HBK?

Sparky

Master of the Aussie kiss
with the possibility of HBK having his career ended at wrestlemania, Do you think he would do what his idol did and jump ship to TNA? What would that do for him, And for TNA?
Discuss.

I'm indifferent to this idea. HBK Is and always will be my favourite wrestler, but for him to go to TNA, would just be shitting all over everything he has worked for. I personally don't think he would do it seeing he is close to HHH and Vince but it's still a faint possibility.

but... Would TNA benefit from it? Fuck yeah, They could have the one thing even Vince would love and that's to have Sting fued with Mr Wrestlemania. It would be a win for TNA but not for HBK, would TNA be able to handle his work conditions?

Great thread. As I have stated in previous posþ's, HBK is one of my ALL TIME favorites.
With that being said, I've been wondering about the LendL of HBKizzle for some time now. I think this angle is really interesting and had to be done. IMO this is the ONLY way to have a better match then they did last year. I'm not really sure on this one tho. The streak vs. The carear, WOW that was a bombshell when I heard it!!
With all the troubles HBK has had these past months, IMO it makes no sense to have him "retite" at the end, and not have some sort of "high monment", which would be getting the victory to end the streak. But as an all around wrestling fan, I've been seeing HBK looking hurt, he almost, ALOMST, walks as bad as hogan. And taker is no better.
I don't think either of them will jump ship over to tna. These guys are WWE built, (Yes, taker was part of that tag team, I forget the name, in WCW, but wasn't a star 'till WWE) and they are LOYAL. I know it might be hard to believe, but YES, there are SOME ppl who are loyal and know where that line is. And HBK and Undertaker are 2 prime examples of those type of men.
I don't know what will happen after they come back, (as reported on this site, they both are getting time off after WrestleMania) but IMO they won't be jumping ship.

In a nutshell, no, and for one particular reason: loyalty.

Michaels exudes far too much of it IMO to tarnish his legacy by jumping ship now, when he didn't jump ship when WCW had the WWE spanked and crying for Mommy for 82-straight weeks – even while some of his best friends in Nash & Hall (among countless others) made the leap without so much as a second thought.

Michaels has been a main event caliber star in the WWE for the last decade plus, and IMO if he's set to retire, he's going to retire in the WWE – where he'll stay put so as not to jeopardize his Hall of Fame entry, as well as to prove he's still the loyal employee he was then, now.

Sorry to the OP, but this is nothing short of a pipe dream IMO.

I'm 100% sure Shawn would never move to TNA. There is the loyalty aspect which has been covered above and I think holds some weight in the argument. However, the biggest thing to look at is WHY Shawn is planning on leaving in the close future. He's giving it his best for the rest of his time now, but he wants to leave because he feels his body isn't in the same condition it was 10 years ago. Shawn leaving the WWE isn't for monetary reasons, it isn't his annoyance at management or drug use, or any of the common reasons wrestlers leave, he's quitting because he doesn't WANT to be wrestling anymore. Whether that be for WWE, TNA, or any other promotion. He's leaving wrestling, not leaving the WWE.

I disagree with just about everything in this thread. Oh, not about HBK not working for TNA, but for the reasons. Loyalty? HBK wouldn't go because of loyalty? That notion makes me laugh. This is wrestling, there is no such thing as loyalty, at least not to the wise. Vince McMahon shows no loyalty, and none of his wrestlers should show loyalty to him. That's not a bad thing, it's just a thing.

Why won't HBK go to TNA? Because what would be the purpose? Why go to TNA? HBK is generally not "required" to work the house show circuit, so he just has to show up on TV night, unless the WWE is in a pinch, or if HBK just wants to work the shows. If HBK retires, it's going to be because he doesn't want to work anymore, so why would he go to TNA? And, if he does want to work, then why not do it in the WWE where he can do it in front of a much bigger audience, and make a lot more money doing it.

There would be no point for HBK to go to TNA, and loyalty has nothing to do with it.

Already seen Angle v. HBK... whats left Mr. anderson, Pope.... Nasty boyz?..... TNA doesnt have enough money to get HBK anyways. HBK has always been loyal, this last run here was to set him up for retirement, not to go down the shitter with TNA. HBK=WWE for life
TNA=Shit for ever

NO 100% no like most of the other poster said, HBK is loyal to WWE, HBK wont go to TNA? Because one thing he wont jump ships also like Sly had said there is no purpose for HBK to go to TNA. If HBK really makes a decision to no wrestle no more he wont wrestle any more, HBK has done everything in the wrestling business, He doesnt need to jump to another company to accomplish the goals that he has, HBK acomplished every thing he is Mr. Wrestlemania, Multi time champion ,He is loved by the WWE fans tell me what else does he want?

Let me just start by saying this: Shawn Michaels would never go to TNA. As has been stated many time already, at the top of the list of reasons are loyalty to the WWE and the fact that TNA doesn't make the "Mr. WrestleMania" kind of duckets yet.

Now, I'm going to go out on a limb here and list a couple of pros and cons:

Cons:
- HBK wouldn't make half as much money in TNA as he does in WWE.
- A jump to TNA would screw him out of the Hall of Fame.
- Biggest con; HBK simply just doesn't want to wrestle anymore. Blatant and obvious.

Pros:
- HBK would have the dream road schedule where his desire to wrestle and work less and less is concerned.
- Just having HBK there in TNA would make the company MAD money, as well as the money necessary to pay a legend like HBK, especially if they put him into programs with the likes of AJ Styles and Sting. In a way, this pro works for both TNA and HBK.

Overall and back to the point at point, it wouldn't be wise for HBK to jump ship...nor would he ever.

He won't ever go. While I think there's probably less loyalty in his system than everyone is making out - he wlmost went to WCW after all, there is no reason for him to jump ship. The reasons people generally jump ship from WWE are threefold - schedule, relationship with Vince and money. The money element has long since gone ecause there isn't any anywhere else, and there are few people closer to Vince's inner circle than him. As for the schedule, he already has a light one, so he has no reason. As for going once he has been deemed too old to go on by the WWE, he won't need to. Unlike Flair, he doesn't piss his money away on failed marriages and the fact that he takes so much time off implies that unlike most, he knows when he's not up to getting in the ring.

Shawn Michaels is loyal to Vince through and through. Even when he wanted Vince to release him back in 1997 he really deep down didn't want to go anywhere. Remember, the Undertaker "retired" after that TLC match with Edge only to come back months later and beat Edge.

hbk would be crazy to go to TNA. he is set up for life with the wwe. even if he does retire after mania(i doubt it) he will always have a job in the wwe weather it be as a road agent , on air talent or just some bullshit desk job. if he stayed loyal to vince in 97 when wcw was offering him millions of dollars a year i highly doubt he will now

There is no way in hell Shawn Michaels even spends a split second thinking about jumping ship. IF this is Shawn's retirement match at Wrestlemania, it will be because he is ready to retire from wrestling, not because the WWE isn't sure they want him anymore. He isn't going to be some midcarder that the WWE let go, who still has a wrestling career in front of him, he is a guy who will either retire or not retire, based on what he, Shawn Michaels, wants to do. If Shawn retires, and then decides he wants to return, there is no way the WWE doesn't welcome him back with open arms. TNA has absolutely nothing to offer Shawn Michaels.
