Many will vote for Dusty due to name value, but I voted for Tsuruta.

Many fans might name Misawa as All Japan's ace, and they could be right, but regardless Tsuruta is right there with him. Dusty never carried the NWA organization like Tsuruta carried All Japan. Tsuruta was the first Triple Crown champion, and was the one that gave the title its prestige. On top of that he won several NWA sanctioned belts that were often defended in Japan, and even held the AWA world championship for a few months, defeating Nick Bockwinkel. Dusty's NWA world title reigns were politically motivated within the alliance, and he was mostly used as a transitional champion. He was never portrayed as the alliance champion that Flair or Race were. Two men that Tsuruta faced as well.

I know who Tsuruta is and I still voted for Dusty Rhodes. Dusty Rhodes is one of the greatest speakers of all time, which is one of the most important skills in wrestling. Rhodes was the first person ever in all of wrestling in the whole world to win the title whilst having absolutely no legitimate credentials. Not only is that a watershed moment in the business, it's a pretty clear indictment of how good he was that the NWA felt they could back him that way. Rhodes wins.

Dream. All day. The man is more than a legend, he helped shape the future like few ever get a chance to do.
