Grade President Obama On These Four Areas

But should she be taxed more because she works harder than someone who does not earn as much? Shall we continue to nurture and care for the same people that are hurting the economy because they need a free hand out? Why should anyone work and earn their pay if we can just tax the higher earners?

Who are they?

Also, who determines who gets these handouts and the reasons they need the handouts. The problem isn't the people getting the handouts, its the system that allows them to get the handouts.

I will not even comment on the types of people who need them, because I do not judge. The thing is, we cannot shut the system down entirely which is what is being proposed. The vulnerable and children are the ones being hurt from these tax cuts, not the rich, not the middle-class..

There are problems with the system, but if you make over 250,000 a year, you do not need tax cuts. That's just it to....

We aren't asking for the high earners to pay higher taxes, entirely. This time, this issue, is about the tax breaks for the high earners. Why not repeal the tax breaks and go back to normalcy? Or is normalcy not good enough?

And yes, Obama is a major key on why $4 a gallon. He has worked so hard against off shore drilling and domestic drilling. Him and the rest of the liberals were against drilling in a hell hole in Alaska because he doesn't want America to stop sucking of the tit that is the Middle East when it comes to oil.
[

Do you seriously believe this?

America is behind in oil production not because a man's been in office for two years and a half years and didn't decide to drill. Even if he did decide to drill in Alaska, said ok, lets build some new drilling sites, Great. How long until we see the gas at the pump go down? Years.

Gas would of still gone up because of the BS in the middle east/africa. Please, if you are going to hate someone, make it a good reason... Something he's at least responsible for.... :-/

No matter how much we tried to drill, we would not reap any benefit for a generation.

As I said before, this isn't so much as Obama's fault.. But more, an entire generation of voters and politicians. They failed to build for the future and built only for the present while other countries were dreaming for the stars.

FYI, I'm a moderate. I couldn't care less about either party, I usually go issue by issue. Just figured I'd throw that out there.

1. The economy. How do you think he's handled the debt as well as balanced the books in general? What about unemployment?

C.

He inherited an absolute shit show. I understand he has held office for more than two years, but, this mess wasn't going to be cleaned up in two years, no matter who took charge. To be fair, I don't place the majority of the blame on Bush, either. That situation is far more complicated than any ideological pundit or politician will ever say, so, there's plenty of blame to go around. However, he gets some credit for not making it any worse. The bottom hasn't fallen out, no matter what FOX news and Rush Limbaugh may tell you.

2. The war. Did he live up his promises in your opinion? Do you think that we're in a better place when it comes to our involvement in the Middle East?

B.

Osama bin Laden was killed on Obama's watch , and that means something. I give him credit here because I would have done the same for a Republican President, and that President would have taken credit in the same manner Obama did.

Afghanistan - A necessary war, in my view, ten years ago. But, it's ten years later, and we're still there. Muslim extremists aren't giving up, and we aren't going to defeat an entire ideology, no matter how many troops we send over. Does that mean we stop fighting? No, it doesn't. Hard to grade Obama here, either way, seeing we haven't reached his pull-out date. Still a lot left to consider with this particular situation.

Iraq - Shouldn't be there, end of story. I will not complain about the removal of that piece of trash who ran Iraq prior to our arrival, but, I never thought this war was a necessary one. I don't know if Bush lied, or went in under the assumption that his intelligence was accurate. Either way, it's time to leave. This is another area where I don't believe enough has unfolded to give Obama any sort of grade.... yet.

Libya - This didn't bother me, at all. No troops, not terribly expensive, no lengthy involvement, and we saved some lives. Good job here.

3. Health care. Pretty straight-forward. How do you think he's handled it thus far?

C-.

While I usually land in the middle as it relates to policy, I happen to believe health care is a right, not a privilege. If you're sick, you should be provided for. This is my point of view on healthcare, just to set that straight.

I won't pretend to have a solution to this problem. I feel everyone is equally important as it relates to personal health, but, I don't know how to solve the problem. Switching to single-payer, now, wouldn't work. I think single-payer should have been our policy from the start, but making that transition, right now, wouldn't go over well.

However, I give Obama credit for at least doing something about this problem. And, it most definitely is a problem. "Obama-Care" isn't operational, yet, so I'm not sure if it helps or hurts the country, as a whole. But, something needed to be done, and the GOP sure as shit wasn't standing up with some sort of plan. This issue means nothing to them.

4. Things in general. How do you feel about his term in general?

B.

Maybe the grade is a bit high, but I have watched this guy take more shit from his opponents than any other President I can remember. On a personal level, too. He isn't an American! He's a socialist! We want our country back! Over the past two years, the GOP has made me sick to my stomach. While I don't always agree with liberals, they haven't gotten under my skin the way conservatives have over the past two years. The GOP has gone so far right that I'm afraid it may never return to where it was pre-Obama. He hasn't gone nearly as left as they have right, and that's a fact.

So, in short, I almost feel bad for the guy, and that probably weighs in on my grading. Maybe it shouldn't, but it does.

I think he's a smart guy, a solid leader. I like that he's more contemplative than our last President, not such a "cowboy." He doesn't act off of emotion, and that's more my style. However, from time to time, I wouldn't mind seeing a little fire in this guys eyes. I would like to see a bit more of him as he was right after the killing of Osama bin Laden (deliberate is probably the right word). I think he is, underneath it all, a strong guy, as strong as Bush, actually. But, he doesn't show it, and I think some people do not like that.

I want to know my President is an intelligent guy. With Bush, I just wasn't sure. I didn't think he was an idiot like 99% of liberals would have you believe, but I didn't think he was the smartest guy in the room either. Obama has that quality, which is big for me, personally, as a voter. I like the guy, too. Seems like a good, solid, intelligent man.
