final match

Adel_hamra

is this like my status on facebook?
in this week's episode of raw, stephanie mcmahon says that the main event match between jericho and hbk was going to be their last confrontation since it was an episode about "finishing old problems" and so on...

did they use the last mas standing match for that purpose or did they just choose that match since they already had many types of matches?

is that the official way to end a feud?

did they do that so that they can end the jericho/hbk angle and begin a hbk/jbl and jericho/cena angle?

It was definitely to add an air of finality to the feud, which I believe to be finally over. It was one damn good angle and the strongest case for feud of the year, but they were seriously wearing it thin. They also had to break off the angle since Chris is going to face the returning Cena at Survivor Series which will possibly lead to a feud. They don't need to insert Shawn Michaels as the "third potential" into a feud that can carry itself like that.

As for Michaels vs. JBL, it seems likely but they've started it quite strangely. There have been absolutely no promos between the two to confirm what their issue is and all of a sudden they're having an Elimination Match with their separate teams. JBL did interfere in the Special Ref match at Survivor Series, of course. But I'd personally like to see this rivalry get some legs to walk on. It makes little sense and doesn't feel like a proper angle anymore.

In short, yeah, it was by all means their final battle. And if it is not, WWE are wearing it very thin, damaging the angle and its legacy, as such, in the long run.

I think this way to end a feud is horrible. The way they decided to end this is to have Jericho win due to interferance by JBL? If I were in this position I would just get more pissed and challange Jericho again, because he would not have won that match. They started a Micheals/JBL feud out of no where as Hardcore said. There was no build up nor was there a reason to have JBL attack HBK. I think WWE dropped the ball on this as it was a shit way to end what I thought was a good feud. They should have had JBL come out after HBK won the match and attacked him. Not during the match as that was a good match to end the feud with.

If you ask me, the ultimate fued ender has and always will be the Hell in the Cell-back when Jericho and Michaels fought at Unforgiven, I said to myself, that this seems like a fued thats goin on all the way to mania and will be settled in the cell, I dont know, you never know what their gonna do. after the Last Man Standing match and the interference from JBL I have no clue where its gonna go.

but once again the Cell is the fued ender, remember when Michaels and Triple H were fueding like crazy from the time Michaels came back in May of 2002 all the way until, you guessed it, they had a Hell in a Cell match in June of 2004, and that is what ended the fued

HBK/Y2J feud was good but needed to end, cos' 1) casual fans are fickle-minded and cannot stand long-standing feuds (usually involving them 1-on-1 through several PPVs with just different stipulations) 2) casual fans hate serious drama and consider them boring.

What do I mean by my 2nd point? HBK/Y2J did great jobs in bringing their feud down to earth. Something that is credible and may happen in reality. Something u might even relate to. Smarks love it, but casual fans prefer to get reality out of their heads when they watch WWE, and enjoy a beefed-up muscle guy saluting like a Marine week-in-week-out, always seemingly invincible in the ring.

Or a mask-wearing warrior who manages to replay that David-Goliath angle over and over again. Casual fans need heroes to look up to, and fantasize being in their shoes. "I'm scrawny and short, but I believe I can beat up the class bully, just like Rey did to Kane!"... You get the point.

HBK will always be adored by the fans, but his gimmick and character are starting to show signs of wearing out. Right now, he seems to me to look more like an average happy religious family man, as compared to his showy and flashy wrestling persona as the Showstopper.

He needs to spruce up his image and promos, but anyhow, I agree that HBK/JBL is totally random and out of the blue. Y2J will once again get lost in the midst of Cena/Batista soon. RAW seems to be declining yet again, in terms of flavorful storyline sense. Hopefully, Orton's stable gets up and running ASAP, to enable better storylines to work around with.

Yeah, this feud is over. Which I'm glad about simply because I already heard people complaining it'd 'gone on too long'. Not my opinion, as I loved it and think they could have made it work for a while longer. However both have, or are, moving on to different, fresh feuds. I'm interested to see what will happen with JBL and HBK. As it seems pretty random, and JBL isn't the best. However I think, as usual, Shawn will be able to get a good match out of him.

I'm not going to say thank god this feud is over, because it was simply one of the best feuds I have seen since...Well since HHH vs. HBK. It had all the makings of a great feud. That being said there really wasnt anything more they could have done with it. They already had brought out the kids, Michaels suffered an "injury" and his wife was even brought in so she could get punched. All in all it was a very good emotional feud. With Jericho really stepping his game up. Glad to see they wrapped it up on raw and gave us a decent match to end it with.

They'll probably revisit in the not too distant future, and we'll be seeing a thread pop up with the title "Wasn't this feud meant to be over?" Tbe WWE can change history, and they'll forget about this and decide to make another match betwen these two, referencing ths feud. It was a great feud, as has already been mentioned, and I feel that theshould have ended it on a PPV, as an ending on Raw seems a bit anticlimactic to such a great feud. I think that having HBK feud with JBL is a step down, as JBL shouldn't really need to be put over, and HBK will be the eventual winner of the feud. So I don't see how HBK's next feud willl make sense. But I think Jericho vs Cena will be a ood feud, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Well they needed a match for Raw and they need to make sure that there is a reason why there is a feud. The more things done against each other builds up they're pay per view match. So yeah i think it is to turn the fan's attention to the jericho/cena and HBK/JBL matches. Enough with the HBK/Jericho fights.

They could have easily spread this out a lot longer by not having so many gimmick matches all the time, and involve some other guys. Now obviously they had Cade getting more involved towards the end but now he's gone, they've obviously decided to pull the plug. We could've had a few tag matches or a 2/3 Falls matches or maybe an Iron Man match well before we started having Unsanctioned Matches and Ladder matches.

Its probably the end of the feud but i suppose that match was really put on because WWE were over in the UK, since when has the UK ever got any good WWE shows?. Smackdown also done the same thing, they put on an excellent Extreme Rules match.

I personally don't think that because this looks like the end of the HBK/Y2J feud that there going to start a full-blooded HBK vs JBL feud just yet Although saying that they have made them captains of their respective teams at Survivor Series.
