I've read every book between seasons one and two, but despite Season 2 thus far not following completely in tune with A Clash of Kings/A Storm of Swords, I have to say that the adaptations still follow closely enough IMO to satisfy A Song of Fire and Ice readers as well as Game of Thronies who hadn't read the books. GRRM says himself the two are separate anyway.
Thoughts on Season 2 thus far?
The Battle of Blackwater looks to be tremendous in the coming episode(s).

Minor grievance with Tyrion not forging the chain as he did in Clash of Kings, but that's not to say it won't still be a success.
