Greatest Reversal in WWE History?

Ok so Im trying to get away from Cena heel turn, title unification, and all the other common thread topics. So I was thinking, what is the greatest move reversal in wwe history. I can remember two that really stood out to me. #1 and my absolute favorite (that I can remember right now) is Jericho reversing Punk's top rope frankensteiner into the walls of Jericho at WM28. I was there live and I though it looked amazing and it got the biggest pop of the match. #2 Is Orton reversing Taker's chokeslam into an RKO at WM21. I loved this and it came out of nowhere.

What do you guys think is the best reversal you have ever seen in the WWE?

WM29, CM Punk vs. Undertaker, where the Deadman literally sat up out of the Anaconda Vise. It's pretty recent but still by far the most badass visual I've ever seen in a match.

These are the first ones that popped into my mind and they were all IC Title matches.

WM8: Bret Hart reversing Roddy Piper's sleeper hold by jumping onto the 2nd rope and pushing himself backwards, landing on top of Piper for the 3 count.

WM3: Steamboat reversing Savage's bodyslam into a small package for the pin.

SummerSlam 92: Bret goes for a sunset flip, but Bulldog puts his knees down to the mat and hooks Bret's legs to win the IC Title.

Davey's pin on Bret and Owen's pin on Bret are pretty much a tie... both were not flashy, but moments that had never been seen before. I give the slight edge to Davey's as it had more of a "check mate" feel where as Owen's seemed more of a desperation move.

But think about it, what's so special about tombstone into tombstone? etc it's only happening cos the other guy is helping... but those two above, even though they were planned they didn't feel planned... it felt like both guys had decided "this is my moment and I'm taking it" rather than showboating.

Third, for similar reasons is gonna be the Hogan missed Legdrop at WM6, sure it's not a strict reversal but for years it let to rumors that Warrior had intentionally moved and won the match against orders... he hadn't but for it to built that legend meant it had impact.

Other honorable mentions are DiBiase's rollover on Bret in Taker's debut Survivor match, the above mentioned Frankensteiner into the Walls and I always used to love the old turned over figure four spot whenever anyone did it... it makes no difference whatsoever, but they made it look like they were killing the knee...

DDP reversing Giants top rope chokeslam into a diamond cutter at starrcade 98 was awesome.

Bret Harts reversal of Mr Perfect into a Sharpshooter at Summerslam 91 was a good one too.

Shelton Benjamin getting super kicked off of a springboard.

last but not least Evan Bourne getting RKOed off of a shooting star press was insane.

I always liked it when Benoit would counter anything with a crossface. It always looked pretty sweet when he'd lock that in after countering something as basic as a clothesline. It made him look dangerous as a competitor that could beat any guy quickly.

I like most counters into submissions when it's done quickly because when done right it can be a great way to quickly change a match's momentum. Angle used to do it great with the ankle lock as well, he'd get at you and counter from the most unlikely moves in order to lock it in. It's the visual more than anything. Special mention to him countering Sweet Chin Music at Wrestlemania. It wasn't the finish but it played with the crowd's emotions beautifully.

Most of the ones that I've liked have involved Rey Mysterio, lol. I guess he has a knack for selling them really well. The ones I thought of were:

1. Codebreaker from Chris Jericho on Rey Mysterio at The Bash (2009)
2. Spear from Edge on Rey Mysterio at Royal Rumble (2008)
3. Spear from Edge on Rey Mysterio at Elimination Chamber (2011)
4. Spear from Roman Reigns on Rey Mysterio at Survivor Series (2013)
5. Sweet Chin Music from Shawn Michaels on Rey Mysterio on SmackDown
6. Sweet Chin Music from Shawn Michaels on Shelton Benjamin on RAW

For me the answer is easy: Stone Cold catching HBKs leg and spinning him around before dropping him with the Stunner at wrestlemania 14 and ushering in the most successful era of pro wrestling yet.

Not sure if this one will count, but a very close second is Bret Hart countering a spear from Goldberg on Nitro by strapping a lead plate around his abdomen which knocks Bill out mid move. Not a classic reversal, but an increadibly smart move by the Hitman.

Two of my favourite reversals are moments that made Randy Orton.

The first is Chris Benoit's attempted Crippler Crossface into an RKO at Summerslam 2004. This one really, and I mean REALLY caught me by suprise, nor did I see Orton winning the match at all. I figured Benoit would end up kicking out but you can imagine how shocked I was when he didn't.

And second is the Chokeslam into the RKO at Wrestlemania 21. That reversal made me a believer, I truly thought Orton was going to end the streak right then and there. That match with Orton at Wrestlemania is the only time I was ever convinced that the streak was going to end. It took Orton to the next level as a main eventer.

Some other cool reversals that haven't been mentioned -

Orton countering Cena's FU into an RKO at Bragging Rights 2009 and in a Tables match they had on Raw

Orton twisting out of the Twist Of Fate and hitting Jeff Hardy with the RKO at Royal Rumble 2008

HBK going for the moonsault and Taker catching him for the Tombstone at Wrestlemania 25

HBK reversing the Pedigree into a Jacknife Pin at Summerslam 2002

Can't remember the exact date BUT here's one from the memory banks

It was during Hogan's last WWE run,

In a match against Kurt Angle he went for the leg drop,Kuirt caught the leg and turned it into the ankle lock..

Where others may have just kicked out the count from the leg drop,
that was the first time I remember anyone reversing it.

All the ones previously listed are great & I second all of those. A few more recent ones that pop into my mind...

The 25th Anniversary Of Wrestlemania: HBK's moonsault & HBK trying to skin the cat & toss Taker to the outside getting reversed into Tombstone Piledriver's were both absolutely epic.

Wrestlemania XXVI: Y2J's reversal of Edge's spear into a Codebreaker. It wasn't necessarily the coolest visual I've ever seen but it made me literally jump out of my seat when Jericho hit that to win the match. I think many others besides myself were not only expecting Edge to win that match but genuinely didn't see that last reversal coming.

Wrestlemania XXVII: Randy Orton hitting the RKO on CM Punk's top rope clothesline. I don't know if it's because Punk & Orton had such an amazing match that night or if it just generally looked cooler to me but this is not only one of my more favorite reversals but my absolute favorite RKO of all time (even more so than Evan Bourne in mid-flight).
Not sure if this one will count, but a very close second is Bret Hart countering a spear from Goldberg on Nitro by strapping a lead plate around his abdomen which knocks Bill out mid move. Not a classic reversal, but an increadibly smart move by the Hitman.
Also I don't know if this one counts either but this immediately reminded me of when Roddy Piper wore the vest that said "Shock Proof" to reverse/avoid The Mountie's caddle prod.

A few recent ones which I'm a big fan of:

Incredibly, I don't have a gif of Antonio Cesaro reversing Sami Zayn's top rope DDT into Swiss Death.

If there was a list, half of them would be RKO's and diamond cutters. How about this one?

It's not the "best ever" anything, but Orton reversing Rolling Thunder into his signature slam sticks in the mind.

Cena's roll through off of a cross body from the top rope into the AA is an impressive sight. He's done this spot more than once (the last one was with Rock at Wrestlemania 28, I think), but I never get tired of seeing it.
