Greatest Gimmick In WWE History

I personally believe that goes to the deadman the undertaker!.

No character has been more over with the crowd for a longer period of time such as the undertaker ( I said long period of time so sorry hogan) every time he comes back he is over with the crowd and gets huge pops. The deadman thing might sound corny but it works and has for 20 twenty years

Personally, I think the best gimmick was TL Hopper...

Seriously, one that can't be forgotten would be Hogan. His gimmick is still the most recognizable in the modern era. I mean even people who aren'wrestlingng fans knew of Hogan even before the reality series.

This is a real tough one but if I had to make a quick answer (otherwise I wouldn't be able to answer as I'd think about for all eternity) - I'd have to say "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase.

His gimmick was just so perfect. They even used to upgrade his airline tickets to 1st class, chauffer him around in limousines, even when he wasn't on camera to give off the illusion to any wrestling fan that would see him that he really was, in fact, 'the million dollar man'.

Another incredible storyline used several times over his career was his ability to "buy" the services of other wrestlers, even purchasing the WWF Heavyweight Title from Andre the Giant (forcing it to be stripped, vacanted, and a giant tournament to be put in place for it at WM4). Another real big swerve was Tatanka adamently pleading with the audience that Lex Luger had sold out and taken money for his services to join the 'Million Dollar Team' and for a while the audience didn't know what to believe as Tatanka was a big face at the time...until it was finally revealed that it was Tatanka who sold out instead! These types of swerves are basically expected today where something like this back in the early 90's certainly barely ever happened...making it that much more exciting.

Amen, brother. Good call. Hulk Hogan is the only professional wrestler in history to be bigger than wrestling itself. As Arn Anderson said in the "Top 40 Superstars" dvd (or whatever it was called), and this is not verbatim by any means - "Hulk Hogan was so big, you would be talking about wrestling in general with somebody who didn't know anything about it and they would say 'oh that's the thing that Hulk Hogan does...'"

As popular as The Rock, Steve Austin, and John Cena may be...a lot of non-wrestling fans would not know who any of those guys were (i.e. my dad, mom, grandparents, etc.) while they would know precisely who Hulk Hogan was.
