the Rumble Christian thinks he is the last man standing and is in the ring celebrating but he doesn't know that Edge is the 30th man. Edge runs down, no music, sneak attacks Christian and throws him over the top rope to win. Christian is furious and Edge gets some serious heat from the crowd. Announcers can play it all up to. Christian then demands a match against Edge at WrestleMania but the GM, or Vince or Whoever says that match can't be done since Edge gets a match for the Title at WrestleMania. Edge keeps going out, running his mouth how Christian will never be as good as him and how he wishes he could fight Christian but he has more important matches to fight.

Christian then demands a spot in the Elimination Chamber match for the Title because he wants Edge at WrestleMania. GM says he can get a spot in the Elimination Chamber if he beats all the other four contenders (not the champ) who will be in the Elimination Chamber. Each week Christian takes on one of the contenders and wins to get the 5th Spot for the Title. After each match too Christian can say how he is coming for Edge and the announcers can talk Christian up, saying how they never seen him this heated before, How Christians hatred for Edge has unleashed a side of Christian they have never seen before. Elimination Chamber comes and after a epic battle Christian gets the win and becomes World Heavyweight Champion.

Now they have a solid month of promos, attacking one another on the rival show, etc. The WrestleMania comes and the two put on a epic battle everyone will remember.

I think for this to work though they need to push Christian into a Upper Card wrestler. I think it would work better if he wasn't at the Main Event stage though just because they would want to keep Christian a underdog type character up until Royal Rumble. At the Royal Rumble you get this feeling of the underdog winning it and then NOPE Edge comes and wins the match. Then you will have that month that Christian has to prove that he is a main event wrestler by winning every match to get into the Elimination Chamber, helping build the underdog gimmick. Then once Christian wins the title at the Elimination Chamber he would be brought to the main event stage, right before the big match at WrestleMania.

I can see it happening as edge will go over cena at summerslam and come onto both smackdown and raw and will keep nonstop bragging to where a point christian comes out to shut edge up, where edge will bring up that christian has never won a championship, and edge will end up costing christian a shot at the title, then christian costs edge his title to a point where they will battle at some PPV. But thats what i think

Simples,

For shock value, I'd have Christian win the world title at Fatal 4 way, and Edge be the guy pinned in his fatal 4 way then at Summerslam (Christian/title match) and Edge/Orton throwaway match, I'd have Edge come out and cost whoever the match enabling Christian to win, which would have people confused, only for on RAW Edge to come out and annouce he's been traded to SD for someone like erm Drew Macntyre.

Then at night of champions I'd give Edge a title shot, which I'd build around Christian dominating Edge and winning the match, which would enleash the beast, crazed Edge, so at Hell in A Cell we've got the rematch, which I'd have Edge win, then come bragging rights, I'd have Edge/Christian on the same team vs raw, and Edge and Christian start fighting that they can't co-exist, leading to RAW winning, then come Survivor series, I'd have a 6 pack challenge with all of team smackdown, I'd have Edge win, but have it where Christian was screwed, leading into TLC which would be their blow off match, with Christian winning, then come Royal Rumble, I'd have Christian retain against someone like CM Punk, then at the following PPV Elimination Chamber I'd give it to someone like Edge or whoever for Wrestlemania, with Christian facing Edge in maybe a street fight to finish the feud.

That above is what I'd do, but chances are it won't happen, unfortunatly they couldn't really hold off a year for this, but I'd love to see them trade wins like Cena/Orton but with Christian coming out the winner overall after a couple of screw jobs by Edge.

I can't see it happening now that they are on separate shows but it may happen on bragging rights where they get a little rivalry.
Even so I think Edge would win by somehow distracting the referee...

I don't think they'll do it anytime soon. I was sure that they'd move Christian to Smackdown during the draft but then they threw me a curve and sent Edge back to Raw. Christian's been back for over two years now and they haven't been on the same brand, just seems by the time they're finally united he'll have been back so long people won't care as much.

But, I would be interested in seeing it, so I'll chip in my ideas.

I think this is a basic case of Christian wanting people to respect him like they do Edge. Edge would cut a promo about how great he is, Christian would interrupt and point out that they came from the same origins, both captured solo titles, but while he was away Edge rose to the top and people forgot that Christian is just as good as he is. Edge would throw insults, claim he carried their team, he's far superior etc, ongoing promo war, somewhat friendly (at first) rivalry where they wrestle the same opponents, try and one-up each other, gloat to each other when they win, do commentary on each other's matches.

Depending on how long a feud this is wanted to be, it could then go straight to a one-shot singles match, or to extend things, it could be a respectful, straight-up match with Edge getting an underhanded win. Christian would chastise him and point out he needed to cheat to beat him. Edge's temper would rage and he'd demand they have a rematch to prove he truly is better. Then you repeat the original build, but it begins to get more personal. They start costing each other matches. A run-in Spear here, a Killswitch while the ref isn't looking there, general foul play leading to their rematch.

I'd personally have Edge go to cheat again, but then, because he's become obsessed with proving himself, second-guess it, put a chair he was going to use down or something, and then Christian would catch him with a cradle or the Killswitch and get the win.

THEN the final stretch. In Christian's mind he's proved his point, in Edge's he only won because Edge went against his instincts. Each would have their own merits, and they would argue their points over time. Christian would continuously embarrass Edge, cost him a match against a lowly opponent, outsmart him etc. and Edge's temper would boil over, the classic close-ups of him gritting his teeth with those crazy eyes, pulling his hair out.

I honestly think either man could go over in the feud. Putting Christian over would solidy him as a main-eventer, but losing wouldn't hurt him, he'd have hung in there with Edge, and the status quo of Edge winning out in the end would be retained. I think Edge should go over with the one-man-conchairto, but that may be a no-no under the new rules. Whoever wins would win clean in a No DQ match to eliminate any doubts. There's no shame in losing clean in a No DQ match, so it's a good ending to a feud as both can come out looking strong.

It's all about respect and oneupsmanship.

Nothing. A better feud would be an E&C vs Hardy and CM Punk. Theres no reason to not turn Hardy heel because he has nothing going for him and joining the SES would make people give more attention to it. I would love to see those TLC macthes. But if I had to....

It would be a Edge heel vs Christian face. Edge is always cheered anyway and as a heel people will cheer him more. You could make it between a chick again, like Hardy and Lita. In this case it should be Melina. She already has the "****" persona going for and if they bring it back no one will notice it was gone because no one was paying attention. Have her and C go out and then Edge pops up out of nowhere and attacks C. Melina tries to help C and we cut to commercial. Back from commercial and we see Melina in Edge's locker room knocking on the door. He opens it and she asks him why he did that. He says he deserved it and something about jealousy and finally he says because he loves her. They kiss passionate. A grudge match is announced. Stipulation. C tells Melina she can choose by who wins. Match begins. Edge plays fair for the first half and towards the end Melina distracts the referee and Edge goes for a low blow. Cover...1..2..3! Edge celebrates with Melina. They gloat over C who's laying in the ring. Perfect feud that can last for ages.

SCRO Im sorry man but a feud over a chick??thats too simple and too classic (not saying that my idea is better or anything).

I would do it kinda the feud between HHH and HBK started back in 02 but a little bit more complexe.

so Swagger vs Christian, Christian new champ blablabla next feud against CM Punk (I dream about this match!!!) on the title match the SES interferes and CM new champ. Rematch time: the same thing CM still champ by the interference of the SES, so Christian he goes feuding against Gallows and Mercury but he always lose. sice they are "too much for him alone" he says he needs a tag team partner ideal and there could be only one man for this job good ol Edge

So its back E&C cause obviously Edge accepts however in the night of their celebration/reunion in the "5 seconds pose" moment BOOOM!!!!!! Edge spears totally out of nowhere Christian, make him a totally dick I mean heel. then the promo and feud began:

you have Edge sayin that he doesnt need a tag team he is a main eventer not like Christian who was and is a loser blablablaba I won KOTR and RR whereas Christian won the WWECW and WHC only to Swagger blablablablablabla and you have the match not necessarilly (spelling? sorry) for a world title but just cause its personal until they both are in a triple threat against CM (again I dream about this match!) where Edghe wins by cheating and then have it for the WHC and culminates at TLC not at Mania and Christian wons proving himself better!

I would love to see a Christian vs. Edge match, but since its something the fans want I doubt Vince is going to pony up on it. Asides, Vince definitely still has something against Christian.

I dont see Christian ever becoming world champion or wwe champion, no matter how much I want to see it.

You all have great ideas, but unfortunately WWE creative doesnt have half the brainpower as the fans on this site.

You realize LSEM, that my idea will never happen anyway because of the PG. But that's what I would do. WWE needs classic ideas because they've done everything else. When was the last time it was over a chick? Everything they do now is the same. Heel vs Face. Face does face stuff and Heel does heel stuff. Where the storyline? All they do are tactics. They get nowhere and that's why we complain. A story make it interesting.
