Rock is the most popular music on WZ, but what Do you hate What genre of music do you hate the most.
For me its

1. Screamo I am ok with a line or two with Screaming but not the whole song it sounds too agressive and closest song to screamo i like is Kim by Eminem. Screamo as i said is annoying and horrible almost as bad as....

2. Techno/Dubstep/House /Whatever its called now

I hate it, Some annoyng girl plays it 24/7 in class (I have like 3 out of 4 classes a semester added up its 12 classes 1 hour 15 min each of her "Music" it sounds like a Robot puked all over a pile of crap

I cannot stand:
Metal, Death Metal, Screamo, Emo & Country.
They're just shit. I just don't see how anyone can enjoy listening to it.

And unlike you, Breaking Saint, I like House and Dubstep. Yes, they are different things. I don't like techno, coz that sounds like "a Robot puked all over a pile of crap".
Dubstep and house are actual music. I like dubstep because the beat usually has close to a simple rock beat and as a drummer I can appreciate it.

I hate Scat Music.

I really hate this because it requires exactly zero talent. Two year olds do this everyday and nobody thinks that they are musical fucking prodigies. It is painful to listen to and if you watch people as they are scatting, they look like huge douche bags.

Anything and everything that requires Autotune for it to be somewhat listenable. This usually goes for most modern Pop Music. I can't stand it because it's like cheating. It requires no talent whatsoever. Other genres I change the station on are Modern Country, Techno, and most Modern Rap. Can't stand Techno and Rap for similar reasons; generally because they are too repetitive for my taste. I don't want to hear the same beat throughout a song, and I sure as hell do not wish to hear the same phrase said over and over again. There was a time when Rap touched on all kinds of subjects too, not just getting laid and smoking weed. That's something I don't dig in every song. And as for Country, well I grew up around that ever since I was little (raised in southern Arkansas...) and even when I was a kid I wished they would sing about something other than somebody or something dying, and having a beer.

I hate country music. Here in Calgary everything is country music and I just don't get it. Honestly it is possibly the most annoying thing to listen to and personally i refuse to even listen to it at all. I think every song reminds me of the same thing and I just feel no enthusiasm in the music. I also prefer music that doesn't have to have an instrument in it instead computer sound bytes work fine as well. But country music is not only something that pains me when listening to it but also just has no real appeal to it for me.

Well, I don't hate any particular genre, and I'm open to liking any and all kinds of music; but if I was forced to pick out one genre that I had to live without it would most definitely be country music.

Like most people here who picked country, I have my reasons. Even though I was born in Cali, and have resided here most of my life, I spent most of my early years living in Oklahoma, pretty much from preschool to 4th grade. That's pretty much a good six years worth of nothing, and I do mean nothing but god awful country music on every radio station known to man.

Jesus rock would probably be the #2 Genre on my list, there's a south park episode on it if you want to know more.

I listen to pretty much everything. Name an artist from any genre, and there's a chance I might know of them or like one of their songs.

But for me, Christian/gospel whatever they call it just turns me the f off. It just comes across as "HEY WORSHIP OUR GOD OR HE DOESN'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU!" to me. I know what my beliefs are, I don't need it repeated to me over, and over, and over, and over. The songs are always so melodramatic, which is something as a wrestling fan, I don't need any more of.. You know?

I agree with drewpost. Scat music is so painful to listen to, I cringe if I even think about it. It requires no brain power whatsoever and anybody with a working mouth could do it. As for my own contribution, it's country music. I don't care for it because it's far too lyrically oriented and depressing. When I listen to music I need an escape from reality into a fantasy realm where warriors are destroying dragons to save princesses, not some crying cowboy who's ex-wife just divorced him over a stolen pickup truck. Granted everyone has a right to their own taste in music and to those who like country or scat music, more power to you. Like what you have the right to like. I personally hate it, and that's just my own opinion. I'll stick to 80s hair metal or modern alternative rock music anyday.

The worse would have to be house and auto-tune music that you hear constantly on the radio or in any bar or dance clubs. I was never a fan of country music either, but I did like the old original country music with the likes of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, and George Jones. I can't stand this new era of country pop music that is only about driving a four wheel drive truck and picking up ****es. It is basically "don't touch my bible, guns, or religion" music.

I can't get into emo or most of depressing rock music nowadays either. Everyone is whining about how dreary life is. The only band that now sings about sex, drugs, and drinking is Nickelback. A band that knows jack shit about the old rock and roll lifestyle.

Pop, rap, hip-hop, techno. Besides a select artists, those genres are complete shit!

The worst part is that these genres are the ones that get the most recognition, while talented artists in the rock/metal/alternative etc get barely any....

I detest and I mean FUCKING HATE, Reggueton. It is the most shallow, blank and souless music I have ever heard. It is nothing but a cheap trick for money. Rap a couple of nonsense lyrics your "music producer" wrote for you over the same damn drum beat for 3 minutes, plug yourself and your record label for 2 and you're an instant hit. It's so damn disgusting. And the worst part is how popular it is. As if people strive on it's mediocrity. A song isn't even on the air for a week before a remix featuring a sack of parasites jump in to latch onto a song for more money.

And of course there's the Urban scene of music of today. The Popular genre of today. Mostly filled with the same crap. Do I need to name them? You should know. They are the one's with cheap gimmicks in their songs with lyrics that wouldn't make sense in any context and after 2 weeks on the air feature a remix with either Li' Wayne or that piece of shit, Pitbull./rant]

Modern Country is the genre I cannot stand to listen. That's not to say that there are no good Modern Country songs, but I definitely haven't found them. Every song that I hear coming out of the radio in this genre seems to be the plight of the Southern man. "My wife left me", "My kids don't love me", "I drink beer and fish to escape my lack of intelligence". Female country singers also seem to follow their stereotype. But I'm sure there are exceptions. I just can't find them.

Rap is a close runner up, but I can always find a few rap songs that I like. But I do find it difficult to find one that doesn't involve ho's, pimps, or ammunition.

Country music. I cannot stand any type of country music besides a select few Johny Cash songs. I don't like country for the same reason I don't like certain foods. I hear it, and almost immediately think "ugh, nah I'm good." It's nothing I can control, rationalize or explain. It's just my taste. I hate it. Now, I know I haven't listened to every single country song there is, in fact, I have hardly listened to the genre, but I know I don't like it. I don't need a reason to hate it but I do.

I also hate Metal/screamo/hardcore or whatever you wanna call it. I don't understand how anyone could listen to something without a melody. All it is, is screaming. The closest thing I will go to metal is Killswitch Engage or Disturbed. I only listen to them because they actually sing some what in their songs unlike many other metal artists.

Ouch, so much hate on Country I understand the reasoning though, I personally hated it when I was younger but ended up becoming a fan. But hey it's not for everyone
My choices for this list are Techno and Reggae
I try to be open minded when it comes to music because i've been surprised by some music that i've come to like. But these are two genres that I just dont seem to understand, techo just seems like noise and I feel like I would enjoy reggae if I was high but I dont smoke so that doesnt work for me.

The only rap i can tolerate is Eminem.

If it sounds good to my ears I'll listen to it, name any genre and I'll probably like at the very least a select few artists. The exception to the rule might be Gospel Music though, but I'm against these blanket statements proclaiming music x is shite because its genre y.... Pop & Hip Hop get this a lot when the is actually good stuff knocking around & good pop music is good pop music I don't care how manufactured it is FOR EXAMPLE Beyonce - Single Ladies a fucking tune no matter which way you look at it and is a lot better then most mainstream rock acts put out these days.

When it comes to underground hip hop it's one of the most progressive and forward thinking genres out there, it's constantly evolving and implementing new musical influences & this is why (as it is anyways) this genre won't die... I concede the is a lot of mainstream bollox out there with the exception of maybe Kanye West who is quite forward thinking.

I mainly listen to: Alternative/Folk/Indie/Electronic/Experimental/Ambient & Dubstep

Mainstream Rap: Don't get me wrong, There's times I'll put on some ghetto music and start dancing but most of time its trash, I prfer Underground and Old-School hip-hop and Im 13

Mainstream Pop: It;s catchy but it's really a dead genre in terms of actual meaning, Most pop artists is usually some white girl who likes to party, have sex, and be a freak but I do listen to Pop

Not a genre per se but anything with Auto-tune is fucking horrible. If you are so bad at singing that you need autotune then why are you in the music industry in the first place? I have never understood that, if you cant sing then don't, don't make yourself sound like a robot who still can't sing.

Screamo/Anything with screaming for vocals, I can only handle screamed vocals on very rare occasions (Lamb Of God comes to mind) otherwise I really hate it, not so much because of the way it sounds (although it sounds terrible) but because it gives metal music as a whole a bad name. Whenever I tell someone I like Metal they automatically think that meant screamo and them I have to explain that I mean REAL METAL (Metallica, Maiden, Priest ect.) Why just in this thread alone I have seen people refer to screamo as metal, screamo is not metal, it is a singer who cant sing and guitarists who blast out generic palm muted thrash riffs that sound like they could be recycled from any Metallica or Slayer song. I really hate that now days when people think of metal they think this instead of real metal music.

There are a lot more things that I don't like like country or 99.9% of popular music but at least I can give them credit for actually having some form of musical talent most of the time. For example while I may not like he music I can at least admit that Lady GaGa for example is a somewhat talented singer/songwriter, I don't think she is good enough to be as popular as she is but I can recognise that she has talent. It takes absolutely zero talent to scream into a microphone or sing badly and put it through autotune to make it sound worse.
