Generations: The Rock vs. Rocky Johnson & "High Chief" Peter Maivia

I Am The One Who Knocks
A little twist on this one. Instead of a one on one match. We take one of the BIGGEST names of all time and pit him against His father and grandfather in a handicap match. No doubt in my mind if this was a singles match against either that The Rock would trounce them. So we will give the other two a slight advantage. Who would win? The tag team or The Rock?

I still think The Rock would take this. For many reasons. He has the crowd solidly behind him, numerous titles, and the most important factor. This is to my knowledge mine you. Rocky Johnson and Peter Maivia never tagged. They would be new to each other and might have a hard time defeating the faster more charismatic Rock. In the end there would be a mistimed error because of sloppy teamwork and The Rock would deliver a rock bottom on one and the spinebuster on the other. Then set them both up for a douvble People's Elbow.

I think the Rock would win. You might disagree, what are your opinions?

Now to be honest, I'm not old enough, nor have I cared enough to research too much into High Chief Peter Maivia. From what I gather, he was essentially the patriarch of the Samoan Tree that we see running in the WWE right now. He was in essence, the Jackie Robinson of Pacific Islanders to make it mainstream. Other then, I couldn't tell you anything about his in ring ability, anything notable that he did, or anything else.

Now what I can tell you is that Rocky Johnson was a guy that simply happened to be a guy that had the right skin tone at the right time. Simply put, he was innerchangable with any other black guy that came around at the time to happen to be the first team to win the Tag titles. Sure, the guy was the "soul man" and had charisma, but on the pecking order of guys in the WWWF at the time, he was probably somewhere in the middle, and that's generous.

While I'm not the Rock's biggest fan by a long shot, it's easy to look at him merely by figures alone and understand how great he was. The guy won nine, count em, nine world titles whie employed with the WWF/E. 7 WWF championship, 2 WCW championship, and you could possibly make that ten if you count the Undisputed title as two reigns *which i think should be the case. Only one man in WWF history has more titles then the Rock, and that's Triple H. Rock has won more then Hogan or Austin in the WWF, and that's a huge accomplishment.

Another aspect to look at with Rock is he was there about 6 full years, counting his early time away and then going to hollywood for months at a time. That's over a world title a year on average. No one that I can remember has done that. Maybe HHH but it's elite company to say the least. As for his family, they're more reasons as to why the WWE HOF means nothing at all. Maivia was a wrestler that got over because of his gimmick, not his in ring ability from what I've been told and read. Johnson as Shocky said got where he was because of the color of his skin. He's famous for being half of the first black tag team champions. Wouldn't that mean that any other African America wrestler could have been inserted into his spot and received the accolades he does? Rock is the only one to stand out at all, and he stands out a lot.

Hmm, an interesting idea. I myself thin k that the tag team of Johnson and Maivia would be a great team. One has a lot of energy and charisma, one has a lot of wrestling knowledge and pure force behind them. They are like a black LOD, just half as cool. I give them 66% the power that LOD has. Not in a fight between LOD asnd The Rock, I can almost see the rock overcoming, but he would be beat down. Now take a team that is worset than the LOD would be, and the Rock wins here. He will beat his father and grandfather in a match.
