I can't even begin to explain how much I loathe Goldberg and the opinions behind why I do. But I'll try...
He's unsafe in the ring. For proof ask Bret Hart and his skull.
He's limited in his ability. I've watched his performances from his TV debut with Bill DeMott all the way to his last WWE run and some of his Japan stuff. He doesn't know how sell, and his acceptance of opponents' offense is ridiculous. He is a strong and fast mover, don't get me wrong on that, but I don't feel he has the pacing ability to deliver a true back-and-forth encounter ala Michaels, Hart, Styles, or Angle. He was a worker who also was pushed way too fast. His undefeated streak would've been a great idea, if he was a heel. Jim Ross said it best on Raw one night when he fired back at WCW by saying something along the lines of "you won't see any 10 second main events here." This was referring to Goldberg giving the spear and Jackhammer to Paul Wight the week before in one of the biggest pissed-away main events in Nitro history (you can find the match in it's entirety on Youtube). The day Goldberg was pushed was the day WCW began to die, and coincidentally that was the day WWE began to overtake them. With the exception of a couple of matches I figured Goldberg might actually lose, I couldn't stand watching WCW main events with him because they began to move way past predictable, and WCW was my favorite for quite a while. Goldberg needed about two years of seasoning, I feel, before he should've been given even the US belt. He reminded me of the Warlord. Just not as good.
