Finally moved house!

And I never thought I'd say it, but what a relief.

We've moved from the busy life in London to the calmer one in Cornwall. Got here last night and we've got up this morning to the sun shining through the windows and some lovely peace & quiet.

Hopefully now I won't be on here so erratically & a bit more permanent.

Well is it a larger home?

Larger & cheaper.

We've gone from a 3 bedroom (2 large & 1 box room) that we've just sold for £305,000 to a 4-Bedroom house (all pretty much the same size), that we're renting for only £795 a month.

Then we're looking to buy over in Cornwall in the future, house prices around here go for about £170-180,000 for what we want.

You went from owning a home to renting a home? isn't that kinda going backwards?

Hell no, going from having to pay for everything yourself from roof repairs to boiler replacements to getting all that shit included by paying less money than you'd pay with a mortgage and bills every month, with the only upside being that you'd own the house one day when your old and shit to pass down to your rotten and ungrateful children. Its a step forwards, unless you can pay for it outright you'd have to be mad to buy a house in England in this century.

That's real cool dude.

I hope you enjoy it. I rent my place and I love it because I pay a flat rate every month. The only thing that I have to pay for extra is my internet and Directv. Water, gas, and electric is all included.

When's the party?

Right now.

See below.

Whereabouts are you? I'm in Exeter.

St. Austell

Do you have any hot neighbors?

Not sure yet, been here less than 24 hours!

We bought because we couldn't find anywhere to rent that was cheaper than mortgage payments. Then again we had a big deposit so the payments are manageable. It depends on the area and countless other things.

Eh, I think I rather own my house then rent, not ever having to come up with another security, or pet deposit, or ever answering to a landlord again, would be nice. Of course this is coming from a 32 yr. old American, as opposed to an 18 yr. old in the U.K.

I did the London to countryside move years ago and I say this with no hyperbole, it was the worst fucking thing I have ever done. Terrible transport, few jobs, no entertainment, everything takes ages and the locals hate outsiders, none moreso than Londoners. You'd have to drag me by the feet to get me to go back.

I am the exact opposite.

I fucking hate city living. I am more than happy with the town living I have going.
