I can't even accept that. I know there's a point to it, but no. Pair Danielson with Jericho, that way, we can say... 'wow, they want Danielson to be fucking great' instead of the Miz, in which the WWE's saying 'well, we need him to be a supstahhhh! so Miz...teach him to say witty stuff, and avoid Cattle Mutilation.'

Oh, that gave me a bit of a rise. I didn't think it would happen. In the LD, we assumed that Jeff Hardy would debut in his place. I'm glad they went the way they did. Pope, even if he is just getting fed to AJ, has instant credibility.
Anderson was impressive too. What great heel work this Sunday. I went from hating Kennedy to being an Anderson mark in the course of a night. He and Pope stole that entire show. AJ and Joe had an amazing match, but I need to remind myself that it happened, whereas Pope and Anderson are in the front of my mind.

I'm willing to bet that the reason Vince started to put such a stranglehold on the wrestlers is that he's worried that he'll have another Clique on his hands. Shawn, Hunter, Hall, Nash, and Waltman all had creative freedom, and used it to put themselves over and bury everyone else. And he also gave Bret supposed creative freedom for the last few days of his employment, and we all know how well that turned out.
Granted, a lot of people have said that one of the reasons the Attitude Era was so good was the freedom that the wrestlers had. But I'm thinking that Vince is more worried about the bad than the good.
Still, who knows? I'm hoping you're right on this.
