Dark Match Winner
I Suddenly remembered that TNA might be on last night so about a little after 10:00pm (Canadian Time) I tuned in and was pleasantly surprized to find "Global Impact"...I thought it was so frickin' awesome..like I haven't literally dropped what I was doing to watch wrestling in a very looong time and that was the case last night. My point is..there was so much actual wrestling and serious, legitimate interviews not just silly promos..and the title match between Kurt and Nagada was beyond amazing...it would be so nice if this kind of programming was on every week..my only complaint was the commentating...Mike Tenay, and especially Don West annoy the hell out of me..

Yeah, I caught the tale end of it.. with the Kurt Angle v. Nagada (sp?) match. But I had it recorded for me, & I was UNhappy to find out that the entire extra hour was nothing but promos, talking & nothing else except the "build-up" to the Angle match. I thought that was kinda crap.. especially since T.N.A. is apparently releasing a DVD later with 6 matches, including the Angle one.. & 3 hours of extra features on them traveling over there.

Pfft, overall.. T.N.A. to me, dropped the ball on this special. Had they of shown more matches, especially the caliber I'd expect Japan matches to be, even if they are T.N.A. ones.. they could've really pulled up pure wrestling fans from that single show alone.

And yes, I had a slight conversation about the crap ass commentary last night as well. I loved how Tennay was like "We're gonna step aside so you can enjoy a slice of the orient" or something.. then they went to the japanese announcers for most likely NO LESS than a single minute.. only for Don West & Tenay to cut back in rambling on like "Wow, wasn't that exciting?!" How the f*ck should I know, I didn't get to listen long enough to form an opinion.

I for one watched the whole special, as well as the entire Impact! preceding it. I thought tonight with both shows TNA looked pretty damn good, compared to some of their shows in the past. The graphics were good, the interviews, and the wrestling, as always, was top-notch. (Tomko is the real deal, huh?)
Yeah, I wish TNA would have aired more of the matches, but they gotta showcase their star player, Kurt Angle. Not like it was a bad thing. The match with Nagata was one of the best Angle matches I have ever seen, and he has had some classics. Just seeing him reverse the crossface into the ankle lock was awesome.
Overall, I think TNA did pretty well with the special. Hopefully in the future they will release a DVD of their time in New Japan, for I am definitely buying it. It just goes to show that TNA can hang in the overseas market...WWE didn't do too well on their recent tour of Japan, as far as I've heard. I'm not saying this will be so revolutionary that TNA will explode, I'm just saying it was well worth the time...

I waited for 2 weeks or more with great anticipation for Global Impact. I watched Impact like I do every week just thinking about how when its over I get to see wrestlers I have only heard of, but never got to actually watch perform. Then it comes on, and I am thinking to myself wtf I tuned in to see wrestling not shit I pretty much have already seen on TNA Today. Don't get me wrong the Angle Nagata match was extraordinary to say the least, but the rest was like some kind of clip show advertising for some dvd. I realize it was only on for an hour (which should have gave me my first clue that I would be disapointed), but come on I don't want to see Tomko ride the subway to go to the gym. They build it up, and tell you that its a style american wrestling fans aren't familiar with (only if they haven't been on Youtube), and then they totally drop the ball. What a total let down.

I don't watch TNA anymore. I haven't for nearly a year now, but I was looking forward to Global Impact...

That is until I heard it was an hour long filled with commercials and interviews and only 1 match. So instead of supporting that crap I decided to watch all the TNA vs. NJPW matches on the internet.

Needless to say The Steiners suck and no matter how hard TNA/NJPW tried to sell them as legends the Japanese crowd just really didn't care for them. Bernard & Tomko are awesome! Go out of your way to watch more Bernard & Tomko.

Also go watch Christan, AJ Styles, & Petey Williams vs. Minoru, Milano Collection AT, & Prince Devitt. This is probably the best match out of all the TNA vs. NJPW matches.

Like everybody else, I watched it expecting at least 3 to 4 matches but in return got a half hour in promos and commercials, showing a couple clips from the other matches, WTF? That could've been a really good show but instead we saw one match, which was very good, and bad commentary, as usual.

Had TNA made it a two hour special with more matches, etc. then I would've enjoyed it but being half asleep throughout the whole first part made me not want to watch it.

Every Time TNA has a chance to hook me into watching they manage to bore me with a long promo I for one was looking to matches in Tokyo as I have seen some DVD's from there and kinda know what to expect. the fact they didn't show any matches and pretty much said here are the guys you know already from the WWE ie; Kurt Angle, Tomko, and Team 3d. I know they only pushed them cause they were all over there before. I for one who was actually interested and checked in between my Beloved Lakers playing the Suns in a game that ment something I had actually paid more attention to the Lakers Suns game than TNA... I think TNA will be like Ben Stiller to me where everyone else finds something interesting or funny about it , I will find nothing in the least interesting about it and avoid it as much as I can. No Offence to the TNA Fans out there but I wish they had more home grown stars this is why I wish Direct TV would carry Ring of Honor matches so I can see some new stars and different stars and not the WWE stars who have moved on.

just more bait and switch. i was looking forward to seeing some good matches but instead i got a clip show. also they kept showing aj and christian hugging together, despite the fact theyre supposed to be in a feud. the angle nagata match was good, nothing revolutionary though. i usually enjoy TNA but i felt a little bored watching the 2 hour impact and global special. the best part of the global impact was tna being serious for like 20 minutes. i didnt really have a problem with west and tenay announcing, but the "cutaway" to the japanese announcers for 2 seconds was pretty lame. also some of those cheers sounded kinda canned. maybe this should be TNA's identity - more of a serious "sport" oriented japanese flavor. will it ever happen? of course not.

OK... Watching Impact! and ready to throw my TV set out the 3rd floor window, but I refrain. Thank god its finished!! But wait.... there's more. God help me!!

Watching... OOooh! Woow! Holy shit... wait a second!! This is actually fkn good!! Global Impact is gold!

This edition of Global Impact is in my opinion what a wrestling show should be. Granted with a little more actual wrestling rather than mini-clips and highlights, but this was GOLD!!

It was just completely different. This was real. It was reality TV at its best. A documentary / news report based product much akin to a UFC presentation. It featured real interviews, good solid real life promos, the press conference coverage was great, the wrestlers telling their stories did more to enhance their characters and tell us about who they are than 6 months worth of promos on Impact! and so much more.

This is what wrestling should be!! This should be where wrestling is headed. This should be what Impact! looks like. Anyone else of the same opinion?

Please agree, disagree!! And tell us why!

it was good wish they would of should the full matches but the one full match with kurt angle putting his igp world tittle on the line against the japanise guy was good it was a long match but it was good this was good for TNA they had a crowd of nearly 30,000 people

i checked it out on youtube and it made me wonder why they cn't do this on impact i mean the matches where decent most of the time so the steinrs match wasn't so hot but it was all relativly good WHY TNA WHY CAN YOU NOT DO THIS YOU HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY
