Guys You Think Can Be World Champion In 2011

Easy answers:

Alberto Del Rio: ADR has been so incredibly over as a heel that its ridiculous. Add to that his wrestling skills and the fact it'd kill his push if he jobbed down to Intercontinental, if he doesn't get a run in 2011, I'll fucking rage.

Dolph Ziggler: Looks, in-ring skills, and Vicky Guerrero. If he manages to cultivate his own personality and promo skills to stand as his own man, hated without VG, then he'll be on his way to World Heavyweight in a matter of no time.

... Now the third, I'm a little bit hesitant on... Wade Barrett is a good choice, but without the Nexus, he seems a little bit adrift. He's no longer a leader, but a lone actor. So my third choice is ....

John Morrison: The only face out of my three picks, he's had feuds with Miz, Nexus, Sheamus over this past year, and he's preformed well enough in all of them. He just needs to find his place in terms of character and get his promo skills up to scratch to be a serious contender.

I believe that Jomo, Ziggy, and Del Rio will do it. I think Christian was an obvious choice but I'm not sure Vince can/will trust him to carry a major championship in 2011.

i say Drew McIntyre as my first pick, he is The Chosen One i really dont see why the creative team members stopped his push but i do hope it picks back up in 2011.

my second is Ezekial Jackson. the guys at smackdownds creative have some pretty good plans for him, or else they would be putting up thos vigilantes so a good IC title run is in the works.

my final is one of my personal favorites,just because he looks liek Rob Zombie...
Mr. T-Reks, Tyler Reks all we saw of him last year is on the winning team at bragging rights, and a few superstar matches, he has a great look, great in-ring ability but his mic-work leaves alot to be desired, but i beleive if put in the right situation a tag title,or US title run is very plausible

I hate to say it but I don't ever see Christian getting a push with the WHC. As much as it pains me to say that Vince is a jackass and I don't see him lightening up on his opinion of Christian.

I personally would LOVE it if:

1. Wade Barrett- The guy is very skilled on the mic and while his in ring work may need some work I think 2011 could be his year.

2. JoMo- Come on they gave the Miz a title run already! Why not JoMo!?

3. Awesome Kong!!!! Yup you heard me correctly since according to make sources she is a WWE superstar or in the process I think she could be a monster force in the MEN's division. Forget the women's division! What woman is going to beat her!? Beth? Yeah I'd LOVE to see Beth lift her up. None of the current "Divas" can beat Kong. So throw her in the mix with the men and let her open up many cans of whoop ass. It'd be very entertaining to watch the likes of Dolph getting thrown around by Kong. I can already see the stupified look on his face when Kong lays him out. Be something like :0

Honorable Mentions: Drew, Alberto Del Rio (I'd give this guy some more decent feuds, and have him be put over by some former champions like Christian and others before thrusting him into the spotlight. WWE has a bad habit of throwing guys into the title picture right away only to make them lose it then they fall back and out of contention...Sheamus ring any bells?)

Christian - Easy pick to win the Rumble (and likely the GM...) and going on to face Edge in a real "tweener" feud... both will be face/heel with Christian gettting the honor on the last match...

Barrett - The guy to unseat Christian at Summerslam... he is totally ready and I think a win over Taker will cement this...

DH Smith - I can see a Bulldog gimmick in his future and possibly Regal or Finlay as a manager... Though WWE seems more keen to push Kidd at the moment, I think the Repackaging is on the way and DH will hold the big belt during a London RAW...

I always like the lets make a guess game on here because you hear so many different opinions, and I for one like readings others opinions. Now its time for my guesses......... PRIMO........ no no no just kidding no offense but I saw someone say on here he would be a great world champion and so on if the WWE would give him a chance and the Mic lol...

1. Ziggler, come on people he had one hell of a IC title reign only to lose it to Kofi and then become the new #1 continder in the same night. Not only will he win the title this year but it will be SOON mark my words on that one. No later then the EC and Ziggy will have the title, plus they need Edge to play the catch up game heading into wrestlemania its more compellin TV if he is catching up to the title rather than already holding it.

2. Wade Barret, With a much needed move to Smackdown and a showdown with the Big Show comming up and I can see Barret picking up the win. Then the possible show down with the Deadman at WM OMG the sky is his limit. Now I'm not gonna say Wade will beat taker at Mania but a good showing is all he'll need to look credible. A decent match against taker at Mania and his name and stock will sky rocket. Plus Smackdown is the show where the younger guys can shine before being the big dogs on Raw.

3. ADR, common since will tell you he will end up winning the a world title he is being pushed to the sky and then maybe even higher, but I highly doubt it will be on Smackdown, ADR is to talented and to over with the crowd to be left on Smackdown plus he is gold on the Mic, after Mania he will be drafted to Raw and before the end of the year he will hold the title. I could easily see him going over Orton or even Cena.... Or get this the king him self... Nah not HHH but the king Shameus.

So those are three choices of mine, I would like to some day see JoMo win him some gold but I would like for them to draw it out, make him come so close only to fail, that way when it does happen the place will explode.

I'd also like to see Christion but I doubt that will ever happen he's never been on the best standings with ol' Vinnie (not that I know either of them personally just from what I've read lol)

Realistically here are the 3 I see becoming first time world champs in 2011:

1.) Alberto Del Rio-Let's see, they gave him a title shot in the first 3 months or so after he debuted in the TLC PPV in the fatal 4 way to see how he can handle being in that role, so the WWE has big things for him obviously.

2.) John Morrison-We saw him end 2010 with getting a push and a title shot to begin 2011, so its bound to happen sooner or later

3.) DBD-He has been on a roll since he came back to the WWE, so I can see him getting it.

Honorable mentions: Drew McIntyre, Christian (unless one counts the ECW title a world title), Dolph Ziggler, and last but not least, Golddust

Last year only 2 guys became WWE/World Champion for the first time: Jack Swagger and The Miz. So the chances of more than one or two guys winning either major title for the first time are slim to none.

My two choices for this year would be Wade Barrett and Alberto Del Rio. On RAW I think it will be mostly the familiar faces in the WWE Title picture, such as Cena, Orton, Miz, Sheamus. But on Smackdown there is room for new blood to step up.

Some might say Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes. But I think that's a stretch. I see Cody winning the IC title but thats all for now. As for Dolph, I see him and Vickie being moved to RAW. He's had several matches on RAW periodically over the past few months with Daniel Byran and John Cena. So I think Dolph's much more likely to be moved to the main event picture on RAW than he is to win the World Title on Smackdown.

I think your wrong about Christian but your right about Alberto Del Rio. Alberto has all the qualities that a successful WWE superstar should have. I didn't have fate in him at the start but now hes looking quite good.
As for christian, he just doesn't have it in him to be a WWE champ. Hes a middle card wrestler.

I was just wondering what the people on the forum thought of who could be a first time winner of the world or wwe championship this year.

Last year we had the Miz win his first major Gold
and the year Before Sheamus

This year Technically We have Already had ziggler's first title reign but i wondered who else you guys thought might win one of the 2 championships this year.

My Thoughts;

I could see more than one first time champion this year

Alberto Del Rio : one of my first choices which i think could be alot of people's first choices.

Christian: With the whole del rio Storyline i see christian's first run sooner than we think.

And John Morrison: Its no secret that this guy has great in ring ability , shame about mic skills but JOMO Has time.

However 2 guys i would love to see gain some major gold or at least challenging again is 2 guys from first season of NXT

Daniel Bryan: A great wrestler and although people may disagree i think this guy is a furture World Or WWE champion.

Wade Barrett: One of the main reason's i really enjoyed watching raw last year , Great mic Skills and has been so close before.

Dolph Ziggler deserves to hold the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship for more then twenty fucking minutes! I hope he gets some sort of a run as a Champion.

For fourteen years Christian has worked hard for the chance to be a World Champion. Now, he has held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, which has a great legacy but it doesn't compare to the WWE Championship in this day and age. He returned to WWE, and Vince McMahon obviously wanted to hold him down due to how he began the jumps from WWE to TNA.

Now though. Hes getting his chance and its great. Great to watch, and great to see. He's so underrated, great guy in the ring and I swear to God he better get a World Championship run this year!

Del rio is my top pick. He not only have great in ring work, mic skill, interesting gimmick but he actually have charisma. Defiintiely world champion by the end of 2011.

John Morrison is really holding back because of his mic skill. Seriously, john morrison had all the time he had since the splitting with the miz. Yet, morrison didnt show much improvement while the miz headed on becoming heavyweight champion of the world. Him having good matches is not going to be enough for him to be world champion, otherwise shouldnt he become one by now. Even swagger and kofi lost their mainevent despite being a good ring worker because they have no mic skill and charisma. This just shows to you mic skill and charisma are the key to success in wwe.

So if he does not find his character, personality, charisma or whatever, he might not be able to break that glass ceiling

I totally agree with you about Morrison. I like the guy. I think he's got amazing in ring ability and he's only getting better. The real problem is that is actual character is not that entertaining because he's not good on the mic. He's similar to Kofi Kingston, to me, because both are good in the ring but that's about it and their gimmicks are either non-existent or generic.


With that said, I think Morrison can be a world champ this year, if they have him focus less on awe-ing us in the ring (which we know he can do) and more on building his character and feuds through promos. They dropped the ball on a Miz-Morrison long feud (which I think could have been great) because Morrison can't do anything with the mic.


I think Christian is also championship material but because Vince supposedly doesn't like him, I don't think we'll ever see him as a world champ in the WWE.


ADR- I don't think he'll win the belt at Wrestlemania but he will definitely be a world champ this year. Same goes for Wade Barrett.

It's safe to assume that the fans on the board would like to see at least on of these guys win it big because they deserve it. Morrison can main event in a heartbeat, the WWE itself needs to take him more seriously Christian should have been champ in 2009
and Barrett is a new guy but would make The Corre a more dominant group.



Guys who should not win the title in 2011:

John Cena
Randy Orton
Triple H
Undertaker
Kane
Big Show
Edge

We've seen them with the title 1,001 times and another reign would just be a notch in their collective belts. none of the above talent need the belt or should even have them. Cena has been tolerable because of his Nexus feud, Orton is now a John Cena clone. Edge is boring and Triple H shouldn't have the honor of beating Flair's title reigns. The others are just crap

Repeat champs who deserve another reign:

Miz (come one, you KNOW he's going to lose at WrestleMania)
Sheamus

Both of these guys are solid enough to be champs and fresh enough to defend against a new guy to have the feud new.

I can see Del Rio being champ obviously but I think it would be a bad idea to give him the strap at wrestlemania. He is progressing a lot better than the other guys but he has already been in the system wrestlibg around the world for years, so he knows the ropes and he has all the tools to be a big star in the wwe. WWE needs to hold off a title win until atleast the end of the year. He needs some more big wins under his belt other than mysterio. Obviously get will experience from facing edge on the biggest stage. Just keep adding to his resume. He could skip the IC title but i think they should make him hold it for atleast a little before he wins the whc. This process will solidy him as legitimate star instead coming off like paper champs like miz and swagger. Im not crazy about him getting to main event mania this quick, on paper it looks silly a 11x champ vs a guy who beat rey and won the rumble, kind of weak. Regardless he defiently will be the future if he just keeps getting better and is given more time to work on his craft.

I could see crowning Barrett this year but I think that would be a bad decision, atleast based on the performances and reactions he gotten thus far. Some of you guys might love him, but he is not as over the top heels in wwe like punk and del rio. Barrett still in a lot of ways looks like he needs to better build his character. His name is too much involved in nexus and corre and he is coming off like a very generic star in his promos, not distingiushing himself from wwe's other top heels. He needs to be able to prove he can be succesful outside his group and we have yet so see that. He can defiently improve in the ring, he isnt bad but he isnt great either. He got some experience fighting cena and orton but he still needs other big wins and solid performances to break out from his group and look like a legit threat in the whc scene. He probably could be the future but I dont see it yet, atleast not this year. But WWE has gives the title to anyone nowdays right ?

Christian defiently desrves and I do believe WWE probably will finally give him one this year.

If Morrison can develp decent mic skills and get into a fued that really puts him over, he is pretty much ready to be on the next level. If WWE gets desparate enough they will do it but it proabably wont happen this year, with Miz, Cena, Orton on the top. A lot of people compare morrion to hbk but he is more like bret in terms of character. He dosent have to be great on the mic, his performances will sell themselves, Mysterio is in the same position.

Ziggler and McIntyre are far from WHC material, I dont care if they are good wrestlers, they are not that good. Regardless of that these guys are as bland as heels as they come and get vitually no reaction when they come out. Plus niether are any good on the mic. Maybe a face dosent have to be as good on the mic but heels, especially in case of their characters ( which are both lame as hell ) who are cocky, they need to be able to generate heat and right now they dont

Del Rio: appears to pretty much be a lock for this year. Even if somehow he doesn't get the belt at WM27 he's being pushed to the moon and will continue being a major player on Smackdown with a world titles sometime this year.

Barrett: Likely but he's gonna have to get past this Corre gimmick to get the job done, I think. He carried the Nexus on the mic and was over as a major heel on Raw most of last year. I don't think it'll happen immediately, but i see it happening before this year's done.

Morrison: an enigma to me honestly. Has all the talent, the ability to have great matches and put people over in great matches. Impressive looking but not so big as to look unstoppable. But his best mic work has been as a heel. His ECW champ days, his work with the Miz and MNM brought out a side of him I just don't see right now. I see Morrison becoming champ but i don't see it as a face. His biggest problem is that RAW doesn't have enough main event faces to just turn immediately. It'll take time but that's what I see happening.

Christian:A veteran that has done everything but win the big one, and I can see easily being pushed hard this year. With the main event picture hurting on Smackdown, Christian is a guy who can come in and work well on the mic and in the ring with the rising talent to keep the show going strong. Also with a built in feud with Del Rio, being in the title picture seems a lock.

Ziggler: Also getting a huge push up until the firing angle, and had a very brief (REALLY brief) title run, but I see him staying in the main event picture and

Possible title runs:

Sheamus: completely lost his way and I think WWE realized they pushed him really hard way too soon. Has all the best heel traits but still appears to be one dimensional. His matches with Orton and Morrison have made him look more credible but he needs more than being a mean Celtic bully to get where he has to go to keep the title for more than a short while.

Dibiase: He has all the potential in the world, but has really gotten lost in the mix here. Learned quite a bit from being in the Legacy stable and seemed to come off of it with a head of steam, but has fallen flat. He needs a good feud and time to spotlight his heel skills this year to get the belt, but it could happen.

Rhodes: has had a lot of exposure and solid matches and unlike DiBiase his character has had more main event rub and development. This Narcissist gimmick is silly but like his brother he's giving a bad gimmick life.

Other dark horses include McIntyre who I also think is getting lost in the shuffle; Bryan who admittedly needs mic work but if he can get back to the strong face theat feuded with Cole and Miz on NXT stands a much better chance of getting there this year. That and he would be a good face to push up as Raw has very few beyond Cena and Morrison. But the latter 2 are outside chances for this year, though i think both will do very well.

My second choice would be Dolph Ziggler. I really enjoy watching him when he first started out. I liked watching him when he was the IC champ, at least to me he was a good champion. Just hope that he can win the title without Vickie, I think he works better as a solo heel.
