Mid-Card Championship Winner
Daniel Bryan is injured. Rob Van Dam is finishing up this week. Chris Jericho and Brock Lesnar are both probably leaving after Night of Champions. Batista doesn't look like he's coming back anytime soon. Dean Ambrose is filming a movie. Christian and Rey Mysterio continue being AWOL. And there are reports that John Cena is working through an injury.

The midcard scene at Hell in a Cell probably won't be affected by these absences. They can easily do a couple of title rematches:
• Sheamus vs. Cesaro
• The Usos vs. GoldStar
• Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz (3rd time's the charm?)

Along with the couple of new feuds that have been teased on Raw the last couple of weeks:
• Jack Swagger vs. Bo Dallas
• Mark Henry vs. Rusev
• The Big Show vs. Bray Wyatt

But how about the main event scene?? Now, I think we can all be sure that Brock is retaining at Night of Champions and then taking time off, hopefully until Survivor Series, but it could possibly be more. I really doubt John Cena is going to take any time off during the champion's absence. But even if he doesn't, who do you think he'll face at Hell in a Cell??

The main event could easily feature Seth Rollins getting his ass kicked in the Cell. It will probably be Roman Reigns, but I would much rather it be Dean Ambrose if he can come back in time.

But what about Cena?? Unless Triple H decides to lace up the boots, I can't really see Cena pulling off a main event with anybody else. I guess you could throw him in the ring with Randy again, but damn, does anybody really want to see that??

So what do you guys think, what's going to be the Hell in a Cell main event?

I guess we could also get a John Cena vs. Rusev main event. I should've added that to the poll. They love building up monsters and feeding them to Cena.

If Ambrose is back by then, I would LOVE for him and Seth to blow-off their feud inside the Cell. Since it's the only program going on worthy of the Cell, it deserves to be the main event. Other than that, Reigns vs HHH is a strong possibility. Trips could be fed up with Roman destroying his guys by that point and want to demolish Reigns himself in the most brutal match imaginable.

This is, of course, assuming that Brock retains at NOC and takes the belt back to his Lesnar Cave on Skull Island for the next few months.

Like other people have said I would love to see the Ambrose vs Rollins feud culminate in a hell in a cell match at the event, and if wwe has any sense it will book this.

BUT

If this match was to happen I don't see it going on as the main event, for that I think they will just set up a random feud for John Cena to headline the show

Um, none of those choices. I should darn well think that Brock Lesnar will be defending his title. Rock managed it, so why not him?

Rock managed defending the title at 2 PPVs after winning it and then he bailed and never came back. Unless you want Brock to take Survivor Series through Elimination Chamber off, you should be happy he's working every 2 PPVs.

Ambrose finishes filming before Night of Champions - the actual filming is the quickest part of making a movie (hence why certain actors seem to pop up everywhere in one go); it would make sense for Ambrose v Rollins to end in the Cell.

It SHOULD have also been the WWE title rematch between Cena & Lesnar, with the Cell touted as 'Cena's equaliser', but WWE have rushed the rematch IMO

I think that the matches for Hell in a Cell should be Roman Reigns Vs Triple HHH in a cell AND Dean Ambrose Vs Seth Rollins in a cell, those two matches would be great specially ambrose vs rollins. I also think that Cena should take time off with him gone for a good few months the ppv won't do so bad because they'll have two quality matches and I also think that ambrose vs rollins would open the show BUT with the cell matches that take place today they aren't barberic anymore so that's what needs to happen at this ppv. Roman Reigns Vs Triple HHH would be a great main event as wellsp I think that those matches should happen.

I can hardly see how the cell would be Cena's "equalizer" in this scenario. Given Lesnar's MMA background, the cage is a natural setting for him...

Rollins v Ambrose would be a great ending to this chapter of their feud. There is still so much potential but I'd be happy if they wait a few months. These two in the cell an actual purpose - stopping Seth from running and Kane interfering - which they have built wonderfully.

Reigns v HHH is another match I want to see. HHH can put him over big time and it would be a very interesting match. HHH can really control the match and Reigns would be better for it. They still need to build Reigns up and a victory over one of the best heels in the company would do just that.

What happens with Brock is difficult to predict. I could see him dropping the belt to Rollins before HIAC. If that doesn't happen then he could just have a match with someone like Big Show or Sheamus.

Yeah the Cell is definitely a great place to blow off the Ambrose/Rollins feud. I suspect that Reigns vs. Rollins will happen at Night of Champions and it won't end cleanly with Ambrose making his return.

They did an excellent job of making the Lumberjack match unique and different from the norm at Summerslam, I'd LOVE to see what kind of shit these guys come up with for the Cell.

As for whether or not it should be the main event, who knows... Maybe Seth Rollins comes in as the World Champion. That would make it a credible main event.

Lesnar will still be WWE World Heavyweight Champion and if he is then it begs the question of who Lesnar will face? Because I honestly see him beating Cena

Hell in a Cell should be the blowoff to the Dean Ambrose / Seth Rollins feud, absolutely. But it won't be the main event. I originally thought Reigns vs Triple H in the Cell would be the main event of this show, but now I'm not so sure. I think they will drag Reigns vs Orton out to Hell in a Cell as well, and have that payoff here.

I'm starting to think Triple H costs John Cena the match at Night of Champions... and this PPV could be headlined by John Cena vs Triple H. Someone will interfere on Lesnar's behalf, and whoever that is will have a mini-feud with Cena. It could be as big as Triple H, or as small as Kane or Cesaro.

I'd leave Brock Lesnar off this show, and save him for a big match at Survivor Series.

So, the main event could be any one of the following:
John Cena vs Triple H
John Cena vs Kane (unlikely to main event)
John Cena vs Cesaro w/ Paul Heyman (unlikely to main event)
Roman Reigns vs Triple H
Roman Reigns vs Randy Orton

Yes but Lesnar is the champion and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will have to be defended at the Hell in a Cell pay per view but if not and WWE does leave Lesnar off the card then what realistic matches could they have? Brock Lesnar equals buy rates especially for Hell in a Cell

The ideal matches to actually take place inside of the cell this year & co-main event the PPV would be Ambrose vs. Rollins & Reigns vs. HHH. A Triple H/Reigns feud has been expected to take place since before Summerslam this year & Ambrose/Rollins is the most heated feud WWE has going. Ambrose/Rollins deserve to have their feud culminate in a big way on a PPV stage & Reigns needs more high profile matches with big names if he is expected to "be the guy" come Mania 31.

But considering this is sports entertainment & the ideal & the logical rarely happens, I can see three other possible main events for HiaC 2014:

3.) WWE World Heavyweight Championship: John Cena vs. Seth Rollins - Apparently the real plan B for NoC, if WWE doesn't feel like paying Lesnar to stick around for more dates, is for Cena to win the title back & for Rollins to cash-in his MitB briefcase & win his 1st World Title. Besides the previously mentioned Ambrose/Rollins & Reigns/HHH co-main event cell matches, this would be the next best match/outcome IMO but it also seems the least likely to happen. I don't think Reigns will be ready to main event for the title by WM 31 & Rollins as champion would be a huge breathe of fresh air to the title picture but I just don't see it happening.

2.) Hell In A Cell Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Brock Lesnar vs. The Big Show - Recent reports state that WWE can pay Lesnar for more dates if they so choose & that The Big Show is the next in line for a title shot. So while I absolutely abhor the thought of another Lesnar/Show program, it seems pretty likely at this point.

1.) #1 Contender's Hell In A Cell Match - This one is a little out of the box & I know WWE hasn't been big on multi-man HiaC matches since the creation of the Elimination Chamber match but I think it's actually possible this year that we get some kind of triple threat, fatal four way, scramble, etc. hell in a cell match to determine a new #1 contender for Lesnar's title. It would kind of make sense since after Cena, who really is there to challenge Lesnar? I could easily see Big Show coming out on top & then challenging Brock at Survivor Series for the title, it just seems like a WWE move.

I expect Big Show/Brock Lesnar to be the main event of HIAC.

Unlike Cena/Brock feud this time around, I expect their feud to be more physical, maybe even more personal.

Like Show bringing up how Heyman turned on him (Lesnar) and could do it again. Or we could see Show taking Heyman hostage.

Me personally, I'd prefer Ambrose/Rollins HIAC match to close the show but they got their biggest star as WWE Champion, they just have to close out the show with him.

2.) Hell In A Cell Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Brock Lesnar vs. The Big Show

I expect Big Show/Brock Lesnar to be the main event of HIAC.

If not Big Show/Brock Lesnar, it will be Roman Reigns/Triple H.

The reports that Big Show is facing Brock are bullshit. Meltzer is being taken completely out of context. He was just making a point saying that if [someone like] Big Show main evented against Brock, it would be an admission that they have failed at building up a strong face.

I really doubt they will be going with Big Show. If Big Show actually turns out being the opponent, it will be a case of Meltzer being a psychic, or WWE just going along with whatever is being mistakenly reported.

Honestly, I hope you're right.

I'm not a big fan of the speculated Show/Lesnar match up. Me personally, I hope the main event is Cesaro/Lesnar.

Cesaro is bigger than the US title. HIAC could be a good PPV to test Cesaro as a main event if they don't choose to continue Lesnar/Cena in a HIAC match at HIAC

I could see another rematch with John Cena vs Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell. They could have some unclean finish at Night of Champions. Maybe Cena loses his cool and get himself disqualified. It would make sense for this feud to culminate inside the Cell. If Lesnar does work the next pay per view then it would be easier and wouldn't need much build just to have Lesnar vs Cena one more time. They can just run a few video packages and have Lesnar make one or two appearances before He'll in a Cell like he has been doing these past few months.

I know I am not a staff but I just wanted to create the official Hell In A Cell discussion thread. What matches do you think will happen? , Will Brock Lesnar or John Cena be there? What will main event? Does Triple H vs Roman Reigns finally happen or a Shield triple threat? Discuss it all here

As The Mod's would say: **NO SPAMMING**

I say it is bad for business to let Brock win tonight at Night of champions, he is not going to appear on Raw tomorrow night and he will not be at Hell in a cell. They should let Cena win and than lose the title to Seth who cashes in on a beaten champion. Dean is coming back tonight or tomorrow night, continue the feud with Seth and there is your title match, Seth vs. Dean in a cage at Hell in a cell.

sheamus vs wyatt

ziggler vs miz

dust brothers vs usos

rusev vs henry

lesnar vs orton(face)(steel cage)

ambrose,cena vs kane,rollins

or if cm punk returns............................................:blush::p

Sami Zayn vs Steen for the WWE title, where mid match Zayn puts a mask on and becomes El Generico again

(I only wish)

Realistically it will be Orton v Lesnar or some boring stuff like that

I read a report stating that Brock isn't scheduled for any future television tapings. He wasn't on the build to Night of Champions until the go home show after taking a few weeks off after being awarded the new title belt so this may or may not mean anything. If it does and Cena vs Lesnar doesn't go to the Cell it makes the ending of their match last night look very questionable.

So assuming there wont be Cena vs Lesnar to blow their feud off in the Cell, that only leaves one logical main event and that is Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins to end their feud in the Cell. It would be their first true test with main eventing a pay per view, but the WWE fall season is always dull and their feud is the only one besides Lesnar and Cena that is worthy of a Cell match at Hell in a Cell. It makes the most sense and should be the main attraction of the show. There is clearly next to no thought put into these B shows or otherwise known lately as Sunday Night Raws, so test the waters with the guys still climbing the ladder. People have the network already so why not?
