Futurama reboot.

¡Roján!

Down with the trumpets.

So, last year Futurama got a reboot on Comedy Central. Many fans were a bit cautious after the quite frankly horrible straight-to-DVD movies made. So, a year on:
What are your thoughts on Futurama now?
Does it still make you laugh like the original one?

I've only watched a few of the new episodes as they have just been broadcast over here in Britain now. I, personally, think that they are great. Classic Futurama. You could pick out season 1 episodes and stick them on a disc with season 6 episodes and I wouldn't have the foggiest. I'm glad they're funny because quite frankly the movies were horrendous. Bender's big score was average but the rest were terrible. Anyway,

Discuss.

I haven't seen every episode of the rebooted Futurama on Comedy Central, but this show can still make me laugh. Futurama has a nice set of bizarre and eccentric characters, and I still enjoy Fry. He's the clumsy slacker, who isn't too bright, and he can always make me laugh. Again, I haven't seen every episode, but Futurama 2010-2011 has managed to entertain me.

From what I've seen, the substance of the show hasn't changed all that much. Fry is still a dumbass, Bender is still a dick, and Leela is still the strong and confident woman, who isn't afraid of any danger. Sure, there is new material as far as the stories are concerned, but I haven't seen any major changes. This show can still be funny, because each episode does have a good amount of humor. The formula for Futurama works, so I don't see any reason to change it.

I've seen all 4 of the episodes that have been broadcast over here of the rebooted Futurama and like it's been said it's just like it's never been off our TV it's still the classic Futurama I remember and I agree with Rohan that the movies were shockingly bad and I was a little bit worried that they were setting the tone for the new season but I'm happy with the way things are going with this new season

I still love it. They have the entire 5th season (which you could actually call the sixth if you take the movies they made between them and break them down into 16 episodes) on Netflix and I sat and watched them all the other day. I never catch the new ones as unfortunately there are just too many other things on in that time slot that I are more about, but I try to catch the replays.

Nothing has really changed as far as the characters go. But they are able to capitalize on modern stories now and put the futuristic twist on them like they always have so they can still keep it fresh. It's also still as funny as it's ever been.

I hope it stays around. I don't know if they are getting the ratings Comedy Central wants them to, but hopefully the niche fan base they have garnered keeps em going for a while.

They have been pulling consistent 1.0-1.1-1.2's which according to wikipedia is excellent for Comedy Central.
And, they have just commisioned a seventh series for 2012. It looks to be doing well enough!

I love it more than when it started. Then again, I only have a foggy memory since I was younger when it first aired, but it's my favorite cartoon to watch. I think its better than Simpsons and way better than Family Guy. Like what Mitch said, they have plenty of a variety in characters that no episode seems repeated and entertaining each time

I've seen a few episodes, since I was never a HUGE fan, but it was certainly funny. I'm happy the reboot worked because Futurama was a nice alternative to all the other stuff that was out there, Futurama almost always differentiated from the norm... and it still does! I'm clearly not the only one who has enjoyed it, as the ratings have been good and it's coming back for another season. That really says it all.

The fact that the reboot has worked so well gives hope to other shows, maybe some other shows can have success if they launch a reboot, you never know.
