First Sheamus, Now Jack Swagger...Who will be the next First Time World Champion?

The New Generation

Dark Match Winner
There have been 7 World Champions in 2010, and two of these people became World Champions for the very first time, Sheamus and Swagger. Both came out of nowhere and definantly weren't expected to win a world championship for awhile.

My question is who will be the next first time champion? Will it be a huge suprise like swagger was? Will it be a young champion that has been in the company for a couple of years? Or will it be a veteren who's been in the midcard his whole career and will finally get a world championship? Also when do you expect this to happen and do you expect a 3rd first time world champion in 2010?

Sheamus won at the end of 2009.

But I think it will Christian or Kofi Kingston from the smacdown brand, and from the raw brand I am thinking of Morrison or Ted Dibiase

Well Swagger winning MITB was a suprise on it's own. But everyone in MITB was never a world champion except for kane (i belive this is correct), and kane never would have won so we were bound for a a first time world champion.

But do i expect a 3rd first time world champion? Well there is a MITB paperview now so we'll see. Will the winner of that MITB become a first time world champion? And will it happen by the end of 2010? Hopefully this time WWE does it right and has christian win, or morrison (sorry for the biasness, i just like those guys). But we'll see.

To be quite honest, I think that the next first- time world champion will be The miz, Not that i agree with this, but of course we dont have to. I believe they got the us title and tag titles off of him so they could push him into the main event, although I would like to see morrison get a push instead :P

Sorry, but I have to disagree with Lif3h4aker because I believe that the reason that the U.S and Tag titles were taken off of him was so that they can build a feud between Big Show & The Miz and Jericho. I believe that those two will somehow interfere in the Jack Swagger vs. Big Show match.

Anyway, the person i believe will be the next first time world champion is Ted DiBiase Jr. I think so because as I think most of us know, is that Ted is going to build a stable called the Fortunate Sons in the near future. If Ted is to be the leader, he'd probably be given a world title. Another member (such as Ted's Brother) could be given the U.S title, and two other members would be given the tag titles and so on. This would give the stable some credibility. They should turn the Fortunate Sons into some sort of a power hungry group whilst having the 'holier than thou' attitude.

Ok seriously guys? This thread topic needs to be officially retired. I know this might be some people's first time discussing it, but in the 9 or so months I've been a member of this forum I have no joke, seen this exact thread at least 10 times. JoMo is great, but a mid-carder for life if I've ever seen one. Same thing with Kofi, but add Vince's unwillingness to seriously push hardly any black superstars. He doesn't like Christian on a personal level, and the Miz is the only person any of us EVER seem to agree on all the other times this thread is up, so end of story.

I'm going to say the Chosen One, Drew McIntyre. Once they get the IC title off him, he'll win the WHC and keep up with his usual sore loser bullshit. Watch for him at the MITB ppv!

I think whomever it is will be the winner of the MITB ppv. I think it's gonna be....Montel Vontvious Porter, MVP. I think it's finally his time to be champ. However I don't think he'll cash it in until a "face" holds the title on smackdown so he can make a heel turn....now that I think about it i think that "face" will be Christian, so I lied, my choice is Christian and I think he wins it at the Fatal Four Way ppv.

If I had to pick a guy from Raw, i'd say John Morrison, but I think the Miz is more ready.

And my surprise choice would be Matt Hardy capturing his first major title, I think he'll be a transitional champion, but a good champ.

I would love Matt Hardy to win his first major title, even if it was only for a couple of weeks. I just hope the Creative team like's him as much as I do.

Another person I can see winning is MVP, he's only been in the WWE for a couple of years and has not only good wrestling skills, but good mic skills.

Another possible candidate is the Miz, I agree with everyone else that I think WWE took the titles off him to push him to higher places.

You never know with WWE though, I never expected Swagger or Sheamus to be given the titles, so it could be any young star at this point.

My vote goes to the NXT winner, which could be either Barrett, Otunga, or maybe they even bring Bryan Danielson back to the show. I think they would do that to make the show look legit, and I don't see anyone else getting there. Christian could, but Vince doesn't like him. Kofi could, but Vince doesn't push black wrestlers. Morrison could, but he looks doomed to fail on Raw. Ted could, but, he's boring. I think we'll see an NXT rookie get there to shock everyone.

im always thinking of this. my 2 votes for the next 2 will be drew mcintyre from sd and the miz on raw. both men have the skills and are on the top of there game and with miz loosing his u.s. tittle and drew probly gonna loose the i.c. tittle to kofi its time for bigger and better things for these 2

Still holding out hope for Christian on SD. He actually has a lot of good momentum now that he's on the blue show. I think they used ECW to make sure that ECW could carry a brand and I think he passed with flying colors. I think Christian should take the currently vacant title of "the face of SmackDown" and what better way than to get the WHC?

On RAW, I'm going to say the Miz, though it's a lot harder for him now that he's paired up with Jericho and I personally don't want to see him with two titles again. But they must've taken the US Title off Miz for a good reason and I think it's so he can have a more prestigous belt around his waist.

On Smackdown I am holding out hope that it will be Christian. I think the match Monday Night against Edge was an awesome way to not only show how good of a wrestler Christian can be, but to also allow him to get a rub from a big name guy like Edge. Hopefully, this is just the start of better things for Christian who seems to be getting some momentum now that he is on Smackdown. COME ON VINCE! HE HAS BEEN PUNISHED LONG ENOUGH!

On Raw, I have said it before, and I will say it again, The Miz is the next big star in the WWE. The guy has got some serious Mic Skills, and his in ring ability seems to have finally caught up to his mouth. Once that kind of synergy happens the only place to go is up. Now that he is no longer the U.S. Champ I am hoping he gets next crack at Cena after Over the Limit. That might just be a little too soon though.

Christian or John Morrison would sound like the safest picks for the remainder of the year as far as new first time champions go. Hopefully, Miz and Kofi will be held off for another year or so, as I think they should be built up and tease us the fans for a while longer!

Christian has long since paid his dues and carried ECW until the very end. I don't know why he went to Raw just to get drafted to SmackDown, but an extended program between him and Swagger would be great. The one on ECW didn't last too long and I think that these two could really tear it up on SmackDown.

Morrison was built up as a champion to be on SmackDown, then something happened. I don't know what it was, but his push kinda stalled out. Next thing we notice is he is teamed up with R Truth. I guess his face persona didn't work out so well, but there's way too many heels on Raw and John will just have to make a tweak or something because he's got "it", whatever "it" is and it's time we saw him ascend to the main event.

The next first time world champion will be the winner of the MITB match at the MITB pay-per-view.
So i'm gonna go for Drew McIntyre on Smackdown. He is definitely world champion material. Although he isn't an outstanding wrestler, his whole demeanour and 'Chosen One' gimmick is very good. As he is a heel, he is very likely to win MITB and take advantage of a wounded champion.
If they were on Raw, I would say The Miz. He has improved so much recently. If he isn't a champion of some sort by the time of the PPV, he is guaranteed a position in the match at the very least. He's the next big thing in the company and dare I say it, the next Chris Jericho.

I've already seen this thread like 3 times and I have only been here 2 months.. seriously look for threads before posting your own...

Anyways like I posted in the other thread, I would like it to be Christian...He deserves it a lot, i mean he was in TNA and they just threw the NWA World Champion at him..What can't he do, he would be a great world champion..hopefully by the end of the year aswell...

This thread was stupidly phrased, 'cause the next person to become a first time champ; will be someone who wasn't champ before (Duh!!) All bets are on Kingston and the Miz in my opinion. The are the most over young guys on their respective brands, and their transition to the World title division would be seamless.MVP would have to turn heel before he could possible make a run for the WHC.Matt Hardy will never be World Champ, and if he does, it will be for like 10days at the very most.Hardy's ( in his current state/gimmick) not World Champion material. If he was, he'd be champ already....

I think it'll be the Miz, but not for a while (at least next year). He is THE up and coming star. WWE have been gently pushing him and soon it'll be his time. Since he is now out of the US title picture, WWE need to move him on to pastures new. Initially, this will probably begin with a big time feud with a major face on Raw, but at some point, Miz is pretty much destined to become the next "first time" world champion.

Kofi is very much over too on Smackdown, but he is nowhere near ready IMO. Drew McIntyre? Not yet....

I think it'll be Christian on Smackdown!, but only if Swagger can manage to keep it through his feud with Show, and his inevitable feud with Taker. If he still has it after that, Christian would be a logical choice. He and Swagger already have a history, which Christian came out on top of. At first Swaggs would dominate, but I think Christian would get it a smaller PPV. MITB or something. Other than that, I don't see anyone worthy of it yet. Morrison is nowhere near ready, I don't think he's even ready for a US Title reign anymore. Nobody new will hold the title on Raw for a while, but if one does, It'll be Miz.

Dibiase buying the belt unlike his father's failed attempt.

Or Dibiase could just buy MITB case, which I think would be more fitting

As for who could be the next "First time World Champion", I would say Drew McIntyre has a pretty good shot, I could be mistaken but isn't McMahon high on the kid?, Also any of the big guys who haven't won it yet stand a pretty good shot too, guys like Henry, Ezekiel, Kozlov, etc. we all know how much Vince loves big guys... whether they have talent or not

For me it has to be The Awesome One, The Miz. Who has all Titles taken off him for to just stay in Mid-Carder teritory. He's going to get the Push soon, Maybe at MITB PPV??
Either him or Santino...He is Underused and should be a champion again! no...really Santino...I'm Just Sayin...

For me it has to be Ted Dibiase he has the most talent great on the mic and he is the best young guy left in wwe to never win a major title.

Evan Bourne?!?!

Ha - erm, personally I'd like to see it be Christian -a world champ waiting to happen for a long time in my opinion.

It would look asif the winner of the Money In The Bank PPV next month is likely to be the next first time world champ (assuming it's not someone who has already won the title before).

Other than Christian, I don't think any one is ready from the under card for a main event push. Kofi, The Miz, Morrison, MVP, DiBiase - all at a level below - but need a good year before I could consider them main event worthy. Then again that's what Money in the Bank is for.
