How Can Brodus Clay Make An Impact?

OPPS FEEL FREE TO MERGE THIS WITH THE OTHER BRODUS CLAY THREAD (DIDNT SEE IT THERE EVEN THOUGH I LOOKED, MUST HAVE JUST OVER LOOKED IT)
I never really like the dude as a entertainer, but he seems to be getting alot behind him. i was just wondering how are they going to bring him in, or what they should do with him.

To me a couple great ways in to get him involved with Swagger/Ziggler heel stable, and try to actually build for a traditional tag match against Ryder&Kofi&Mason. and others.

another way is getting him involved in the CM Punk/Del Rio fued. cause last we heard of brodus was on smackdown and Del Rio's bodyguard.

So my question is:
How do you think they should bring in Brodus Clay?

Your Thoughts on Brodus Clay?

Brodus clay doesn't have the look I would I to see. I think he could be used as a comical character to best portray his talent. Maybe put him with hornswaggle a few months and see what kind of skits they can do. I don't mind one or two skits on a show as long as the right people are being used. Brodus screams comedy with his fat overweight persona.

I'm not really a fan of Clay, but if WWE wants this guy to make an impact they can't do the usual bullshit of having him only beat jobbers. Sheamus was supposed to be this monster heel at first yet struggled to beat mid-carders and never scored a clean pinfall over the top guys. The main reason Mark Henry has done well is because WWE has stuck to their guns and had Henry pin Orton TWICE...CLEAN!!! It would be inane to build Clay as this monster that's only beating guys like Tyson, Trent and likely Morrison only to get pinned by Cena or Orton. I'm not saying put him over the top guys right away, but have him beat guys that are credible.

Easy have him dominate the joe blows on RAW/Smackdown and wait till Survivor Series have him join a team and eliminate say 3 out of 5 guys before getting himself DQ'ed. Then come WWE Championship match time I'd have him come down and cost CM Punk the Championship so WWE can keep the belt on Del Rio longer and at TLC have Punk/Clay in a tables match with Punk going over and getting his shot at Del Rio at the Rumble or RAW around New Year with Punk winning the belt.

I'd also bring back the Hardcore title (new belt) give it to Clay so the E can build the division around him and monster-crush gimmick all the while covering up any flaws he may have, I don't see WWE/World Championship material in Clay nor even the US/IC championships, maybe Tag with the right guy but the Hardcore division would suit the guy he has that fearsome look that could strike fear in most guys so have him run wild in that division have him unbeatable and when the time is right to take the belt off of him have someone like Big Show/Kane take it but WWE shouldn't build him up only to job in a few months.

The poster above me beat me to it. This guy just screams mean dude. If they want to build him up, I would have him bring back the hardcore title, and defend it against everyone. Have him just destroy the competition while giving him the belt so you have people want to see who can take it from this big guy. And since it is the hardcore belt, he could also beat upper mid card/ main event guys because they wont have to put him over cleanly. He could hit cena 10 times with the chair to win over him.

I see potential in Brodus Clay. I like what the WWE is doing trying to make him out to be a new monster heel. The wrestling industry is always in a need for monster heels because they're so useful in so many ways. Just look at how over Mark Henry got in a matter of months after being a midcarder for over a decade. How many times did John Cena and Randy Orton get over by giving their finishers to Mark Henry and other monster heels in the past?

What does Brodus Clay need to do to make an impact? Kick some ass. Make me believe that he's capable of fucking up any single guy on the roster. Squash a lower-midcarder, beat a main eventer, do some intense and angry promos. If WWE can convince me that I don't want to meet this guy down a dark alley, I'll believe the hype.

I don't know what you guys see in this guy. He's a comedy act and nothing more. They should do something with dunkin doughnuts and this guy.

As I said above I don't see the guy as either mid card nor WWE/World title material but I could see this guy dominating the hardcore divison. He has that mean look to him that WWE could build on as a destroyer, annihilator, maybe even an bodyguard/assassin for Del Rio and when the timing is right an example Extreme Rules or another none big 4 PPV have the guy job to Cena or Orton, only when he's got a reputation and looks like he could be a threat to the belt.

Obviously you don't understand the wrestling business other than backstage skits but WWE is a profitable business that needs fresh guys to build up and make intriging stars to have intriging matches with the top guys so they have fresh guys to face rather than the revolving door with the same guys. Even if they're jobbed out, it allow them and WWE the chance to build guys up.

Put it this way, if I was a wrestler I'd rather be in the hardcore division than mid card division, before you ask why it's simple, the hardcore division gives you a lot of scope for you to be unique, gain attention and be distinct. Standard matches don't give the guys much time or much space to gain attention but the Hardcore divison leaves a lot to the imagination and with guys like Clay it gives him a championship that isn't the main one but gets him known, imagine Clay the annihilator taken on say JoMo and his high flying highlight reel style would garner a lot of attention for the championship. I don't see Clay doing much in the singles division as far the standard match goes but hardcore rules I could see WWE making money on him.

The only thing I can think of is to have him Feud with Mason Ryan.... both need to be relevant. And mason Ryan seems to just be turning up every week just for the sake of being on television.

Brodus comes in... destroys some weaklings...and the powerful FACE confronts him... Bish Bash Bosh you have a Feud.

^ When was the last time WWE had a Hardcore match? I'm pretty sure the "Hardcore Division" is pretty much dead.

WrestleMania 22 in 2006 had a Hardcore match that was 4 years after they'd dropped the hardcore title, now i can think of a lot of hardcore matches that have happened lately, but been called falls count anywhere or street fights even no holds barred, one happened on Smackdown with Cody and Randy as in shown last night so no the hardcore division isn't dead, pretty much alive and kicking minus the broken up trinket

I've said it previously on the other thread, but I'll repeat it quickly....

Brodus debuts, destroys the jobbers, takes out a few mid-card guys.
U.S. Champion (preferably a face: Ryder/Ryan) confronts him...leads to a PPV title match. I'm thinking TLC.
A decent match proceeds where Clay while losing can still look badass, sets up a mini feud.

Now you can go two ways...

Have Clay eventually win the U.S. Title at Royal Rumble and dominate the mids a bit untli a main event spot opens up. Even place him in the Elimination Chamber match to see how he fares against some top guys.

Or...

While still feuding for the U.S. Title he enters the Royal Rumble match. Pulls off a "Kane-esque" number of eliminations before going over. Use that dominance to propell him into either a bigger U.S. Title attempt/win or justify his being in the Chamber Match.

While he doesn't need to win EC, he just needs to be impressive/dominant. It can show that he can hang. Brodus Clay does not need to be IN THE MAIN EVENTS for at least a calender year from now. But he needs to look like he could hang in them.

Also he needs to keep bringing it with the mic work. I've liked his promos before...they need for him to speak like that consistently. His "lemon juice/razor blade" promos was great for a rookie. His "take your heroes away" promo when he got eliminated from NXT was the best promo this year from someone who never held a title yet in WWE.

Make his debut on Smackdown and announce he's quiting to go back to Boring Town, population him......

He's a big guy, what do you think will happen?
He's gonna take out someone big - aka Taker, Kane or Big Show or maybe if Khali comes back for a one off match. then it's back to opener. or superstars. i'm sorry but he has less redeeming value then Mark Henry did for the longest time.

This is actually kind of easy, if you really want CM Punk to be the "E" champion then have Clay come up in Survivor Series and have him take out Del Rio. Have Punk go on to feud with the title with someone else and have Clay give a Promo and state the reason he cost ADR the title was because he never got the respect of ADR that he should have. He did help ADR alot before he got sent back down for repackinging. This could give ADR something to do besides go for the title and keep him relevant plus help push Clay...

Since Brodus is making his "return to raw this monday" ( The "E's" words not mine) , heres what i think they should do with him.

Next week on raw there is some sort match between Ryder, Ziggler, Ryan Swagger, Kingston ect.

The match ends in a Dq as the heels attack the faces and a brawl starts.

Then Clay comes out and attacks the faces, and as the heels celebrate:lol: brodus attacks them too.:wtf:

He gets interviewed about his actions and says one word "Respect" and he walks away.

He keeps attacking Mid carders and says "Respect" up until Suvivor Series
Where he costs Del Rio the title and Screams "Respect".

Punk gives him a title shot for earning his respect, and then we see where he goes and if he fits into the Main-Event.

It might be elevating him high too quickly but i think the waythey have been building him up this could be the best way

Well this idea Would be better if Mark Henry and Big Show were not the two feuding over the World Heavyweight Championship but I have a somewhat simple plan if the WWE really wants to push this guy, make him a giant killer. I never was a huge fan of him and I thought his spot as Del Rio's lackey was a mistake, this guy needs to be billed as the baddest and meanest of the big men on Raw and Smackdown, or atleast a guy who thinks he is. Have him start off by taking on Ryan and decimating him, then have him run on over to SD and throw a hurtin on Big Zeke. Now after that if he's done a good job selling his push and the fans are buying him as a force then send him after Big Show, by the time he's finished with Ryan and Zeke Show will most likely be done with Henry and the WHC. Then from there he's sold as a legit threat to Mark Henry and they have a close match with MH coming out on top, but Clay is looked at as legit. However if he's not ready for that the have him take out Ziggler for the US title, when I think of him as US champion I instantly think of Umaga's reign, I feel like he would make a good mid card champion on Raw and could be billed as a dominant mid carder til it's time for him to move on to bigger and better things.

I hate to sound like a booker from 1995, but I'd say it's a good idea to let him steamroll over some throwaway talent. Let him get a winning streak over the Santino Marellas and Johnny Curtises of the world.

After that, he can start going over midcarders and getting more airtime depending on the crowd reaction.

How do you think they should bring in Brodus Clay?
Bring him in as a heel, and have him squash a face. I wouldn't have him squash Ryder, have him squash Morrison or A-Ry someone who the fans love but that it wouldn't completely kill to have him beat.

Your Thoughts on Brodus Clay?
Hes got an unconventional look, and thats what sets him apart from everyone else on the roster. He's massive like Umaga was and with the right push and right gimmick he could step into that style of monster beast heel that the fans love to hate. No one expected Mark Henry to be where he currently is due to his many failed pushes, but hes not your typical poster boy Champion that the WWE usually pushes.

Umaga may not have been a technical master in the ring, but he was entertaining and brought 100% to every feud he was involved in.

If Brodus Clay can capture 1/4th of that he could be a believable threat to anyone on the other side of the ring. He's big, hes dominating, and we've all seen him work before. I think he could be a relatively big star if given the proper treatment

im a little skeptical bout him. to me, production is giving him NICE "debut" vids. let me go back to seamus. i had NO faith in him when cena jumped on a table, thus becoming wwe champ. now? 2 years later hes on my top current 5. back to brodus, hell make an impact. id love henry/clay at RR. but if they build and push clay by december, then WM. i hope creative is going for brodus clay mark henry wrestlemania 28. itll be quite interesting.

Jump up and down.

Nah in all seriousness, I thought he would fit great as a ... Kingpin kind of character. Something like that.

I like Clay. He's got a nasty look on him, he just needs better gear. No clue about his mic work, he's a huge guy, can't say he needs it, but when it comes to making an impact ... well he's the newest big guy on the roster, right? Could have him be the guy who dethrones Mark Henry and/or Big Show. Establish him as the new wrecking ball. He ain't no worse than Show or Henry. They're all fat, can't talk, they have a look. Change of scenery is all.

I feel like Brodus Clay has a hell of a lot of potential. He could become something special. Sure, he's not going to be an all-around performer, but there's no reason he can't slide into the niche that his predecessors have carved out. For guys like Big Show and Kane their time in the WWE is ending, they're coming to the end of the line and Brodus Clay can fill the spot they leave open. He has one of the most interesting looks I've ever come across and, as such, can be built as a monster.

Brodus Clay, to me, has all the tools to be the next great monster. The size, the look, and most importantly, the intensity. It won't take much work on the WWE's part to establish him, feed a few guys to him and let him tear them apart, that will offer him some instant credibility. The WWE have already been doing it with him on Superstars, he's beaten countless jobbers, it could easily translate over to Raw. On top of all that, he already had the one run with Del Rio as a bodyguard and looked fairly good doing it, there's no reason he can't go out on his own now. He's ready to make his mark.

Now, I don't think he'll be an instant main eventer or anything, but he could be a force in the mid card for quite some time until the WWE feel he's ready to come up. He certainly won't be a top guy for an extended period of time, but I can see him being a gate keeper to future main eventers, competing in some main events of his own. I don't think he'll ever win the big one, but there's no reason he can't main event a filler PPV or two.

He'll be a useful hand in the WWE mid card scene for years to come.

I love that they sent him to development for a little bit, and are bringing him in with these awesome weekly promos. The roster has been so chaotic, and I can't wait to see how they bring him in, and who they put him up against. It would help if they gave him some big wins, some good promo time and a decent opponent. Having him squash minor talents for months is boring, and I'd rather see him start out with a bang. He'll probably end up in one of the 5v5 matches at Survivor Series on the heel team, so that'll be a good rub for him. They also don't want to rush him too far, too fast. It took Sheamus a long time to rebound, and Clay is just too good a talent to waste.

When I first saw Brodus Clay, my first impression was along the lines: "here's another generic probably untalented big guy - well, at least his looks are a bit different".
But over time, I ate my words. I see potential on this guy. I think he's a monster heel waiting to be unleashed.

Right now, we already have a monster heel running rampant (Mark Henry), so it would probably a bit too soon to push him in that way.
Instead, for now I'd like to see him as a brawler that fights everyone, faces, heels, whatever. Give him a heelish attitude, but book him as if he was some kind of neutral character that only cares about the thrill of the brawl. Let him give promos about how he's here to fight, and he'll fight anyone that dares step in the ring with him.

Here comes Earthquake 2.0, that's what I think, that's who he reminds me of. A modern day equivalent. I never liked Earthquake.

These kind of gimmicks just turn me away. I don't like the big pissed off monster gig, it makes no sense to me and it's been done to death. Even worse, we've already got Mark Henry out there doing that very thing. I don't care for this guys look, I think Cena nailed it with the "King Hippo" comment, and that's all I see since then. I'm finding it hard to imagine how this guy will come in and put on any kind of a good match either, clearly he will be limited by his size. I just don't see what the real motivation behind all this is, what pay off is there to be pushing this him? So what, he's big, you've got a ton of big guys, we don't need another. Worse, I'm sure this will fall flat in no time. They'll try to MAKE it work and it will backfire because I see no way that people become interested in this dude at all, as a face or a heel. I think no matter what they do the reaction is going to be "Who Cares?".

I think they should do something different with Brodus. Nothing is more boring to me than seeing "generic monster heel #725" beating up on jobbers until he gets fed to a face then does nothing until he gets released. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT. Do something else for a change. Give the guy a gimmick that stands out. Have him do lots of promos that help the gimmick appeal to fans. The typical "big guy" push is so old. I really hope they do not go that route with Brodus. I'd rather he just go back to being Del Rio's bodyguard. What was wrong with him being in that role? It got Del Rio a second guy to have in his corner other than his announcer and it gave Brodus something to do. I say either have him work for Del Rio again or bring him in with something different because I swear if he gets another generic big guy push I will just fast forward past all of his matches or segments, I'm tired of seeing that with big guys all the time.

I think it is pretty obvious the guy is going to need some sort of manager or mouth piece. I think having him debut during a Swagger/Ziggler vs Ryan/Ryder match would be ideal. Clay takes out Ryder allowing Ziggler to win. Ryan then intervenes and Clay gets the best of him. Clay then takes out Jack Swagger to reveal him as the newest member of Vicki's stable. Ziggler very much approves. This would slot Clay into the role he had with ADR. He is the tag partner/enforcer/bodyguard for one of the sure fire next big things in Ziggler.

This also transitions Swagger to a face like I think he needs to be. I think teaming up Swagger and Alex Riley would make a great tag team.

i have no sympathy for brodus clay,at all.wat is the point of moving him to raw if they didnt even used him on smackdown.they are just wasting their time with fool of moving him to raw.u might as well send him back to fcw
