He was always nice to me. The Portuguese and bad English thing never bothered me much because I'm used to those types. I'm not all that surprised that he had such an extreme stance on gays and such either, Portuguese around here have a tendency to be a little out there with their views on most things. I'm not being racist or anything, just something I've observed living my whole life surrounded by Portuguese and Portuguese-Americans.

Was a really good sig maker though, should of stuck to that section and found his own little niche. I think the fact that he got shit on so much and seemed to annoy a lot of the Bar Room guys made him act out more. He got a lot of attention and seemed to enjoy the "bad" attention he was getting and wanted more. When he should of just kept it cool and quiet for the most part.

Oh well, life goes on.

Haha I remember that thread! I managed to get him to see the light by comparing Beatles with Linkin Park, after that I figured he'd stop talking out his ass as much. Only seemed to get more argumentative in threads after that for no real reason. Ah well!

Personally, I wouldn't have infracted the post he made, he was honestly expressing how he felt and contributing to the discussion. Sure his comments where ignorant, but you can't expect to have everyone share the same opinion, especially considering his age, location and education. As the former CL lounge mod and current Potluck mod I've always allowed for a little leeway when discussing these type of issues, otherwise these threads would be nothing more than a giant ********** of agreement.

I red repped the dude every day for about 2 weeks because of his brazen ignorance. If I had been a mod at the time, I could have hit him with enough infractions myself for the PM's he sent me in response to my rep. I didnt think he would last long.

This is exactly what you have to do. If people agreed with me on every post in the CL, Potluck, or anywhere else, it would make for a boring forum. I didnt agree with what he said, but his views on things were no worse then CM Punk_12, who is now in Prison, but not for being homophobic. It makes for intriguing discussion, and as long as he wasnt flaming anyone, I wouldnt have infracted him myself either, but it was a judgment call. But I dont care that hes gone, personally.

Prison would be a fair compromise, and I do believe it could serve him some good. We should be trying to help the ignorant, otherwise we're no better than they are.
