Futurama Returning With New Episodes

New episodes of Futurama coming to Comedy Central ... for real!

We've reported on every single little rumor that's come out about Futurama's return. We've asked Billy West, who couldn't tell us anything definitive one way or the other. But -- finally! -- we have some confirmation that Futurama is indeed coming back.

And we can thank Craig Ferguson for it.

When Katey Sagal visited The Late Late Show the other day, she told Craig that the show is coming back to Comedy Central in 2008 for at least 13 episodes (I was watching that appearance, too. Must have slept through that part). Don Kaplan of the New York Post confirmed this; his sources told him that all the primary voice actors signed new deals this week. Also according to the article, FOX may have the option to air the new episodes, but probably won't. The new episodes will also come out on DVD after they air.

I just have one reaction: Huzzah!

Apparently the new episodes start this coming Sunday on Comedy Central, which makes me happy, I have always been a fan of this show, and have all the previous stuff on DVD, I hope that the new episodes are as good as the old ones as I can't seem to get enough of this show, can't wait to see what they have in store for us

But if its true, thats pretty damn awesome, I love that show its friggin hilarious. My third favorite behind ATHF and Family Guy.

this is great news futurama always deserved better treatment than they got. This has always been a personal favorite show of mine and IMO is MUUUUUUUUUUCH better than family guy because while futurama stays fresh every episode family guys the opposite you only need to see one episode and youve seen it all with all the unfunny stupid flashbacks and shit. overall great news for me Im most looking forward to it coming back

Umm...actually they have been advertising it, that how I found out, I turned to Comedy Central after Raw last night and saw a commercial for the new episodes, it sounds like they going to start them off with Benders Big Score, which is already out on DVD then other new episodes will follow, it'll be good to see what new crazy shit Bender, Fry, Layla, and the rest of them get into

They've been talking about bringing back the show for years, then finally decided they would like 2 years ago. From there we've had a Direct-to-DVD Futurama movie (possibly another? I can't remember) and now the show.

I---am----fucking----excited.

As hell.

This Sunday, I will 'gasm at seeing a new Futurama. One of the funniest shows ever.

I am so happy to hear they are back. Futurama was one of my favourite (maybe even favourite) animated series ever. It was a very funny show, and I was disappointed when I heard the were cancelled. When 'Benders Big Score' was being advertised I thought they were gonna bring the series back, but it was only one DVD. And now, finally Futurama is back.

I've seen all of their eposides at least twice each. So, I can't wait to see some new stuff. Hopefully it will be just as good, as the previous episodes. I'm not sure when it's airing in Canada, but hoepfully it'll be on, on Sunday as well.

seriously?? I watch adult swim EVERY NIGHT amd have never seen an advertisement. thats fucking crazy. What time is gonna be on sunday??? And hells yea, im excited too. That show is one of the consistently funniest,behind Family Guy and ATHF, like i said. Many may disagree with my assesment of ATHF. You have to be a certain type of person to enjoy that show LOL

Futurama isn't on ADULT SWIM anymore, it's on Comedy Central now, has been for weeks now, I think it airs every night right after the Daily Show & Colbert Report re-runs from the previous night, so like 9:00 Eastern (8:00 central) I think

It's gonna be on at 8:00 eastern (7:00 central) sunday, and if I understand right the new episodes kick off with Benders Big Score, which is already on DVD

I agree with ATHF being great, I used to watch it all the time, kinda stopped but I have the first couple seasons on DVD, and think it's great, how can you not love Meatwad?!?...still need to see the movie

the movie isnt really that great. U have to watch it a few times for it to grow on you. And it doesnt feature nearly enough Carl (my favorite character). I have all the seasons on DVD, and was pretty sorely dissappointed in the movie, although them having the freedom to cuss freely is a fine addition LOL.

What?! The movie was fuckin' awesome! True, not enough Carl...but it was AWESOME!

The intro alone makes it a classic...how can you note love this?

Im sorry. I just didnt like it man. I mean after a few veiwings I rate it as passable. I think it was becuase I had such absurdly high and great expactations, that I was dissappointed. The part were they go to the theme park and the moonite throws up and says "MY NUTRIENTS" was fuckin great. And at the beginning were Meatwad was advertising for his concert and u hear Carl scream a muffled "what the FUCK" was the highlight of the movie for me.

On the Aqua Teen Movie: I've always been a HUGE ATHF fan, I have em all on DVD and watch them often. The moive I thought was plain hilarious. The into alone made me cry from laughing so hard...

FUTURAMA: I am reallllly excited. Futurama is my 2nd favorite show next to Aqua Teen. I like it more than the Simpsons and Family Guy combined. I've seen every episode and absolutley cannot wait for there to be fresh episodes. The humor should be even better on Comedy Central than on Fox since it seems that Comedy Central can get away with more stuff. I.E.: South Park, you'll never see that on Fox. So I'm REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS

I used to enjoy Futurama but am not excited for its return. I watched it just cause it was on between the afternoon NFL game and the Sunday Night Game. I enjoyed it, but its nothing I can't live without.

ATHF is one of the funniest shows ever. Shake is the best cartoon character ever. The movie started out funny but kind of drifted at the end. There is a reason the episodes are only 11 minutes. The show is so great because its pure dialogue. The only people who don't like it can't get past the fact the characters are food items. I bet if we started an Aqua Teen quote thread it would go forever.
