Finlay Rehired By WWE

That makes me happy, I felt so bad for him when he got canned for trying to get a guy heat. Not like he screwed with a brazilian flag or anything.....

ROH is fine. They've got plenty of talent.

Their best wrestlers are all tag teams now.

Briscoes
WGTT.

Steen has a great gimmick and attitude, but he doesn't look like a wrestler let alone champion. Davey Richard absolutely sucks.

Ciampa blows.

Mike Bennet is growing on me, but idk how much talent he has. I just think the whole I'm with Maria and your not heel gimmick is great. I'm just not sure if that gimmick requires talent and wouldn't be over with any guy maria is with.

Steve Corino is still amazing but doesn't wrestle.

Like Generico, but he hasn't done anything different in 10 years. How ever I love Elgin and Truth, but they also haven't changed in years. Same old stuff from them and thats coming from a huge Martini fan.

Jay Lethal is the quintessential indy wrestler, but in a bad way.

I just don't see the wealth of talent. Finlay obviously isn't a significant or any loss to ROH, but to claim that they have tons of talent just isn't true anymore.

That would be another loss for ROH. That list of names is starting to build up.
Not really. I don't think anyone would truly believe Finlay would never return to the WWE. This was clearly a case where the WWE made a move to let heat die, and then bring him back when the time was right. I'm sure that's what the WWE told Finlay, and I'm sure ROH knew it when they contracted him.

I'd like to think the people running ROH are smart enough to realize that ROH is really nothing more than a stepping stone for talent to get into bigger, & better promotions like TNA & WWE. I can't imagine any wrestler working for ROH right now was sitting at home as a kid thinking "when I grow up I want to be a professional wrestler for a third rate indy promotion".

Exactly. If ROH was really committed to Finlay, they would have tried to sign him to an exclusive contract. Instead, he's been doing a tour of most of the major indies. He was a brief attraction, and did well at it. Nothing more, nothing less

Great news, I always felt he was harshly treated, JBL escaped unscathed from punishment for a far more offensive gesture in Germany and the disrespecting the National Anthem quirk has been pulled ad nauseum since the 80s. Since his suspension 16 months ago, he hasn't ranted and raved - merely held his hands up and said I messed up and I'm sorry for causing genuine offense.

Any interview or report I've ever read on the Carrickfergus man has been more than complimentary and, as a fellow countryman, I'm glad to see the wee man back were he belongs.

Finlay came in to put two young talents over, he did it, time to leave. He could have put a few more over but I'm sure Ring of Honor, as Sly said knew his contract was nearing an end. They never placed him on the website as a roster member, nor did they place Lance Storm, both guys were short term deals to put some rookies over. No biggie, they'll be replaced.

Oh, and WMD, shut the fuck up, unless it's posting spoilers, you know very little.

And what Crock said.

CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe, Dusty Rhodes -- I could go on and on, but none of those guys look like conventional champions either.

Ciampa blows.

I'll never understand why people say this.

Jay Lethal is the quintessential indy wrestler, but in a bad way.

He's really not, as he has proven he can have success in a major promotion (TNA).

Yes, it's quite true. Kevin Steen, WGTT, the Briscoes, the Bucks, Davey Richards, Michael Elgin, Roderick Strong, Eddie Edwards, Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, TJ Perkins, Jimmy Jacobs, Jay Lethal, and many more quality performers are still on the roster. There's a lot of talent there, most of them are fairly young too. ROH will be fine.

He didn't get fired because he did something unpatriotic.

He got fired because he pissed off sponsors to no end. WWE needs to cater to their sponsors, and the National Guard was a sponsor at the time, and they were beyond pissed.

He deserved to get punished, and a temporary firing was a worthy punishment.

1. Everybody besides Dusty was at least in shape. Dusty How ever was 3-4 inches taller and weighed 80 lbs more then Steen. He was massive. That size made a difference. I never bought that guys need to be ripped, but Steen admits to not even trying. Besides I agreed that Steen is entertaining.

2. Ciampa gimmick is putting his hands over his head to form a diamond.

3. The fact that Lethal was on TNA doesn't make him talented.
Can he be entertaining? Occasionally
Is he another terrible gimmick of ripping off old gimmicks? Yes
His best days are in his past. And his days were never even that good.

4. Comparing any of the guys to the Briscoes and WGTT and it isn't even close.

You do realize he's only 27. He's not exactly trucking around on his zimmer.

You know what Rhodes had which Steen possess? Natural athletic ability and excellent cardiovascular fitness. Steen played a lot of sports as a kid, he is of big frame yet can move better than a man half his size. Plus, when he wears a singlet he looks fine, the t-shirt and shorts combination makes him look different to everyone else, something people recognize him by.

2. Ciampa gimmick is putting his hands over his head to form a diamond.

Not even a fan of Ciampa, but you seem to have mixed him up with Diamond Dallas Page.

3. The fact that Lethal was on TNA doesn't make him talented.

Well he had to do something right to be employed by them for six freakin' years!

Can he be entertaining? Occasionally

That can be said about every wrestler.

Is he another terrible gimmick of ripping off old gimmicks? Yes

Jay Lethal has spent more time of his career being Jay Lethal than he has Black Machismo. When the guy he was "ripping off" complimented and endorsed the "rip off" you can safely assume it was pretty good. Unless you want to state you know more about Macho Man's gimmick than Randy Savage himself?

His best days are in his past. And his days were never even that good.

Yeah, them six reigns as X-Division Champion mean nothing, right?

4. Comparing any of the guys to the Briscoes and WGTT and it isn't even close.

Go in-depth on this, I'm dying to hear your obscure, misinformed thoughts on what makes them better than legitimately every other wrestler on the roster.

Everything but some of the ppv's. Not that I didn't want to watch them, streams are hard to find.

I'm surprised you're so adamantly shtting on the product. The weekly TV show has been really good, for a while now. We've seen a bunch of good matches from all comers -- Michael Elgin has been shining through as ROH's next star, in particular. ROH's talent pool is fairly full, but you're saying the exact opposite. You're lambasting Steen and Lethal for their looks, and Ciampa for his lack of a gimmick, but all those guys have been exceeding expectations, especially Steen (dude is the best thing going in wrestling today).

But you do realize it's WMD scrutinizing the product though, right? Chances are he gave Mark Madden a quick e-mail and asked him to reply to your post, hence the stupid reply.

He does the pyramid thing so many times. I just don't get it.

2.I like Steen. He is great on the mic and puts on good matches. With saying that the way he looks will hold him back rightfully or wrongfully, but it's true. His gut is massive.

3. I don't care if Jay Lethal is a 6 time x-division champion. Lethal v. Pyramid guy is the worst feud in wrestling. For instance imo ADR sucks, but he has tons of accolades. I still think he sucks. Thats how I feel about Lethal. Ciampa I might change my mind eventually on but he needs to relax with the pyramids. He does it every 5 seconds. Maybe I just don't understand it. But it looks dumb.

4. I don't quite understand how I would need to explain why the WGTT and Briscoes are amazing. Can you please tell me first why they aren't better?
