Yeah, I wish I knew what the US ratings meant in case of viewing figures. For example, how many people is a 3.2 rating?

Isn't he drawing well as champion?
Nope.

I assume 3.2 million, but I think I'm wrong.

You are.

Click on "Cable Rating" at the bottom right, and you can see how many viewers they get. The "rating" number itself is off usually, due to certain factors I won't go into, but the viewers are usually accurate.

Yes he has.
Two weeks ago, Raw did a 3.1 rating. Last week, Raw did a 3.3 rating, but the number DROPPED in the second half of the show with the build to the main-event that Punk was in.

The June 16th (the week before the draft) edition of Raw did a 3.3 rating.

He hasn't done any better, and it seems like everytime he's in the main-event, his particular segment suffers in ratings.

And he has had to compete against the Olympics too.
This might be a valid statement, but it doesn't change the fact that he hasn't improved ratings.

I mean, I could just as easily say that the first couple weeks of Raws higher ratings were due to the draft shakeup, and not Punk.

Jericho has proven that he doesn't draw. So that might have explained why his match lost viewers last week.

Then explain to me how the JBL vs CM Punk match for the world title the night Punk won it, gained viewers? Considering that JBL doesn't usually draw big, I think that was quite good.

Not to mention the last either one or two shows have to be excluded due to the olympics.

Klunder, no offense bud.. but I love how when the ratings are UP.. it's all because of one guy.. yet when they're down, it's all because of another show.

C.M. Punk = the biggest fluke Champion they have. Seriously, the best part of his ONLY Pay per view Championship victory, came off a fluke event in which HE got his head busted open the hard way. That wasn't planned.

I bet hard money he'll even flukishly retain at Unforgiven, by sneaking into the final pinfall victory, as the clock ticks to the finish. My bet is he pins J.B.L. to win in the end, as well, which still means he isn't as good as the other 3. (Batista, Cena or Kane)

As far as the ratings go.. Punk winning the title can't be contributed to being the only reason they went up. Him cashing in MAY be part of the reason people tuned in a week later, however the draft, the new faces in different places, and the new storylines regarding the G.M. as well as HBK/Jericho, Batista/Cena, and Kane/Mysterio all have people tuning in.. so Punk isn't the bread winner in that group. He's just the guy holding the top title, so he's the "face" image people wanna put with why they're gaining more ratings.

When was the last time Punk Main Evented anything? Isn't the ideal goal as Champion, to Main Event a p.p.v., or a televised show?? Sure, he was in the ME on Raw.. but did he win? NO.

You don't honestly think I'm intrested in that do you?

You JUST said it, it was the night where Punk unexpectedly cashed in his MITB, and WWE immediately thrust him into a title match, where he could have lost it (with some people hoping he would). It was a night of surprise, so obviously people would tune in to see if WWE would throw in another surprise by making him lose the title after less than a night or would continue with him as champion.

It would have been the same if anyone else had cashed in their MITB, if it was someone like Jeff Hardy, that match would have probably gained even more viewers.
