Where is the discussion on Daren Aronofskys upcoming movie "The Wrestler"?

I though this forum would be all over it but since the thread was made by Jake like 2 - 3 months ago it's had a maximum of 9 posts! Get over to the movie and television section my friends!

:hogan:

It doesn't make a difference to me if people go to "the wrestler" thread or not, I just find it so bizzare that a mainstream film which is getting rave reviews from all over the movie world is not even getting any recognition on a "wrestling forum"

True, it's not out yet but there is a fair amount of hype about the film... but good point.

Secondly, it's been bought by Fox Searchlight, it will have a limited release in the US in December then on January 16th it will be released nationwide in US and UK acording to IMDB

Fair ammount of hype on wrestling news sections. It's getting about the same ammount of hype as a lot of films on movie websites.

It won't come to your local multiplex Fizzle. The thread might possibly pick up once it comes on DVD.

perhaps your right for the most part but it has huge features on it on the Variety website, Roger Ebert has some stuff on it, it's picked up countless awards at film festivals and was used as the suprise film at london film festival, fox searchlight has it on there front page (wich isn't to suprising considering there gonna wanna plug it)

In my opinion it's getting as much hype from the film industry if not more than it's getting from the wrestling industy. This could be down to the fact that it's the ressurection of Mickey Rourke, the crown of his acting career and the fact that it's Darren Aronofsky back on form after failing to please with The Fountain.

No matter how big the release is of the film it's going to be a cult classic I think you'd agree? And yet on a Wrestling forum it's not even getting people remotely intrested, just saddens me is all.

Because this is a wrestling forum not a film forum. It's a drama not something that's supposed to be fun like Ready 2 Rumble.

If it got 9 posts it's a success. That credit crunch has effect the forum in many ways.

Ah yeah your right, forgive me for thinking a film called "the wrestler" had any place on a wrestling forum.

Good news Jake, this thread reached 9 (10 now posts)... I think we can all agree now that it has been a success.
