Harry Potter Box Office - Update!!

I only watched the first one and like the 5th or 6th one. I never got into it and it is doing very well. That leads me to believe my friends will talk shit on me too because I dislike it.

In my defense I never shit on him. I just said this subject of Harry Potter for him is really being overdone. To be honest I was the first to say HP would out gross TDKR and SSC agreed then FSWWE jumped in and turned it into a 128,283,482,182,001 page debate over gross figures and whos better. Hence me pointing out a new HP thread is a little over the top now.

Yeah, I can't say I didn't see this one coming. It was very obvious this movie was going to be big ether way. I do hope it beats Alice In Wonderland..that just wasn't a very good movie.

I have a feeling that HP will do more 100/200 millions and surpass Lord of Rings - Return of The King!!

Last time I checked you created this thread with 0 replies.

So why did you do it? Stop hating me, just because I like Harry Potter Books more than comics...

Yeah and this one has 522 replies, so what's your point

BTW I don't hate you because you like Harry fucking Potter more than comics, I don't even really hate you, I more just dislike you & find you annoying.

My point is that people care a lot more about my thread than yours.

BTW I don't hate you because you like Harry fucking Potter more than comics, I don't even really hate you, I more just dislike you & find you annoying.

I'm annoying because I like Harry Potter right? Or I am annoying because people care a lot more about Harry Potter Random Thread than yours?

If you don't hate and if you don't care about this thread, you shouldn't have replied it you stupid troll! Go jerk of in your comics...

Justinsayne you remind me of these guy

Um, my thread has 522 posts, & yours has 38... did you fail math or something?

I'm annoying because I like Harry Potter right? Or I am annoying because people care a lot more about Harry Potter Random Thread than yours?

It's annoying cause you keep beating a dead horse, pretty sure the majority of the posts in this thread stated that already though, people care about this thread, most of the people in this thread are telling you they don't care, how is that not clear?!

If you don't hate and if you don't care about this thread, you shouldn't have replied it you stupid troll!

I made one post stating that this thread would've been a good idea had people had given a shit, you're the one that got all super defensive.

Go jerk of in your comics...

Nah that's ok, kinda hard to read them if the pages are stuck together

Justinsayne you remind me of these guy

I'm not that fat, I wish I owned a comic shop, would be a dream come true to be honest

FSWWE, You've still yet to sell me on this idea that HP is not for kids. I mean, you sit there and shit talk Justin about being a fan of comics, in support of your kids books? Do you not see how that makes you come across as kind of an idiot?
Of course Harry Potter is the greatest thing to you. You were, and still very much are, a child growing up with it. Yeah, it's had a great run, and the movie is selling good. That's great. But do you honestly think nothing will beat it? I bet by this time 3 years from now, at least 4 movies will have out sold it. And this is it for the Harry Potter series too. It's done. Bye bye. No more books, or movies, or anything of the sort. Meanwhile, those of us who grew up before the Potter craze, had other things. For some, it was comic books. Obviously you've never seen movies such as "The Story of DC Comics". I suggest you do before running your mouth about how "Only nerds like comics". Do you know the impact they had during WW2? Did you know there are actual classes in universities devoted to comic books? Or that without the inspiration they give people, a lot of writers/directors would never have gotten into their line of work?
And how can you base ANYTHING off of how many replies there are in a thread? Have you looked at most of the replies here? How many of them were actually FOR you, and how many were people telling you they don't really care?
Yeah, we get it. You're some foreign kid who doesn't care, and loves to be hated. Good job, you found yourself a gimmick.

I hate this idea that Harry Potter is for kids, because if you have read the books you would know what they talk about.
The books has a lot of controversial shit going around, since bad parenting in the first book, when we see his uncles using him almost as a slave and spoil their own child, it isn't properly "every kid would find it attractive".
It mixes racism with that thing of pure blood and mudblood, which kids don't understand the value, and always find it like a cool word.
The deaths, not the Dumbledore death, but the kids death like Cedric Diggory, a lot mentioned in the books, Fred Weasley, Colin Creevey, etc gives the wrong idea for kids, you know it gives them the idea that they could be murdered easily (stuff that 6/12 year old childs shouldn't think about)
What about Voldemort being inspired in Hitler? You know all the hate for Muggle borns and half bloods and even Muggles (thinking they all should die ala Hitler) when he is actually a Half Blood (like some people assume that Hitlers parents were Jews, ala hypocrite).

I can't really find the reason why you say that HP is for kids, maybe because the subject is wizardry, but if you give that excuse I can tell you that Super-Heroes don't exist too, only in kids minds.
You have all the kind of harry Potter fans, and it isn't going to die like you are saying, look at Star Wars they only have the movies and as far as I see 40 years later they are still pretty over, and Star Wars was for kids too.
And you are delusional, there is no way that in 5 years you have others movie out-grossing Lord of The Rings and now Harry Potter.

Who do you have in mind? The Avengers? It will be in $1 billion mark, but I can't see it beating HP record.
Justin is spewing shit on me for a long time now, and I don't have anything against him, I hope he is happy reading what he likes, I don't have anything against comics, I own a fucking Spider-Man collection here!
I'm not a nerd and I like comics, in fact I never said that solely nerds like comics! Also I don't have anything against nerds, I find the most of them at least smart.

oh IDK because of this maybe...

Despite Rowling's statement that she did not have any particular age group in mind when beginning to write the Harry Potter books, the publishers initially targeted children aged nine to eleven.

look at Star Wars they only have the movies and as far as I see 40 years later they are still pretty over,

1-it's been 34 yrs. since the first Stars Wars movie

2-You're ignoring the various Cartoons, comic books series, & the seemingly never ending series of novels, as well as the vast video game library (many of which feature original storylines designed specifically for the games)

And you are delusional, there is no way that in 5 years you have others movie out-grossing Lord of The Rings and now Harry Potter.

Yeah right, someone says that every time some movie comes out and breaks all sorts of records & then out comes a new movie that exceeds expectations and takes the record.

Who do you have in mind? The Avengers? It will be in $1 billion mark, but I can't see it beating HP record.

It probably won't

Justin is spewing shit on me for a long time now, and I don't have anything against him,

And you keep spewing it right back...

I'm not a nerd and I like comics,

Oh I wouldn't say that, you are most defiantly a "Potter nerd" is nothing else, there's no denying that

oh IDK because of this maybe...

Then explain me how the hell 20's/30's/40's/50 year old persons read Harry Potter? Riddle me that...
If you went to a movie to see the film, you would probably have seen 10% kids and the other 90% teens/adults and even elders.
I would like to see a 9 year old kid face if you gave him a Harry Potter book to read with 500 pages, he would think that you are crazy.

1-it's been 34 yrs. since the first Stars Wars movie

2-You're ignoring the various Cartoons, comic books series, & the seemingly never ending series of novels, as well as the vast video game library (many of which feature original storylines designed specifically for the games)

1- I didn't look in any website I was just saying a rounded number, pretty good trying to be smart -.-

2- They all come after THE MOVIES, who can tell you that Harry Potter can't have a cartoon? Who can tell you that HP can't have a new game outside of the books? Heck LOTR has games that has nothing to do with the novels and movies.

Yeah right, someone says that every time some movie comes out and breaks all sorts of records & then out comes a new movie that exceeds expectations and takes the record.

You know that only James Cameron or a really good Worldwide known "name" can outgross the first three movies right?
Don't tell me that you think that Batman will make more money than Avatar.

It probably won't

It is one of the most anticipated movies especially for avid comic fans like you, so I don't get it, a thing that exist for over 70 years, a lot of Worldwide known characters can't surpass an easily forgettable and crappy collection of books?

And you keep spewing it right back...
You started, you prick!! I have to quite just because you spoke? Keep dreamin'

Oh I wouldn't say that, you are most defiantly a "Potter nerd" is nothing else, there's no denying that

I only expect one day to be 34 years old and have my mind in bigger and more important things than comics or Harry Potter books.
For now I'm 17 I can be a Potter nerd the hell I want.

I hate this idea that Harry Potter is for kids, because if you have read the books you would know what they talk about.

No Spoiler tags, FSWWE? WTF!

I can't really find the reason why you say that HP is for kids, maybe because the subject is wizardry, but if you give that excuse I can tell you that Super-Heroes don't exist too, only in kids minds.

I don't remember anyone saying that Potter was just for kids, but there is no denying that alot of comics are too mature in content for kids, so you can't say that comics are just for kids.

I've never denied that Deathly Hallows would be huge, but I still think that The Dark Knight Rises will bring it more money. I may be wrong in the end, but I won't lose any sleep over it if I am. I really don't care that much. I've never had a problem admitting to when I'm wrong, and I won't have any issue doing it here if that is the case.

How much time are we given TDKR to outdraw Deathly Hallows 2? Opening weekend? Opening week? Nineteen days? This needs to be established.

Just because I think that TDKR will be the bigger success, doesn't make me a comic nerd, nor does it mean I'm at home constantly fapping to any of the previous Nolan directed Batman films.

Then explain me how the hell 20's/30's/40's/50 year old persons read Harry Potter? Riddle me that...

IDK, good parenting maybe? maybe parents want to see exactly what they're kids are reading?

If you went to a movie to see the film, you would probably have seen 10% kids and the other 90% teens/adults and even elders.

I was at the theater that day, I saw a lot of adults taking their kids to see Harry Potter, and no elders.

I would like to see a 9 year old kid face if you gave him a Harry Potter book to read with 500 pages, he would think that you are crazy.

My cousins 6 yr. old daughter reads these books, in her kindergarten class

1- I didn't look in any website I was just saying a rounded number, pretty good trying to be smart -.-

Not as smart as taking 10 secs. to google it

2- They all come after THE MOVIES, who can tell you that Harry Potter can't have a cartoon? Who can tell you that HP can't have a new game outside of the books? Heck LOTR has games that has nothing to do with the novels and movies.

1-You said that the Star Wars franchise only had the movies keeping them alive for the past 40 yrs., you were wrong & I corrected you.

2-Yeah I've been the one saying that the "Potterverse" or whatever you people call it, will be expanded into a cartoon, comics, or someother way, never said otherwise.

You know that only James Cameron or a really good Worldwide known "name" can outgross the first three movies right?
Don't tell me that you think that Batman will make more money than Avatar.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did, though I really won't care either way, I go to movies to be entertained, I don't give a shit how much money they make.

WTF?!? are you seriously arguing with because I agreed with something you said?! what the hell is wrong with you?!?, did you even read my full post?:headscratch:

It is one of the most anticipated movies especially for avid comic fans like you, so I don't get it, a thing that exist for over 70 years, a lot of Worldwide known characters can't surpass an easily forgettable and crappy collection of books?

Ok I honestly have no fucking clue as to what you are talking about now, are you still talking about the Avengers? cause they've only been around since 48 yrs., no idea where you got 70 yrs.

And no, i don't think Avenger will beat Potter, did I not make that clear?

You started, you prick!! I have to quite just because you spoke? Keep dreamin'

Oh, so we're hurling flames outside of the bar room now? & I hope you don't stop I'm having way to much fun going back & forth with you.

I only expect one day to be 34 years old and have my mind in bigger and more important things than comics or Harry Potter books.
For now I'm 17 I can be a Potter nerd the hell I want.

A.) I'm 30 not 34, it's right by my name, easy to see, so how you fucked that bit of info up I'll never know.

B.) I thought Harry Potter books were aimed at adults? I you saying that when you're an adult you will no longer care about Harry Potter books?

C.)I never said you couldn't be a Potter fan, pretty sure one else did either.

I hate this idea that Harry Potter is for kids, because if you have read the books you would know what they talk about.

Probably because it's called "The best selling Childrens books of all time".

According to Rowling, the main theme is death, although it is primarily considered to be a work of children's literature. There are also many other themes in the series, such as love and prejudice

You have all the kind of harry Potter fans, and it isn't going to die like you are saying, look at Star Wars they only have the movies and as far as I see 40 years later they are still pretty over, and Star Wars was for kids too
star Wars was NOT aimed at kids. And I would like you to show proof of this claim.

And you are delusional, there is no way that in 5 years you have others movie out-grossing Lord of The Rings and now Harry Potter.
I said 3 years. And yes we will. I also will not even go into how ticket prices have gone up to a ridiculous amount either.. $19 to see a movie.. But yes, within 3 years we will have a few movies that do outsell them.

Who do you have in mind? The Avengers? It will be in $1 billion mark, but I can't see it beating HP record.
Honestly? I have no idea how that one will do. they have been builing it up for a long time now, and considering how well Iron Man, Thor, and now Cap. America did? Who knows. I was leaning more towards Avatar 2.

You went off in the Bar Room about how comics were for nerds and children. When they have some that you have to be of a certain age to buy. I'm both a Comic fan, and a parent, and there is no way in hell I'd want my kid reading something like "Old Man Logan" at a young age. I really have nothing against HP either. I read the books, to see what all the hype was about. They were good, but I'm not going to say they were the best ever. I'm much more fond of the series written by David Eddings called "The The Belgariad". Great series. It also deals with Magic and what not, but in a much different way. The HP movies sell, no doubt about it. I did see the line at the theater down the street though, and of the 800 people in line, a good 80% were indeed children between the ages of 8-16.

IDK, good parenting maybe? maybe parents want to see exactly what they're kids are reading?

What? Do you sincerely believe that parents do that just because they are forced?
When I was at the movies, I had a family behind me and the mother was telling her son what is the movie talking about, and she didn't shut up, she was spoiling the book for the entire room, but that didn't seem to bother poeple, they knew already, yes 80% of the fans know what is going to happen.

I was at the theater that day, I saw a lot of adults taking their kids to see Harry Potter, and no elders.

6-12 kids are like 90% of the crowd, right?

My cousins 6 yr. old daughter reads these books, in her kindergarten class
Yes, this is really true, If I show HP 5 to a kid with 750 pages, the kid will have an attack.
Probably they showed him the movies and still I can't see a lot of kids care about it, it isn't a easy story to understand.
I have 17 year old and older fans than me that read the book can't find normal

Not as smart as taking 10 secs. to google it
Good for you.

1-You said that the Star Wars franchise only had the movies keeping them alive for the past 40 yrs., you were wrong & I corrected you.

Don't you want me to tell the days since they debuted too? It would complete your research.

2-Yeah I've been the one saying that the "Potterverse" or whatever you people call it, will be expanded into a cartoon, comics, or someother way, never said otherwise.
So shut up.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did, though I really won't care either way, I go to movies to be entertained, I don't give a shit how much money they make.

Ahaha this is the most ridiculous thing I've EVER heard!! I would be surprised, you can bet I would be really SURPRISED if Harry Potter broke the AVATAR mark.

Ok I honestly have no fucking clue as to what you are talking about now, are you still talking about the Avengers? cause they've only been around since 48 yrs., no idea where you got 70 yrs.

I was talking about comics in general, but I'm not going to waste my time googling something that I don't care.

Oh, so we're hurling flames outside of the bar room now? & I hope you don't stop I'm having way to much fun going back & forth with you.

A.) Still don't you fell bad about it? 30 years is like 1/3 of your life, time to grow up and I dare you tell me that a normal 30 year old man reads comics.

B) I never said that they are aimed for adults, I said teens and think a teen with 16 year old when the book was released now has almost 27 years old.

C) You re accusing me of being a Potter Nerd or whatever right?

Probably because it's called "The best selling Childrens books of all time".

It doesn't matter how the publishers call it, you can't tell me that kids understand what Harry Potter really has to offer, every time I re-read it, I find new things about it.

According to Rowling, the main theme is death, although it is primarily considered to be a work of children's literature. There are also many other themes in the series, such as love and prejudice

The books have been banned in a lot of schools in different countries, even the Church says that Harry Potter is a bad influence for KIDS.

star Wars was NOT aimed at kids. And I would like you to show proof of this claim.
If Harry Potter is aimed for kids, Star Wars is aimed for kids.
Can't you see the similarities In the series? Lightsaber = Wand.
Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia and a whole bunch of freaky monsters that look like they came from "Sesame Street" = Harry Potter Trio and the whole bunch of freaky monsters around the world.

I said 3 years. And yes we will. I also will not even go into how ticket prices have gone up to a ridiculous amount either.. $19 to see a movie.. But yes, within 3 years we will have a few movies that do outsell them.
Titanic was at top more than 10 years and he had pretty strong competition, and it was just out-grossed from the movie of the same creator.

Honestly? I have no idea how that one will do. they have been builing it up for a long time now, and considering how well Iron Man, Thor, and now Cap. America did? Who knows. I was leaning more towards Avatar 2.
I'm okay with that Avatar 2 is only expecting to be released in 2014.
The Avengers I don't know either, but like I said it is aimed for comic fans, not regular fans.

I will do it later.
