yea i understand wat you mean, i like cena a lot but i do think hes gotta drop the title to somebody cuz he's had it way to long. he should drop it to like hbk or orton. need new blood i get ya i think cena will hav better matches when hes not in the main event anyways.
Okay. Now it's my turn to throw in my 2 cents. I've seen the highlights since I skipped Wrestlemania for the first time in years. I'm sorry but last year with Boogeyman vs Booker T, Rey Mysterio's title win not headlining the event and most of all, the godawful Triple H vs John Cena match, I couldn't take it anymore. It's why I gave up on the WWE.
Now on to the topic at hand, That is now 3 of the best wrestlers in Kurt Angle, The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels and The Game Triple H. What do they have in common? Simple. NOT ONE OF THEM CAN PUT CENA OVER!!!!!!
When you have your best guys have to carry somebody throughout the entire match and it gets to a point where the one doing the carrying gets in the face of the one he's carrying DURING the match as it's taking place, that's not a good sign.
Andre vs Hogan, HBK vs Bret, Taker vs Sid, Hogan vs Warrior, Hogan vs Savage, Lesnar vs Angle. What do all these have in common? Great main events. Because nobody carried anyone in it. There was equal part from both sides. That makes a great main event. Cena vs HBK is okay, for MONDAY NIGHT RAW!!!. They don't get it. This is wrestlemania we're talking about. And what it's been known for is all the belts being on the line, high quality matches that you can only see on this PPV. This PPV standing tall above all of the other ones in the year. That was what Wrestlemania once stood for.
The WWE needs to take one seriously hard look at itself. This PPV from what I saw in highlights and on tape at a friend's, this ppv didn't look any different than the stale and tired tripe that has been produced. And to make things worse, they had a world title match in the middle of the PPV and all the hype around it was circulated around one stupid match with two barely decent wrestlers representing two old crones that nobody gives a rat's ass about. And for the ECW originals match, if RVD wasn't set on leaving when his contract ends, WWE wouldn't have let him win the match. THey just want to sign him so TNA doesn't get him. Same as with a lot of their talent.
I will admit I watch TNA and I even watched WSX. Both are far from perfect but at least they don't disappoint and they give you something new with wrestling. I'm not trying to turn this into a TNA vs WWE thread but I will say this: When was the last time the WWE had a good PPV? I mean a really good PPV that was talked about for months. Off the top of my head, Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle at Mania. All the hype was around that match and it should have been that way. Because if you have a PPV that cares more of some stupid gimmick match which holds no value whatsoever above what the main event is going to be, then your PPV is in trouble cause it has no chance in hell of succeeding.
HBK is fed up and who can blame him? He's too old to have to carry anyone in a match, much less John Cena who clearly is not ready to be the top gun in the WWE. And even though he is that, he wrestles in the ring not only like he's not the top gun but that he doesn't deserve to be. HBK didn't shake his hand and rightfully so. Vince McMahon again has lost sight of what he wants out of his product. He has no conception of how it should be and most of all he's got no heart for what the business should be right now. If he had any of those things, he'd have somebody else as the poster child for the WWE with good mic skills at the very least and especially more than enough skill that he needs in the ring to make the match look good as well as both himself and his opponent in the ring so that they can give the fans exactly what they paid to see.
