Halo Story?

Hey.

Currently I'm watching a Peter Jackson interview and they are discussing the halo movie that he was suppose to help produce.

I don't have an xbox and I've only played Halo 2 on multiplayer so I have no idea what the story is.

Can someone give me a quick rundown of what the halo games are about. Maybe like a quick rundown of halo 1, 2 &3.

I'm lazy so here is the short basic summery of the story off Wiki

The main trilogy of games center on the experiences of the Master Chief, a cybernetically-enhanced human super-soldier, and his artificial intelligence (AI) companion, Cortana. The Master Chief aids future humanity in battling the Covenant, a theocratic alliance of alien races. In this science fiction setting, the term "Halo" refers to Halo megastructures: large, habitable ringed structures, similar to Larry Niven's ringworlds.

Halo 2 just continues this story adn if I remember right there is more focus on the covenant at parts in the story as well, I've never played Halo 3 so I don't know where the story goes from there

The story in Halo 3, especially near the end, becomes a befuddled mess that jumps erratically from subject to subject. That was my experience at least. Granted I did rush through it, but I did make an honest attempt to follow the storyline.

In the end it looks like the storyline will lead the series into the Marathon series, which I am actually really excited for.

EDIT: And I heard that he announced a couple days ago that he has discontinued works in creating the movie. So for now it looks like Halo: The Movie will be no more. And I'm actually okay will that. I don't want the series to sell out anymore.
