Gears of War 3 Pushed back to 3Q 2011

This really upsets me seeing as how I've had the game preordered since they announced it back several months ago. A few days ago IGN released a sneak peak at the multiplayer and after seeing it I think I can wait a year because it seems like EPIC really wants to put their heart and soul into this game. Another thing that really excites me is that EPIC promises an open Beta at the beginning of next year.

So people that actually enjoy the series or people that have never picked up the game before what are your thoughts on this?

Words cannot describe how annoyed I am by this news.

To me, Gears Of War is one of the few remaining pure pleasures on the 360 and for it to be snatched away from me a few months before it is set to be released, is nothing short of a fucking joke! The campaign in Gears Of War is what drew me into getting a 360 and it remains one of the best campaigns I have ever played, to be honest. Yes, it has become somewhat hidden behind its multiplayer but I still feel that it is absolutely magnificent. People talk about the Halo campaign being the best but I think that Gears Of War 1 and 2 match and probably surpass that level.

I heard that the game will actually be ready to ship by April and that the only reason it is being delayed is so that Epic can beef up their autumn line up later in the year. To me, that is a big middle finger to the fans. I, for one, am absolutely gagging to see how this series finishes and making me wait because you think that profits are going to be hugely effected by moving the release gets me riled up. This is especially true when you think that this game is going to be a huge release for the 360 whenever you release it. Making it later in the year might not even give you more sales when you consider that Call Of Duty and Medal of Honour are usually released around that time.

This is a mistake. A huge fucking mistake!
