She's not going to kill herself because a guy doesn't want a text from her every 5 minutes. Seriously. Even girls who stop talking to the boyfriend they were completely in love with don't do that. She's nothing more than an attention ****e. Oh and sometimes you have to be nice to be mean. Say something like "I'm not being funny, but I'm really busy with work/school/family life etc. and I can't be glued to my phone every few minutes. I'm not texting ANYONE lately so don't take it personally but my life is just out of control right now. I'll text you when things calm down or if I've got a few minutes, but you need to calm down a bit because I feel bad when I can't reply and you must feel bad when I don't. Text some of your other friends and we'll catch up in a bit"

The simplist method I find is just to delay your replies- eventually people get used to the fact that you won't reply for a couple of hours. But generally you have to be carefull with who you go out with. I used to go out with a guy that cut himself every so often and threatened suicide once. It ended with a pretty bad breakup for both of us. Best way to avoid any trouble is to make sure you both know what the other wants in the relationship.

Either way, you could always just tell her you're changing your phone number, direct her to somewhere else, god knows she might take a few weeks or months to realize it.
