Food Network Creates Wii Game

NSL

Life's A Bitch, And Then You Mosh
I saw the commercial, and thought "This has to be a joke...". But alas, it's not. The Food Networkd was actually created a game for the Wii. You slice, dice, cook, and bake. That's about it.

I'd assume the gameplay is basic, and what the attraction would be is beyond me. How about you actually grab some food and cook it? This just has "Facebook Game" written all over it. Doesn't seem like it can/should be taken seriously.

You know, if this were any other console I would laugh it off as being a joke.

However, the Wii has managed to turn joke games into a reality since. This game just sounds so bad. It sounds so basic that your assumption of it being like a Facebook game is completely warranted. In fact, I am quite sure that I played one before. This is just crazy. A game that will see you baking cakes over and over and over again is just not my cup of tea. For some people who own a Wii, though, This game might b right up their alley. It bamboozles me but it's gold to another.

I have two words for you: Cooking Mama.

Cooking Mama is a Wii and DS cooking game, and it's taken off brilliantly. I think the draw of course is in that it has a cartoony style and lots of recipes/minigames.
This just seems like Food Network's way of cashing in on it.

However, I believe that they could be onto something. If they gave it many minigames and levels based off of different Food Network shows (Iron Chef, Unwrapped, Good Eats, etc.) then it could work. I'm not saying it will, but the possibility is there.

:disappointed: Go back to bed, Doc. You're obviously extremely tired, and in no condition to post.

How would basing "mini-games" off of the shows help? For Everyday Italian, you cut sausage instead of steak? For Good Eats, you boil an egg? This game is going to turn into watching paint dry for so many people. It may be fun the first time through for some kids, but after that, they're just going to go back to blood and violence.

There you go. That's how it gets better. You can slip and lop off a finger. you can cook it too long and watch it explode. Sounds fun to me :lmao:

You need to think outside of the box. Iron Chef would be timed, and judged like the show. Good Eats could have you building weird cooking contraptions. Unwrapped could have you going through the process of making the food. Be original, NSL.

It'll probably still blow chunks, but oh well.

What a fucking stupid idea, The ONLY way this game will get sales is if parents are buying it to get their kids into the art of cooking. Any other buy is a kiss to the cash cow, The Wii has some great games on the system and games, But they are out weighed by pieces of shit like this by around 10 to 1.

How can people put their names towards games like these?

BIG FUCKING DEAL

Seriously who gives a fuck? I get the games I want, if there's a a cooking game that's all good for people who think it would be interesting. Cooking games have always been about, heck the famed PS2 had one, I don't get your proble. If this was on 360 or PS3 no one would give a fuck but no CUz It|Z oN dA WiI I mUsT make A THRead 2 BasH it! Think about it....it's ONE GAME in the great see of gaming. If anything I commend Nintendo for opening the door to all demographics when the GCN was slated for not having a wide demographic.

It's a big fucking deal to me, I love my Wii. If my gaming time was split into percentages it would look like this:

PlayStation 3: 60%
Wii: 35%
PC: 14%
Xbox 360: 1%

So it does matter to me, My point is the we is slated for being a "party", Or "kids" console. So it does piss my off epically when I see games like this surface, It's the same with movie games. These piss weak games have no self life to them, And it saddens me that the Wii is slated so badly because of it.

I had a laugh at that, Such a fanboy response. :lmao:
