Fairly easily, Doug. You can either make mention of the fact that Sarah Palin had her targeted on Palin's website, or you could make no mention of that at all. You could mention that the shooter has been influenced by some very reactionary leaders in history, or you could leave all that out. You can provide the fact that the shooter was a young, white male, or you could leave it out and allow people to draw up their own conclusions, and there are plenty of Americans who will immediately assume it was a terrorist attack of sorts. You can't put a surreal spin on it–I don't think any conservatives will praise the shooting or have any negative words about Giffords–but they can try to cover their own asses by leaving out information that other sites include.

This was an awful tragedy...and it's no coincidence that after she was cross-haired on Palin's map that this woman was targeted. I will also say that she was targeted before: Her office windows her smashed, there was a gun found at her rally, and a few others things happened during the Health Care debate.

Now there's a girl on Twitter who totally went to school with him and, like, thought he was a loner and a liberal. Glad that's put to rest.

Also, he liked The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, and Anti-Flag, at least he did years ago. I suppose that's all we need to know. "I don't wanna die; I don't wanna kill", right?

"Jared Laughner" is the name being thrown around for the suspect.

This is what gets me the most. How could she have posted this and not expected some lunatic to take a "stand" in a way like we saw today. I mean, we get 3 men who shoot indiscriminately into a crowd, and hit this woman in the head. Apparently her husband is supposed to participate in a space shuttle expedition in April. Her family's life has been changed forever. She's been targeted before, and yet showed enough goodwill to make herself vulnerable with this "Congress on your Corner" idea. A magnanimous gesture that she had no obligation to do. One of her staffers died, and so did at least one child. An innocent freaking 8 year old. Same age as my neice. This could be any of our family member's given the situation.

I do blame Sarah Palin in part for this. She posted a fucking picture on her site with targets on them. Actual targets. What the fuck did she think people, especially those who take everything literally, to do? How irresponsible of her to post such a thing. When some people read "take a stand" they think actions, not letters, emails or phone calls. And what we get is a tradgedy like today. I'm glad they've continued to interrupt my basketball games to update, because awareness is whats needed more then ever in a time like this, especially for those who don't have access to the internet.

We can all believe what we believe and disagree on political matters all we want, but at the end of the day, people, innocent human beings were killed because of it. Its irresponsible, immoral, and one of those days where I take a good, long look at our country and really wonder how "progressive" we are.

this just proves to me that people are fucking stupid. Politicians are fucking useless and really the current order needs to go. All over the world the politicos are just making a stand against what the other side is for. I'm sick of hearing about it. I'm sick of seeing it. yet nothing is going to change because the people that supply the money like the status quo as it is.

You really cannot place the blame on anyone besides the man (and whoever was with him) who pulled the trigger. However, Fox news seems to be working overtime in establishing how he might just happen to be a left-winger . Amazing..fucking amazing.
