So lets just assume that the ItBegins promo's are meant for Jericho and that he wants to face CM Punk at WrestleMania. Here's how I feel WWE will build the storyline:
You have CM Punk come out on the RAW after TLC talking about beating 3 other superstars (Cena, Del Rio and Miz) and thus cementing his place as the best in the world. When he says he needs new challengers out comes Ziggler. They have words and Ziggler is given a match by the GM of whomever that may be of which if he wins, he faces Punk at Royal Rumble.
Ziggler wins and starts his TV feud with Punk. Punk and Ziggler have altercations until the RAW of the 2nd of January. The promo of which ItBegins is played like Taker's last year and this time we get Jericho appear in the segment saying Best in the World.... End of the World.
He comes out with a dark and sadistic yet still cocky character and does a strange dark promo with a weird tone to it. Claiming he's back to take what is his. He then goes on to say the day of which this will take place is April 1st, the location Miami Florida and the Victim CM Punk. Punk's had enough and comes out to shut up Jericho. They both exchange words in a rather edgy promo. Jericho says something along the lines of Punk can't save Professional Wrestling only Jericho can but he won't. He says the new generation of which Punk keeps talking about will be no more. He claims he'll win the Rumble and challenge either a titleless or a WWE Champion Punk.
Royal Rumble and Punk succesfully retains and beats Ziggler. Jericho and John Cena are the only guys left in the Rumble but out comes The Rock to help eliminate Cena saying he just wants to take him on not for any title.
Jericho wins the Rumble challenging Punk for the title at WrestleMania. On the Raw's leading up to WrestleMania. Jericho tries to play mind games with The Voice of the Voiceless. Making his best-friend Colt Cabana turn on him (Yes, WWE sign him up please), bring back his favourites such as Stone Cold to abuse him on the mic and just keep getting in his head.
Yet Punk still prevails managing to beat Jericho and afterwards in a HBK/Jericho-esque type spot, they share a hug and a handshake. Two amazing athletes with one passing the torch to the other. Jericho however continues putting over talent.
