GM for RAW yet?

i am not so concerned with the naming of the GM as opposed to the storyline.

I think vince should name someone that he THINKS will run raw the way he wants it run. But right there, in front of Vince, the dude, or chick, starts making decisions that vince starts to question.

Right as vince has had enough and is ready to fire this person, they pull out their "iron-clad" contract signed by linda, and tell him tough titties.

that man you may be talking about could be none other than the rock(if you smell what im cooking). Who better? Rocky has always been a business man. and even had a run as part of the Corporation.HELL, he can still wrestle today at his age and won't be stuck in a fully wrestling role. During breaks for movies he can pretape segments and decisions and post them on the titantron. IMO this would be a ground breaking decision and one that would save RAW as it is muchly needed

In my opinion Ric Flair should be the GM. The main reason being that he is a big draw. I think Flair is ratings because he is so popular. His past feud with Vince would make it even more interesting. They did the Stonecold thing a while back and that was a hit. I know Flair was "part owner" when he came to WWE but I think this would be something they could run with for a while.

Really Bischoff should be Raw GM. He has already proven he can get heat and not only that, he was ENTERTAINING! Most GM's that you see now are boring and suck up to all the faces. WWE should try and at least always have one Heel GM and Bischoff is the right man to do it.

I dont see Flair stepping into the roll again, his last run as GM/owner wasnt very thrilling, and we really dont need any more people involved in the Orton/Triple H feud that needs to end.

I dont think Eric Bischoff will ever go back to the WWE, ever no matter what the pay, but I do agree that he was the best GM of Raw since the brand split

The Rock? hahaha yeah ok he already turned his back on wrestling, and why would he come back to be a GM, rather than an active memeber of the roster? hardly

How about The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes? "The Ice Man Man of a 1001 Holds" Dean Malenko? "Damn!" Ron Simmons?

He wouldn't be my ideal choice, not that I have anything against Ricky Steamboat.

He's been working house shows recently, so he's still involved in more than just his normal job, proving he is loving the ridiculous pops he's received. It wouldn't do anything to draw people in, but the fans would enjoy it, for a few weeks at least.

I wouldn't choose him, because the fans would get bored before long, but he would be well liked for a few weeks, so I see him as a candidate.

A GM for Raw? This discussion has been done before, but now, it's imminent. Vince won't run things for long and hopefully...they'll fit Donald Trump into a GM role. Don't see that happening, but it'd be fresh and based on the ratings Trump grabbed for the WWE, it'd mean more money for McMahon.

Flair should do it, but won't. His last stint as GM wasn't too thrilling. Unless he does his whole act as the "President" of WCW, when he was a lunatic who was stripping naked and going apeshit anywhere, anytime, it won't work.

Another candidate that's been seldom mentioned is William Regal. Regal wasn't too good as GM, but he's better than Vickie. Seriously. Another good candidate would be someone like Dusty Rhodes. Someone who's charismatic and well known. Shane or Stephanie would be great, too. But that would suck for Orton and no one wants to see Orton tortured every week.

Ok so i have read about a few good ideas for the Gm, and a few completely off the wall ideas....

Stupid Ideas - Matt Hardy and Batista, we all know that matt will wrestle but his mic skills just bore me. And it's not like his brother is on Raw to where he can screw him over cuz on SD thats what he was trying to do the whole time. Now Batista. Does anyone else not turn the channel everytime he gets up to talk. His mic skills are like his wrestling, plain and old? Am i the only one who sees Scott Stiener in the ring again when Batista fights..... Well hell why dont we just let hornswoggle or Jillian be GM? I Got a Better idea, lets let that kid who was in the make a wish foundation take over things again. Or even Linda hogan :O :O :O

The Ones i like are HBK if he went heel and came back. Talk about persona Michaels can put on quite a show if it's in the ring or on the mic he is an all around performer. King would also be a good one with the "KING OF RAW" type gimmick. Stone Cold would bring ratings but i'm sick of hearing everyone scream WHAT WHAT WHAT now.

If they wanted a surpise and this one is WAY WAY OFF and WILL NEVER HAPPEN.... The Rock.

But a few people in my eyes who would be good would be Vince Russo, hell they already brought Bischoff back why not Russo, he can be a great heel.
Bret Hart would be a good one and when HBK comes back Hart can Repeatedly screw him out of title shots.

Thats just my opinion tho, they could even move and have a new GM For ECW and bring back RVD

Yes, that would be awesome. I would LOVE to see The Rock back in the wrestling world and this move would definitely pull WWE out of the grave. However I do not see this happening as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has already said that he would never go back to the wrestling world. He may just have been talking about the wrestling part and he may come back as GM and not wrestle. But again, I do not see this happening.

If WWE really played there cards right they could do wonders, First instead of matches ending in a dq or count out, a gm could reverse it, hey hey now these people didn't come to see a dq they came to see a finish. Remeber when foley was the gm and he changed matches added matches and even made awesome plans. Like if you don't wrestle again ur fired, I think foley was a good gm, I would really like to see Stone Cold Steve Austin, because one he can wrestle too people know him and 3 if i knew stone cold was gm i wold tune in every monday. The whole donald trumph thing is kinda good, i mean they killed it to quick, but i have a feeling due to mcmahon firing him, he will sue or make a lawsuit and win raw, vince should bring back wcw..just my opinon

I like the idea of a heel lawler except for that i would miss his commentary...personally i think regal should be GM but it has to be the regal back when he had Tajiri as his assistant..or bring back Eugene...or there are alot of legends that would be a good choice...flair, piper, steamboat...piper would be perfect for the role since he doesnt care who he pisses off and wont kiss anyones ass...piper could make you care about a match between hornswoggle and a tuna sandwich

Eric Bischoff, obviously, is the best man for the job. by far. but we all know how bischoff feels about the WWE right now so thats out of the question.

Flair is busy doing his own thing right now, touring the country meeting his fans and what not so im pretty sure that is out of the question right now. I think he is still feeling that 'itch' to wrestle again.

Personally, i think Vince already has someone lined up for the job and a plan for RAW. The Trump deal was just something to kill time. So im guessing he'll buy time for a few weeks until a week or 2 before Night of Champions to make a drastic turn for RAW with a new GM. but until then, i think we'll be seeing a little more of Vince until his plan goes thru.

Why does Raw even need a GM? With Vince back in charge I can see him taking hold of things for a while anyway and most likely turning a little bit heel. I think that Raw functions best when Vince is taking charge too because there is no middle man so to speak. I hated all of the previous GM's with the exception of Bischoff. I think if they were to fill that void, which I clearly hope they don't, I hope that it is Ric personally. When you think about, the last couple of GM's have been heel and I think it would be a breath of fresh air if a face was to become the new GM. I think that Ric would be the perfect choice. The fans would enjoy it and he could make some fair matches that we actually want to see.

What about another name like IRS or actually Mike Rotundo? He is older and retired. Rotundo has a solid history in the wrestling world, and I think he is believable as an authority figure. He always seemed nerdy to me anyhow, and comes off as "boss" like. How about Mike Rotundo folks?

Okay so here we go.

So next Monday or the Monday after next Monday WWE.com announces that there will be a surefire announcement on RAW tonight for a new RAW General Manager. So there is a bunch of speculation. On RAW, Randy Orton finds out he isn't on the card, and goes to Vince and demands to know what's going on. Vince tells Randy that for a matter of fact he is on the card, in a Street Fight against a mystery opponet choosen by the new GM. So when it comes match time, Orton comes out. He waits for his opponet and from out of nowhere Umaga attacks him from behind. Umaga attacks him with various weapons, does his signature moves, and basically just squashes Orton. Then across the PA system:

MY NAME IS ARMANDO...ALEJANDRO...ESTRADA! and a generic music hits.

Now we have a fresh face, someone who has some experience in the postion (Colin Delaney earning a contract anyone?), plus Estrada is pretty good on the mic and funny at times. I'm not too crazy about it, but it isn't that far off the wall (Hardy, Batista?) and can't be any worse than Vickie,Adamle. Oh and Umaga could be a one time appearance, because I know The E wouldn't hire him full time again.

Its a little weird to me that Vince would be hanging around Smackdown tonight. He was giving Teddy Long a very hard time. Maybe he just leading us on. I wouldnt be suprised if Teddy ends up running both shows. He just a great character, and he just makes you love him. If not Ric, Teddy.

I think the manager should be the father of one of the members of legacy. What better way to be the biggest stars on the show than to have your father as it's GM. I can almost see all the great rivalries coming out of that.

^^^ yes it should be Ted Sr. and this is how Ted Jr. leaves Legacy and turns face like rumored. Ted Sr. keeps telling his son, why are you wrestling for Orton, and doing what he says, why are you getting beat up for him and not getting anything in return, why hasn't he given you a title shot? at first Ted jr. goes agaisnt him, but every week thinks more and more about it. he talks to cody about it, but cody blows him off each time. then at a ppv he costs Orton the title, finally turning face, next night on raw he says how is father was right all along and Randy was just using him.

In my opinion, I believe that Vince might just be the GM himself. He, in the kayfabe sense,
is highly relieved to have his ownership of raw back, and wants to prove he can run things like the old things.

But if there's a new GM, it will most likely disappoint. We know it won't be Flair, due to a article on the main site. I just think that whomever they pick will be God Awful, because the creative team seems to have no new ideas lately, but they seem to be starting to get better. But i have no idea who would be the new GM. Teddy long would be good too....he does well on smackdown but its un likely that he would do two shows in both kayfabe and real life. Tiffany is just flat out awful, so she shouldn't do two shows( or one, but that's another thread)

Since Ted SR. name was thrown in there while I previously said IRS or Mike Rotundo why not have both of them run each of the shows? With Ted's money, and Schyster's wits in the tax world they could have earned enough money to become share owners of RAW & Smackdown, thus being billed as "GM's" of their respective shows.

I would think that Teddy would be the GM of Smackdown, and try to lure his son Teddy JR. over to Smackdown where he could become more successful, especially if he is a "heel". It would create an interesting situation for Ted Jr., and it would provide a reason to leave Legacy.

Rotundo would be perfect RAW, and I don't mean with the IRS gimmick. Just professional business type with the sense to run a wrestling show. He is a former wrestler, and has been in some classic matches. People know who he is, but the younger crowd doesn't which makes him "fresh". Schyster was always able to draw heat, and I think he would work well for RAW or Smackdown.

My personal favorite would have to be Flair but from my understandings Flair and WWE have cut ties, so my next favorite choice would be Dusty Rhodes. I just think it would be some entertaining scenarios between him and Cody with him being displeased with Cody being Orton's whipping boy and then to add a little comedy you can have some very interesting skits with Dusty and Goldust. Other than that though Dusty has been around the business for forever the fans love and respect him plus is is so charismatic and pretty good on the mic. IDK if it would work but its just my opinion.

Maybe this is a silly question, but with Trump gone does this mean the search for a GM is still in the making?

Well. Trump may not be done. The WWE is teasing that Trump might be coming back for more. Twas in a press release of theirs. Might be digging for ratings, might be them teasing us with a Trump return. It does seem highly premature for a Raw Ownership angle to be ended in a week.

But yes, this will mean a new GM is needed for Raw. Unless of course Vince takes the reins. Him setting up that 3 Stages of Hell match (which, by the way, had really weak stages of hell. A stretcher match? Psssh.) could have been a foreshadowing of this happening.

The WWE needs to pick the ball up here, and make a strong move already. I honestly feel that they should turn Lawler heel, and him take over RAW.

Sudden Turn= No one is going to buy it. He's been face and drooling over Divas for how long?

Secondly, Lawler has no standing to take over Raw. They could, in no way, explain that storyline wise. Lawler isn't McMahon's long lost father. McMahon knows who his father was. Vince McMahon Sr. to be exact.

Kill the "The King" gimmick, and all that silly shit he says. Make him serious, and vindictive.

Vindictive over what? All the respect those silly faces show him? Or the general disregard heels show him, since he's just an announcer? Doesn't make sense for him to be pissed at anyone.


I, for one, would pick Vince. Just because. Though that would border on Vince stacking the odds against Orton, making him the second coming of Edge. Dastardly, sneaky Orton. Always sneaking out of the odds, like Edge does every night.

Screw Vince. Let's go with HBK. He could do his tweener shit that every one loves and just say "Ah, the hell with it." Do what he wants to do. Also, would make for a lovely "Screw you Triple H" scene when Triple H asks for a special match against Orton and HBK laughs in his face. People would be pissed.
