[It's Damn Real!]

How has this not been bumped yet?

I've read every book between seasons one and two, but despite Season 2 thus far not following completely in tune with A Clash of Kings/A Storm of Swords, I have to say that the adaptations still follow closely enough IMO to satisfy A Song of Fire and Ice readers as well as Game of Thronies who hadn't read the books. GRRM says himself the two are separate anyway.

Thoughts on Season 2 thus far?

The Battle of Blackwater looks to be tremendous in the coming episode(s).

Minor grievance with Tyrion not forging the chain as he did in Clash of Kings, but that's not to say it won't still be a success.

Thoughts on Season 2 thus far?

My thoughts are really a little muddled. Bear with me as I try to get them out here.

I really dislike what they are doing with the magic of Westeros right now. I liked the first season because it could be, somewhat claimed, to be like the history of an Earth-like dimension. There was no real magic with the exception of the tales of dragons of the past. This season, the magic of Westeros and beyond seems to have been kicked up a gear. I haven't read the books yet but I'll get to themm. It just leaves me a little bewildered when a shadowy figure is birthed and kills Renly right quick, 3 dragons are born and illusionists are killing multiple men with ease. To be honest, it just seems like cheating.

I really like the plot-lines with Arya and Jon Snow. Arya has been a revelation this season and I continually enjoy her journey. The same goes for Snow. His interactions with the Wildlings and his time at The Black Gate have been brilliant. I hope that he manages to get back to the North at some point soon. I'd like to see him reunited with Robb.

Daenerys continues to be a whiny little bitch and the story with her dragons is getting to me now. Yes, you managed to get 3 dragons to hatch but I would love for you to actually shut up about them for a little while at least.
