How to sell 75,000 tickets for the Rumble

jJCo5eJ.gif

this is the seating chart for royal rumble.

I bought 2 tickets for 90 bucks each in section 141. 141 is behind the stage damn near. please tell me this seating chart is wrong. I sure hope to god it is

the cheapest seats on the plaza level are in 129 based on the chart. :wtf:

I went to a second hand ticker seller just to check it out. Their chart shows the stage at the opposite end and section 141 is in the corner facing the tron. So I have no idea what chart is right.

Here is the link so you can see for yourself. http://www.vividseats.com/sports/wwe-royal-rumble-tickets/wwe-royal-rumble-1-29-2166125.html

Some of the cards and ideas that other posters have put forth is viable, but the Rumble is in January just a couple of months before Mania itself. You can't run two huge shows that close together. What you risk doing is taking your Mania attendees away. And if truth was to be told, I would rather go to Mania than San Antonio. Much more to see and do in Orlando. A lot of people won't be able to go to both.

Someone said that Vince is trying to put the WWE in the same vein as football, baseball and basketball, and in a way that's true, but it only works once a year and that's at Mania. We also don't know what kind of run up there will be this year for the Rumble and Mania with a new brand split in effect. Maybe Vince should wait until next year to start breaking attendance records.
You're right.

But still WWE does have the potential to make damn good cards for both Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania 33. The Undertaker would surely be present at Wrestlemania 33. Plus Wrestlemania itself draws. Royal Rumble not so much?

Have Undertaker compete at Royal Rumble. Plus Brock Lesnar will already be there. And if it's really AJ Styles Vs. Shawn Michaels or Kurt Angle then Royal Rumble could easily be a success.

Texas, it's simple have Austin and hbk there in some capacity, maybe even some other older guys from the terrorist as well, esp ones that could make a one night appearance in the rumble itself.

For the life of me, I don't understand why fans who aren't actually going to the event actually care about ticket sales. Whether the place is full or almost full isn't going to make or break the show.

Well considering the Rumble is one of the big four and the winner will most likely main event Mania, playing to anything but a fully packed house doesn't look that great. How many times on the LD thread have people commented on the crowd, whether they are dead or lively? So it does impact those of us who are watching on TV.

If the crowd is horrible then it takes away from the show, if they chant ridiculous things that too takes away from it. Very few times do you get a good crowd that cheers the faces and boo's the heels, they are usually all over the place. And we do complain about them.

But in essence you are right, I'm not going so don't really care if Vince makes his money and breaks a new attendance record. I only care about watching it on TV and not getting a shitty crowd.

The size of the crowd =/= the quality of the crowd. I dislike crowds that care more about getting themselves over than they do about just enjoying the show for what it's worth, but that's a different topic altogether. I'll take a smaller crowd whose enthusiastic about the show over a larger crowd that chants stupid shit to chant stupid shit every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

The camera angles will do whatever it takes to make the place look full to the folks watching at home anyways.

WWE shouldnt have any issue selling 75,000 tickets for this event. It is the second biggest PPV of the year and even non wrestling fans enjoy the Rumble! A strong undercard, almost Wrestlemania worthy always helps and getting more eyes on the product before we hot Wrestlemania is vital. I say really go for it!!!

HOST: Shawn Michaels
Hometown hero hosts the show to put bums on seats and eyes on the PPV.

NO DQ MATCH: Brock Lesnar vs Rusev
Lesnar needs a dominant win to bring back his mystique. Have him roll over Rusev and absolutely destroy him.

INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE: The Miz (c) vs Open Challenge (Shinsuke Nakamura)
Have the Miz challenge anyone on the Smackdown roster to challenge him. Have Shane McMahon come out and introduce his newest signing Nakamura.

UNITED STATES TITLE: Roman Reigns (c) vs Braun Strowman
Strowman needs some competition. Have him win the US Title and head into Mania as a Champion.

UNIVERSAL & WORLD TITLE: Kevin Owens (c) vs AJ Styles (c)
Continue the Raw vs Smackdown story line and put both champions against each other. They can't do this at Mania because of the Rumble stipulation. Have Owens/Raw score the win to set the record level.

ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH
Advertise Goldberg and as taking part.
Leak rumours on Kurt Angle taking part.
Throw in the surprise return of John Cena.
