Have you ever had a celebrity crush?

ummmm....unless you are in the middle of a Kathy Ireland crush, probably not. It's really a terrible movie. It's also PG, and they don't really play up the fact that she was a swimsuit goddess. Plot is absolutely dreadful...she is a "nerd" whose dad is an archeologist or something, and she somehow ends up finding an underground civilization or something.

Think I'll just watch Necessary Roughness & The Replacements (again) this weekend then... might throw Wildcats in for the craic of it too:)

I think only The Replacements can rival it for being the most underappreciated gridiron movies.

I can't take a movie seriously when, on the last play of the game, the quarterback nods at his intended receiver at the line of scrimmage before the ball is snapped.

Mostly, though, there was no strong female lead. I don't even know the name of the cheerleader who played Annabelle.....and I've never seen her in any other film.

The Replacements also had way too many shots of the cheerleaders during game action, although it was unique watching two of them simulate anal sex between plays.

Best thing in the whole film was Danny Bateman. If I'm trapped in a dark alley, I want him at my back.

If I had to say I had a celebrity crush, it would have to be on Taylor Swift. I've never been a fan of her music but when I saw her album cover my brain pulled a 180 and made me care about her message and her songs. She has perhaps the best smile for any country musician, granted that is like being the tallest midget but bare with me.

Could have been a bluff. QBs regularly give the 'eye' to throw cornerbacks, linebackers and safeties off, along with pump fakes or faking a sneak. I don't believe a proballer would really pay much attention to a nod. He'd just attempt to mark his opposite number.

Agreed, but love interests are quite often the weakest link in comedies and action movies and just there for eye candy (a role I thought she filled nicely), and a unashamed concession to the ladies in what would be regarded as a film aimed at blokes. Plus, she was the link to knowing about the strippers being members of the cheerleaders (all the cheerleader shots are obvious pandering to the guys).

Jon Favreau was excellent but I loved Rhys Ifans Welsh kicker :lmao:.

It's a popcorn movie, but hey, I like popcorn movies - they're feelgood;) Tell me you didn't smile at grown men doing the electric slide to 'I Will Survive'!

You come into a thread looking for inspiration as to who you should have a google-perv at and instead start reminiscing about the immense film that combined Gene "Listen-to-my-voice-and-fear-my-moustache" Hackman with Keanu "Red-sometimes-means-stop" Reeves. I love The Replacements! As Sally has pointed out, it has a few flaws, but all-in-all is a satisfying enough sports film with some good casting. The bar fight then dance in prison to I Will Survive caught me completely off-guard the first time I watched it, but it's a nice wee moment in a sports film.

Onto the matter at hand.

I should have listed her before and I feel awful she slipped my mind, but Kate Beckinsale is just beautiful. She isn't the greatest actress by any means, however she outdoes Carrie Moss in a skintight leather/PVC outfit contest which must count for something.
And her nose is cute also.
